Worms.. HELP!

I just started a few weeks ago and everything was going great. Gave them some raspberries… cucumber… strawberries. All seemed good. Then I added a banana and these dots started showing up everywhere. They were concentrated around the banana at first, so I removed it and tried to get rid of as many dots as possible… two days later I find them all over. Anyone know what this is and if it’s a problem, how to fix it??? Thank you in advance!

Don’t worry, if it’s too wet or too smelly keep adding browns. These bugs decompose your stuff and will either go away when their food source is depleted or be eaten by something bigger such as a bird or larger bugs.

Composting isn’t always subtle and invisible. Sometimes larger bugs are part of the process.

I feel like I need to add more info: this is a worm compost bin in my house. I live in the city and don’t have an outdoor space. They have a nice bin with holes for air. I’m worried that whatever these dots are will hurt my worms. How do I save my worms?

  3. Looks like it’s too wet. Add more brown and see if you can strain off some moisture.
