hello and welcome to the Ruth loves toet
podcast I’m Ruth and I love to knit
you’re very very welcome here today it
is Tuesday the 23rd of April
2024 and as always I’m coming to you
from the southwest of England Devon
where I live with my husband and two
kids and two
dogs um I where can you find me I am
Ruth loves to knit podcast on Instagram
I am Ruth loves to knit on rivalry and I
am Ruth loves toit gmail.com for
email I have not been here for a wee
while the last podcast I did was just a
chatty one I didn’t show any knitted
stuff um I talk talked about uh yarn
that had come in I had talked about
um uh places I’ve been etc etc and so
it’s been quite I think it think it’s
something like 48 days or something I
think YouTube told me since I last did a
proper podcast so I’m
back thank you for your patience um as
you can maybe hearing my voice I still
have a bit of a cold so I hope that
won’t be too annoying today for you but
um the house is quiet everybody’s out um
my husband’s car is G anot so he has
taken my car so I can’t go anywhere we
live in the countryside so uh the sun
was out it’s now dulled over the sheep
and Lambs are in the
field I just hope that um you are ready
for probably a long one as I always say
take it in small chunks the Joy of
YouTube is that you where you stop you
can restart again uh as I said I haven’t
been here in a long time I have a lot to
talk about a lot to show you um grab a
drink grab your Craft um and settle in
maybe over a few
days well we’ll see how we get on I have
got notes as always um if you haven’t
been here before you’re very welcome
obviously but I try to stick to my notes
but it’s always a chatty podcast and I
hope that’s what you’re here for today
um I understand if it’s not and there’s
a million other podcasts that if you’re
here for techniques and bits and pieces
it’s probably not going to be the right
podcast for you uh but
um Welcome to our we Community anyway
there’s the Sun out again now so sure
that’s great um there are two dogs
downstairs and I have I normally I’m in
my craft room/ spare room I normally
keep the door shut but I have it open to
get the full natural light today so I
apologize if a leaf falls from a tree
and the dogs start
barking that’s what they’re like Anyway
if you could see my view today out my
window there’s one two three five we
Lambs not that we anymore just skipping
about and having fun in their gang and
their mommies watching on and it’s um
just lovely so after a very very very
rainy few uh months it’s lovely to have
a bit of sunshine the cluthes are on the
line so if I do see r so I might have to
run
off um and um
yes sure how how else how Better Could
the day be than starting the day start
talking about knitting anyway that’s
enough waffle so I’m looking at my notes
already I T said just said apologize for
not being here um we were away and I’ll
talk about um that a bit at the end with
some incoming goodies um and I did get a
really good go do of the cold um so um
um last week you just would not wanted
to listen to this crooky snotter voice
so that’s why I’ve been away for a we
while um we’re running I’m running the
Royal Wii I’m running a cal a year-long
cal It’s the T and P year 24 #t andp
year4 and I’ve already given out prizes
for that and it’s any twin set and pearl
pattern um you can get all of those
patterns on rivalry um and um along with
me me I have so many of their patterns I
have knit loads of them but um I’m going
to focus on liten um a lot more this
year um as well as other things not just
twin set and pearl but if you want to
join in I think the next time I do a
draw a random draw from Instagram I will
do um
a uh yarny goodness prize I I give away
um patterns last time um so it’s worth
popping your way uh project in with the
hasht T P year 24 and make it it’s a
andd a few people have been putting in
the and sign and that doesn’t that
doesn’t link through if you have a
private um Instagram I can’t see them so
just bear that in mind um and feel free
to tag me in those as well so I
definitely definitely see them anyway um
last month um I mentioned and it was in
the title of my last podcast that I had
a birthday and I always try and do a
birthday giveaway because I am beyond
blessed with yarn with life with
everything and um I didn’t do it in the
last podcast because it wasn’t I thought
it wasn’t one everybody would want to
watch because it was about stash and
stuff different things like that so I
want to do two give giftaway I’ve
already said the word so is there any
point the Bots will be at me um and two
quite
different gifta aways to think about
that so I’ll do them right at the start
right at the start if you don’t want to
watch anymore that’s fine now the first
one there’s going to be a lot of
rustling in this um episode because I
have everything in plastic bags cuz
we’re getting to the season where bugs
can be around so the first giftaway is
actually not really a giftaway because
it’s stuff that was given to me and so
it’s not come like my stash not not
costing me anything other than the
postage and this is worldwide and you’ll
have seen some of these things before um
so we have this beautiful skin of attic
spindy that was gifted by Andy and
Angela you know I love adct spindy and
they’re lovely supporters of the podcast
it’s got a wee lad with a heart on it um
stitch marker it’s called vibrant Iris
it’s Super Wash Marino Yak
silk
um 366 M and it’s just it’s gorgeous
gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous quite tightly
spun highly spun then um the last of
these we bags that were given to
me uh on both sides it’s Lithuanian
linen it’s T made it’s my Knitter bag I
you’ll see some in my possession um as
we go through the podcast but um she she
gifted me this and another one I’ve
already given away a Wii Notions pouch
to give away and this is just a we sock
size so I thought it was perfect if you
were doing a a a one skin Shaw or
whatever and twin set and pearl have
several one skin Shaws FYI um and when
you’re knitting with it you can think of
me a gray-haired woman sitting knitting
and um then I’m going to pop in um a we
tape measure it says yarn
ruls it’s got we
llama and then I had these someone did
these for me they’re just we fridge
magnets with the ri loveset podcast and
um I’m going
to um self advertise is not what they
say so I think that’s a nice we gift um
I can never get this right for the P for
the thing light shin and funny now so
but um maybe you’ll win that and it’s
worldwide as I say I’m going to put it
back in the plastic bag to keep it good
we have dogs but they don’t get upstairs
um and anywhere near my yarn so but I
still keep everything in plastic bags so
the question for that is what’s on your
needles or hook or whatever I don’t need
to know everything maybe I should say
what are you enjoying um knitting on
your needles or hook or crocheting on
your hook um sometimes when I ask this
question I get 10 things um but that’s
fine if you want to put 10 things that’s
fine but that’s all I want to know just
interested what you’re knitting on
especially as the transitioning seasons
are coming in some people are moving
into winter some people are moving into
summer I really don’t know what we’re
doing here um one day it’s spring one
day it’s winter um so that’s a we prize
a we gift away I don’t know if I’m
getting this right and as I say that’s
worldwide I’ll post that anywhere and
that was my birthday for my birthday but
I think in my first year of podcasting
or maybe I did a we thing and I really
enjoyed it and I’ve meant to do it again
and just haven’t got right to it and a
we pay it forward thing um I as I say I
am so blessed like you’ll always hear my
podcast me saying oh this was gifted and
this was gifted and this was gifted I
don’t expect anything um I am so like if
my husband will tell you if something
comes through the post from a viewer or
from I
sque I never never take it for granted
and I always get excited about it but I
wanted to share the love now one part
one of these has been given to me and
the other one is from my stash so sorry
Russell Russell so I want you to think
now this is only in the UK cuz I wanted
to make it really nice um but I didn’t
want to bankrupt myself I will think
about worldwide at another time maybe
some patterns or something but I had
some yarn in my stash now full
disclosure I got it off eBay I didn’t I
didn’t um get it straight from the mill
but I live about 8 miles from blacker
yarn and I actually never been cuz we
moved just before lockdown but I have
some blacker yarn in my possession but I
have had it for about three years and
I’ve never de with it not because get
wrong with it it’s lovely um it’s been
in the freezer and everything after
after being getting it from eBay and
this is the
yarn it’s as I say it’s blacker yarn
Jacob’s four apply 100% wool in the
color
Way Green Green Mar
Stone now it’s darker let me see if I
can get the right
color yeah that’s it but it’s kind of
mar you can
see and I want to bless someone with
this I have got a full maybe more than a
sweaters quantity one two three and it’s
all same diot five of them and it’s been
kept in plastic the whole time I’ve had
it I would like to give away that I’ve
said it
again then I have a bag that lovely
Jackie from soft soft accents give
me oh I’m sorry for all the wrestling
but what can you
do look at that no it doesn’t go well
there’s blue tones in in the art but
it’s a big sweater sized um from soft
soft accents beautiful Jackie gave me it
and lovely box bottom and of course
yellow inside with pockets and a d-ring
and everything and then um I wanted to
give away these little uh yarn labels
these were gifted to me ages ago and I
thought I’d given them all away and I
was doing a bit of a clear out and I
found them and it says um creativity
never goes out of style you can put in
the bats from Little rosy cheeks and you
can put in the bag and then I’ll pop in
a we um magnet as well now if you know
somebody in the
UK um that has had a hard time recently
or a struggling a wee bit or just could
do with a we pick me up now I don’t need
to know the details that’s between you
and them um I would love to bless them
with it’s not very fotogenic is it with
this gift I would like to pay it forward
from being so blessed so much um and if
you know somebody who would like a
greeny Blacky
blue I think that’s it there um sweaters
quantity so hopefully that would do any
size and and um a nice bag and a label
to put in the back of the sweater I want
you to email me don’t put don’t put a
message down here cuz it’s private I
would like you to email me and um just
give me the person’s name address if
that’s I mean or I can send it to you
and you can pass it on to them this is a
trust honesty thing and I will just
randomly pick one and it’s not going to
be um because of whatever situation
you’re in um and last time I only got
about four um names and I just sent
something to everybody but if you know
somebody who could just do with we pick
me up maybe they’re struggling they
couldn’t afford the irn and whatever um
or they haven’t been well or they’ve had
a bad family situation I do not need to
know the details I just trust that you
meanwhile and I would love to send this
package to them um to given we cheer
up so that’s a gift away and a pet
forward and um hopefully
that’ll work for somebody and just
before we start into the actual knitting
at 13 minutes um I want to say a big
hello to Aaron eron’s three and she
watches me with her mommy and her mommy
says it’s the one time that Aaron will
let her mommy sit and
nit so Aaron hello um I think you’re in
America or Canada I can’t remember and I
hope you’re being a good girl for your
mommy and I also wanted to mention a
charity that’s based in Northern Ireland
as you know I’m from Northern Ireland I
don’t think this screens that knit looks
skiwi is that don’t know um I’m
originally from Northern Ireland and
there’s a lovely charity called Lydia’s
gift and they I think they’ve made that
worse and um it’s run by lady who very
sadly lost her daughter who was called
Lydia but she raises her daughter
sounded like an amazing person but now
she raises um or she tries to get
donations knitted crochet whatever for
the homeless or for people who are just
moving into you know from homelessness
to um permanent accommodation so hats
scarves blankets whatever you can knit
and if you go if you’re in Northern Iron
I was going to send her some stuff and
then it just didn’t seem possible
because it would it would been better to
send her the money rather than pay money
for postage to send stuff over but if
you’re in Northern Ireland and you you
knit a lot and you’re looking at your
stuff thinking W I’ve got so much stuff
knit and I don’t use it it’s Lydia’s
gift info on um Instagram I’ll put it
down below and um there’s lots of drop
offs at wool shops in Northern Ireland
where you can drop the stuff off and um
you might just be able to pet forward as
well with some of the things that you’ve
knit but they don’t use or you could
knit for them I know they are always
looking for children’s hats and things
like that but go and check it out um
she’s very good at getting back to you
on messages and I just think it’s a
lovely thing to do um as knits can
spread the love by what we knit so it’s
Lydia’s gift info but everything will be
down below in the description box it’s
going to be a big description box this
time okay let’s do some knitting at 15
minutes in but I haven’t been here in
ages so I had to have a we chat didn’t I
anyway do you remember
this I have a lot of patterns today as
well where do you remember
this it is the Terell Terell Deo Terell
Deo
by Caitlyn Hunter and I had cast it on
and I was loving the pattern but hting
the
edging and I put it in
timeout and um I brought it out the
other day and I looked at it and I went
on rivalry to see if anybody else had
sort of found a better a better edging
and I didn’t like anybody’s edging and
it’s such a shame because I mean you can
see even on the pattern she says it’s
it’s um fashionable but it’s not I’m not
fashionable so I have ripped it out I’m
afraid ladies and gentlemen back on the
cakes and it’s going out so um that’ll
be re repurposed for another project and
I’m going to have to have a think about
that it was just annoying me and I knew
I wouldn’t like it and I wouldn’t wear
it so that’s done that’s got rid of one
whip okay EOS we have many as I say I
had most I had all the fos done I
haven’t shown you any knitting for
nearly a month and a half and I had
loads of EOS done there so but I’ve only
actually finished one thing since the
last podcast that does that make sense
that Irish anyway so we’ll just go
through the pile as quick as I can
without speaking 100 miles an hour and
hopefully you’ll get some inspiration
and see some beautiful things so let me
get the info if I could read my notes
I’ve put all the patterns down okay the
first two things I don’t have here
you’ll be glad to know some of them
aren’t even here first two things I knit
were two pairs of socks for my daughter
um and I will put the pictures here but
she wanted to take them um on our trip
our Easter
trip and oh it’s on the floor excuse
me and one pair was knit in felt fusions
and another pair was knit in opal um the
felt fusions I think I got in a swap box
and the opal was very very kindly
donated to me or donators gifted to me
for Christmas by my lovely friend Sarah
from my nit group that is really
annoying me that that doesn’t look
straight I don’t know if that’s any
better um and she has worn them to the
death and they’ve been washed and
they’ve been worn again so um I love
it’s great whenever you get a um netw
worthy person in your family isn’t it so
that’s those two that was nice and
quick then um the next one are these
Beauties this was picked out of my pot
have so much on my desk I can’t even see
my pot there we go that’s my we pot full
of
full of all my twin set and pearl um
patterns that I pick out and if you
watched uh Instagram last last week
you’ll see me picking out two more um
and these are the lady Violet socks
aren’t they before I for a wax
lyrical yes lady Violet socks of course
Bridgeton
reference without do for my thumbnail
today um I have never knit a pair of
socks that knit so quickly I don’t know
whether it’s the pattern
or I don’t know I couldn’t put them down
and I literally had the leg done in it
felt like AR I absolutely well that
helps that the yarn is divine as well
but I’ll tell you about that in a minute
take them off to show you the
full sorry if I’m sniffing so the front
is like that then the side is like that
no the front is like the front is like
that the sides like that and then
there’s a detail at the back now I did
two I think I did one repeat L because
it was nearly up my leg and then just
did my own mess I think I never check
what’s what the you know I mean it was
it was a um this kind of
heel he flap and gusset oh dear me um
but I always just do whatever to I fancy
and these are for me they’re my size
um and say they’re by twin set and Pearl
and this yarn I got at a yarn Festival
in lalish to us
um on
a royal H Horticultural what kind of
think it’s called rosemore and it’s like
a garden place um lovely Gardens and you
can buy you can buy flowers and stuff at
it and there’s a cafe you know they
usual um and it was just last weekend
actually but I didn’t go to it but this
was from sorry about the crinkling this
was
from two years ago or last year and as
we were doing our first liop as so many
of us do I saw this and couldn’t resist
at e the price and the feel of it and I
looked it up and it doesn’t seem to be
dying anymore I couldn’t find her holly
tree fiber maybe that’s why it was cheap
because um she was packing up 100% sock
quet Super Wash Marino 25% nylon British
wool from British sheep 225 m
it felt like I had no NY on in at all it
was so soft and the socks are so soft I
can’t tell you it is absolutely gorgeous
and it’s not often I do a light colored
pair of socks but I really enjoyed them
and I would definitely need another pair
so it’s the lady Violet socks if you’re
wanting to do a pair of pattern socks
for the first for the first time these
might be right up your street I was
saying to Rachel like I don’t know what
it is that honestly this just flew
absolutely FLW so there you go that’s
them
R out places to put stuff put that back
in there so don’t lose it then so that’s
three then I have worn this many times
since I’ve knit it um and it is the
crest of the wave Shaw Again by twin set
and pearl using up yarn that I got for
Christmas two Christmases ago I got it
for my husband and this is the gorgeous
it’s oh there you can see the design can
you oh I’m sorry about it’s sniffing so
sorry
sorry now in
hindsight I think I would do the Border
about half the
size I think this is such a delicate um
design and delicate yarn that I think
then this looks a bit chunky but it’s
gorgeous it doesn’t I have um a lovely
short sleeved um oh it’s by
what do you call it oh I just had it on
the other day by Samantha gearen with
it’s got um uh lace here and um it
matches almost almost exactly to the
mint color in that so I was wearing it
the other
day
gorgeous The yarn’s Gorgeous I’ll show
you the Yar minute and I have the crest
of a wave bandana Kyle and there’s also
a crest of a wave Kyle just the straight
Kyle I know this is the I don’t have the
straight Kyle but this is the
um see I just think I would prefer it
maybe if it
was to there sorry about the lighting
but see if it was too about there I
think I’d prefer it but I love it and I
mean I love it regardless and the yarn
for this is West Green Loft yarn as I
say it’s been a mustache for two and a
half years
um and it is um Bella dark and it’s um
just says West Green Loft yarn classic
classic
sock and it was really lovely to be able
to use that and I think I used it
looking for the Wii that’s all I had
left I’m sorry I’m sniffing I’m sorry
sorry sorry maybe I should stop and blow
my nose that’s all I had left I love it
when when you really use up everything
so that’s the I really recommend again
for a first time it’s like it will
repeat it’s like one page of a pattern
it’s really really good and I think it’s
just so effective and even with a really
highly sort of vared pattern jarn it
shows up beautifully I I mean if it was
in PL it would be just as good so that’s
my fourth
one but it’s been ages it’s been
absolutely ages then
my firm favorite is my third Simon Shaw
again twin set and pearl there are other
things coming I
promise um I have knit three of these
and the funny thing well I
rarely in fact unless it was a testnet
or um a sample I never G watch for
um a
Shaw and it’s funny I have knit three of
these now the first one in it was sport
weight fair enough but they’ve all come
out with different lengths and different
um um amounts of yarn left isn’t that
funny and this is my third one oh this
is my third one gray they’re all gray
and something there’s a gray and T gray
and green gray and black no I can’t
remember anyway but this is my third one
and this is the shortest one of the lot
but it used the most yarn it’s funny
isn’t it
and I just I could KN
these could KN hundreds of
these the other ones are really much
longer and I mean this is well well long
enough and it’s been blocked and
everything um you wear them so many
different ways this yarn So Soft now
where did I put this
yarn what yarn did I use no that’s a
good one isn’t it oh here um literally I
had to go into
before I’ve the last one I knit I didn’t
use the the I knit it with 400 G 400 m
two contrasting colors um skin and um I
had like a we you know 15 gr left I knit
this one with the same and that’s all I
have left of the
yellow and I had to go into a second
ball of the gray isn’t that funny so
maybe she should G swatch
um the yellow is lemonade um it was sent
to me by lovely Fernanda of the little
monkeys and Me podcast and it’s it’s um
Cella yarn lemonade summer tonals and it
is 100% Super Wash Marino wool and then
the gray is um love handdyed
looks
blurred um and it is um 7525 and it’s 50
Shades of Black so so that’s those used
and as I say I had two I had two skin of
it so it was fine I mean I only used
maybe 15 G but it was just because it’s
tip to tip you couldn’t stop really and
um I mean I could have I could have
stopped here maybe a few rows earlier
but it’s the shortest the other ones go
around again and um who knows was I was
my tension tighter looser whatever I
don’t know but it’s lovely and I love it
and there could be another one I don’t
know it’s very add Ive and so simple
it’s well we don’t have TV anymore but
um just canceled our TV
subscription
um but it’s TV knitting so to speak
podcast knitting you know and it’s
lovely but it’s too warm at the moment
so that’s my third Simon Shaw off the
needles and um we’ll talk a bit more
about um uh Cal that the girls are
running the twin C pears girls are
running but that wasn’t eligible for
over the page we’re glad to know we’re
in we’re getting there this is another
finished object I’m really sorry if my
sniffing annoy not ideal with this dress
but dress bit baggy for under this is
the summer Jimmy jab o my favorite
color just an Navy dress under it um and
it’s by The Woolly Badger it’s probably
one of my favorite short sleeved um easy
to knit
uh but looks I think
lovely it’s going to blow out it’s going
to blow
out there you go um I’ve knit the DK
version of it but I knit it too big so I
give it away so I’m definitely going to
knit the DK version I’m definitely going
to knit the jiman which is a
cardigan um I have the wool and all set
out for it but it’s a worsted weight
iron weight so um that’ll be on the
needles at some point I would definitely
20 of these as well cuz I think everyone
would look so different so the yarn I
use for this if you’re a long-term
viewer you’ll know I got it at the yarn
Stitch Fest init in was it November
October or November and
it’s Blue Bell
Yarns and the color here I kind of wish
I’d used a 20 gam because look how much
I’ve got left of a 50 gr I think I use
15 Gam
so have loads of that left um which I’ll
use for something else and this is
blossoming 100% British bluef ler I
think she only does nons Super Wash yarn
but don’t quote me on that um and it was
um I think her prices are so oh I got it
in the baron bin so that was only6 and
then the yellow I only use like I am a
good size as you can see from my double
chin I’m not a petite girl but I only
used I only used used two SK and I have
that left over sorry about the shine I
have that left over so if you want to be
able to do something and it’s I made it
longer in the sleeves and I made it
longer in the body and I still only and
there’s um only 350 m in in this so very
economical we top and this was only 10
these were only 1010 when I bought it so
again it’s Blue Bell Yarns it’s a
British hand dire on she’s online you
can buy from her she’s a lot of shows um
around our area and the
only thing is and it’s not a
problem it’s a problem for me Pro my
problem is it’s so light I mean it feels
like feels like not weth anything but
yet it’s cozy but it’s maybe a wee bit
transparent I was going to wear it with
a skirt the other day and I’m like I
think you can see through it so um I
would have to wear it um over don’t know
if you can see I’d have to wear it over
a dress um
I just love it see there’s a wee bit you
see my hand yeah you see my hand and
it’s just the lightness of the of the um
yarn um but it is absolutely gorgeous as
I say I made the body longer and I made
the sleeves it’s not ideal over this um
baggy dress but um I highly highly
recommend the summer Jimmy jab by
um the Willie Badger and she did have a
sale on her summer pack patterns I’m not
sure if she still does but go and have a
we look and you won’t be
disappointed then I rarely I went took
my daughter to Ireland in the holidays a
bit more about that later and I always
take my mom over something of nit and
I’ll put a we picture here I just
Knitter the Miss marel scarf It Is by
it’s a free pattern
by I get rid there’s it there it’s by
suzan
I’ll show you it’s not there you
go Miss marel scarf you’ve all seen them
and um it’s supposed to be knit in
worsted but I knit it in DK and it’s
lovely and floppy and Mom prefers it cuz
it’s not tight up against her her um
neck now the photograph she sent me
isn’t the true sort of color it was I
got it in a swap box from
Australia so it’s circus tonic it was a
um sock set so I can see the the match
or the coord
SK just over there it’s Jubilee DK quick
and cozy 150 g sock set Marino Superwash
Marino Island it’s called Mount Pleasant
and that’s all I’ve got left but you can
see it is a bit darker than the
photograph my mom sent it was gorgeous
to knit with so there you go that was a
we gift for her I think she’s worn it a
couple of times um as the weather’s so
so changeable um and it’s I netted up in
an evening it’s you can see the
constructions like that and then um it’s
it slips through
the thing and you just double it over
it’s really cute really cute so that was
another thing and
then it’s like a conveyor belt isn’t it
have you do you need do you need a a
toilet break where you go um then if you
have been with me for a we while you’ll
know I was knitting on the hang on I put
all these things together or if you
could see the chaos in this room and I
had to move things out to even get the
cables in to put everything and all it
could be a few days before my craft DS
back to what it should be obviously
we’ve just come through Easter and you
know you saw every every time I podcast
we a bit more progress on my lent sha
that was run by uh Victoria Baptist in
Bristol Bristol’s about two hours from
us and I just saw a lovely viewer told
me about it and I saw online and every
week they send out a clue with um that a
week’s worth of kind of um thoughts
Reflections um on Lent and as I said
it’s not something that we um celebrate
in our church or in have I ever
celebrated but I really enjoyed doing
this and um I knit it in they said we
would need three balls of DK but I only
used two and this is how much I’ve got
left now it’s not as strawberry as as
that’s it there it’s illustrious W short
Spinners illustrious which is lovely
double knit and decay in the color 508 I
think um a lovely pinky cherry red and
this is
the it’s going to be so hard to show all
the detail oh you can’t oh that’s sh up
sorry it’s look how much it’s blown out
um you can see there’s just amazing
detail in fact sometimes I was knitting
think am I doing this right and it has
blocked up too look
look and this is for a we friend of mine
um who’s been really pearly recently in
fact so pearly they’re in hospital
that’s why I haven’t sent it
and to the ladies who I know some of
them have watched to the ladies who who
put this together
free and all of those all of those who
did the devotions Andrew from Alban nit
did the first lot of devotions you know
him so so maybe next year you want to
join in um if you’re so inclined and um
I’ll be sending that off to my friend
when she gets out of hospital as a nice
we um hopefully are be surprised I don’t
think she
watches there you go
and then we’re not finished one more now
that’s all the ones i’ finished before
the last podcast and um I didn’t show
but I have one finished object it’s my
husv
um and um dear me I had started this
done a few rows but nothing more showed
it on the I showed it on the last
podcast of the travel knitting I was
going to take because we end up to
Scotland it took us 12 hours in the car
um I had just taken over the driving
after a few hours and drove straight
into a three-hour traffic jam so the
kids were tasing me that didn’t want me
to drive anymore cuz I was too slow so I
got quite a bit of knitting done in this
but very very very little I hardly knit
a stitch maybe a few rows when I was in
Edinburgh I knit a few rows on a sock
when I was in Ireland cuz I felt so
pearly I a going to
sneeze and um uh I have that’s all I’ve
oned since I came home so that’s been
about when did we come home about 2
weeks ago um and um I’ll put a picture
here my daughter took this last night
now I like a big Shaw I love a big
slanket but I think this this is a bit
much this is the sohoo square by Jackie
Rose I think I will knit that there’s
three sizes there’s a wink there
something else and then this um the big
one and I would definitely love to knit
it again it was the perfect travel
knitting the perfect mindless knitting
when I got home um once you get the hang
of the pattern you don’t even have to
think about it really and the only thing
is it hurt my shoulders and my hands by
the end because there was so much of it
um and it’s um fingering with
like but I am so sorry I’ve sniffed
again oh hope you hope you’re not being
put off by this today I don’t even know
how to show you I mean it be shown in
that picture but it really doesn’t work
for wearing as far as I I’ve blocked it
it was a beautiful day yesterday I stuck
it out in the line I could have
stretched out more but um I thought
no um not do it anymore
basically this is it and I love it but
I’m not sure I’d ever wear it so that’s
it that’s it in
half and you’ve seen the full the full
thing something flying around my room
dust or something
and I really don’t know how you’d wear
it as I say you know I love a massive
Shaw but I
think I don’t live I don’t live in
Norway or somewhere that I mean I just
don’t think it’s going to work it is the
coziest thing in the world it is super
soft and it’s all garer I think it looks
so impressive but I think it’ll be a
nice little LP blanket I don’t think
it’ll be anything that I’ll wear around
my neck but I really would love so
um I really would love one so I think
I’ll knit the next size
down um so this this is
um my favorite yarn um it’s only a two
play yarn so it’s not a heavy fingering
and it’s Al
Centrum by T gar I’m sure that’s not
right um I got all of this all of my
Centrum from midwinter Yarns before they
moved um I don’t think they do it
anymore um before they moved up to
chatland and it’s um 200 MERS in 50
grams the red is from the same gorgeous
red all Centrum and then this Royal sort
of blue is um Corvette from woolly knit
um I had um a full like 200 gram hink of
that and then the green is also woly
knit that was gifted to me and I only
had one SK so oh sorry the dogs have
gone a bit mad um and
um it I love it I absolutely love it but
I just don’t know if I’d be able to wear
it around my so you can see there’s the
contrast
there that’s all the
colors it’s a great pattern has to say
for um just Mindless knitting but I
definitely think it’s going to be a lap
blanket and not um there’s loads and
loads of veg matter in these which I
love but um you do need to pick them out
from T to time that’s a bit
of straight
I don’t know what that is scared to pull
it anyway I’ll cut it off later um but I
really enjoyed knitting it but as I say
it’s the heavier it got um I I think I
must have been like this and it did hurt
my hands a we bit but I think I’ll try
the next size down at some point um and
the Wii wink is just a we sort of neck
tie but due to my um extra blessing of
more than one chin I don’t think it
would fit right my neck so that that’s
it now that’s all my finished
objects I have been blessed with one
that somebody knit for me now if you’re
a longtime viewer you’ll know I cannot
knit with Mo Hair which excludes a lot I
can wear more hair I can’t knit with
more hair it’s a it’s a sensory thing um
yes I know and so many patterns have
more hair in it I feel excluded I know I
can use lace but it doesn’t always look
the same and I jokingly said if anybody
wanted to um knit my um a CLE sha for me
from twin Cent and pearl I would be
eternally grateful and so many people I
didn’t mean it a tongue and cheek really
and people from all over the world said
they’d do it for me but my lovely friend
Caroline who just lives down the road
for me I see her all the time offered to
do it now she’s the busiest woman in the
world but the morning we were Liv
leaving for
Edinburgh excuse me she um messaged me
very know that night before and said do
you want to call in and get it on the
way and I was like I don’t need it oh
boy I had that thing wrapped my neck
Edinburgh was cold wet windy like
November it was awful so um I want to
thank Caroline so much I gave her the
yarn and actually have struggled to see
the right side from the wrong side she’s
done such a good job and I still really
don’t know I think may be that way and
this is my CLE
Shaw oh and I blocked it when I got it
home because um she used a cone that I
gave her and I could I knew there was
oil in it and I knew it could be bigger
as well well so it needed blocked but is
that just not I mean Joe your pattern is
stunning to start with I know this has
been one of the most successful patterns
I’ve ever had the colors are so it’s
woly knit a gray wooly knit mid gray or
something um for PL and then the rest
are drops um uh mohare and it’s funny
and obviously as I’ve blocked it you can
see the Halo but as I’ve blocked it it’s
got so much softer and I wor this thing
on blocked to the death in Edinburgh
because I was
foundered and I cannot wear I mean I’ll
get no wear out of it now but that this
thing will be worn to the death and I’m
very tempted to try it with li but I
just do not think it would have the same
effect I would like six of these please
Caroline thanks very
much
um it’s just I think it’s so cool the
designs so lovely I don’t think it was
difficult to knit um
she didn’t say it was and I just love
it um or it could be this way I just
don’t know reversible Thank You Caroline
so much you just absolutely blessed me
it probably doubled in size actually
it’s beautiful it’s got lovely eye cord
edging and what a blessing to be have
that made for me and I will you’ll see
me wearing it a lot whenever carine is
in our net group but is also good
friends so
um and we often go to shows and things
together so that’s all the fos I promise
um how many was that what 2 three four
five six seven eight nine of mine and
one of from Caroline mix
10 look it’s been ages and I had loads
even the PO podcast before that had
loads almost finished so um it’s fine
it’s fine it’s fine okay well I have
nothing I had I had nothing on the
needles apart from a pair of socks I was
gifted this wee bag from soft accents
from Jackie
again and this has become my Mari cury
sock Quest bag I have picked out my
daughter got give me this bag for my
birthday couldn’t be brighter could it
from tesos I think it says spread a
little joy every day and I have filled
it not able to see maybe with all all
the yellow yarn I have from with nylon
in it so there’s one oh I don’t even
know there’s there’s about seven
probably
skin and I have it hanging on the door
in my craft room but I had to take it
down to open the door and I’m just going
to work through those and that’ll be my
nit grip knitting um you know out and
about knitting I finished one just
finished that yesterday much just blown
out I’ve done a size eight um and go
every year I try to do you know like a
size 10 man’s one I do a small like a
five I do my size I do you know um and
I’ve started the other
one and this I don’t even know if I’ve
had label for no this was this was um I
find this in my stash I don’t think I
have a
label No No Label um so I’m hoping it’s
nylon but it feels like it is Marino
Nyland and that’s my we bag for my
handbag and I was in Super drug
yesterday which is a
sells beauty stuff some of them have
pharmacies but um no not yesterday
Friday and they were ra money for Mary
cury so I bought this we it’s one of
it’s we thing know we token for your
trolley I bought this and I bought a we
um daffodil pin but I sent that off in
my yarn swap box there on on Friday as
well and I just thought that’s going to
be my Wii Mari cury bag and I’ll just
work away Contin when I cast off one
I’ll just cast on another one um but
talking about Mari cury if you don’t
know about Mari cury it’s a cancer
charity here in the UK um and it has
hospices and a doctor who works there
Sarah she’s for the last as long as I’ve
known about four or five years has been
requesting um socks for all of the
people who will be in the hospice and
their families um at Christmas and
yellow for the Mari cury which sits me
down to the ground because I if you see
me knitting with yarn that you’ve sent
me know that I appreciated it but um I
can’t keep all the yellow yarn and I
want to bless other people with it and I
hope you’ll feel blessed too that I knit
them up I do enjoy the knitting of them
and then I I give them to um that and I
send them all off and we’ve sent loads
over the years um talking about Mari
cury I um picked out uh my next patterns
from U my weot for the twin set and
pearl TMP year 24 and
um this was one of the ones I picked out
it’s also
socks and it is Colin and Penelope
socks and with Bridgeton coming up you
never know she might design it um
another one and um I have decided and if
possible if the YN suits the next socks
that come out of the pot will all be
done in yellow and they’ll be
donated so I had cake this up to take
away with me and I knew I wouldn’t knit
on it so I just I’ve caked it into 50
grams and it couldn’t be brighter even
compared to this it is yellow yellow
yellow it’s blown out it’s so yellow and
I got this last year in um Edinburough
in it was in a bargain bucket thing in
the shop and it’s twin set Studios or
twin set stud Ginger twist Studios and
it’s Ginger hand dyed sheepy shock hard
to say in liquid sunshine and there is 6
365 M um and it’s it’s blue face lter
and
nylon and other scra here but I’m not
other and so only a year in
mustache and we’ll talk about Ginger
twist in a we minute and that’s just in
my Wei bag that I got for my birthday
from my lovely friend
as I say I had that had that Caked Up
ready to take with me but um I wised up
and realized it wasn’t going to it
wasn’t going to so all I took was that
Soho square and um and obviously it
wasn’t that size when it was there and
just a pair of socks and the only thing
I took over to irland was a pair of
socks and I really didn’t knit much on
them at
all and that’s from soan Sue on Etsy
she’s got some most Gorge I have another
ebag from her as well it’s got the most
gorgeous um Harris Tweed
so that’s that where we getting on not
too bad and then um a l I picked out a
sha and I showed it on Instagram and
everything I completely forgot that the
girls twin set and pearl girls if their
ears aren’t burning today I don’t know
when they will um sun’s out again um
twin set and pear girls have their own
Cal and you can happily double dip you
can go into my Cal and you can go into
their call and their call is #n the
family Cal because they they name a lot
of their patterns after family members
and I suddenly thought you know what I
want to enter the Cal so put the put the
one of the choices back in it was for a
Shaw it’s beautiful Shaw and I have the
yarn for it I got it at um I got it at
the flock Gathering um last month but oh
no two months ago um but um I decided to
do the Mora Shaw and I’ve wanted to do
the mor Shaw for ages so the Mora Shaw
is in here isn’t it yes I cast it on
last night full disclosure I overthought
it completely to the point where I
couldn’t understand the
instructions bear mind the time of life
I’m in it’s quite good 49 minutes and I
haven’t mentioned it the time of life
that I’m in and um yes we’ll just leave
it at that and the fact that my brain
does no no longer belongs to my body at
times and lovely Rachel I asked her if
she could help me and I’m sure she was
thinking oh good grief um and within a
minute I got the penny dropped it
clicked and it is so enjoyable excuse
me and I am I couldn’t put a d last
night I had to could believe the time
when I finally put a down and it’s HED
in my
Smiley glasses sheep this is um this is
a knit bag lethan linen um I can’t
remember when I got this I know I got it
sent to my my father-in-law’s house
because it was 10 pound cheaper to get
it sent to the south of Ireland thanks
brexit um and it is the moris
shaw
um named after their granddad there you
go love that I love I love the older
names some would say my name’s quite old
and that look at that beautiful
pattern it’s by Joe the older
twin and honestly
can’t love it
enough I am
using knit by numbers um from John arban
I got this when I I think I got this
when they reduced it all down um because
they were going over to a new um base uh
when I went to John arban um open mill
weekend which we’re hoping to go to this
year again and it’s 100% pure
flockin um Marino wool and it’s 400 m I
had I had um caked up as I said my brain
doesn’t belong to my body I had caked up
some beautiful uh yellow yarn and
realized I was at least 400 m short so I
have that already ready to go for
something else and this is what I’ve
done so far
after Rachel talking me off the ledge
and oh I just wanted this is all I want
to knit on I hope you can see it cuz
it’s just stunning look look at
that oh I love it that’s a we progress
keeper by
um Wy witch no it’s lovely by buan
anyway and um don’t know if she still do
them one it
see this is the so this this is this is
a bit actually that I got stuck on
because it said do as in pattern of
course like you know I need SPO for it
but honestly two seconds and I had it
worked in well 3 seconds and Rachel
worked out for me and then so you’re
constantly just knitting this pattern
and then you’re increasing over this
side and I just love it and the yarn is
to die for it’s beautiful it’s not a
flat yarn it’s a lovely we thing through
it and I think that’s probably the best
color you’re going to get and there’s
the so there’s a Mor there’s more of
socks out too now and I think they’re
going to do a Morris Kyle and I will in
be doing it all because I just love the
pattern so much
um and I will
just be knitting away on that and um
loving it I think I probably have to put
it down to KN on other things then when
I was up in Edinburgh we were up there
for meetings with the mission we work
for and we were obviously meeting with
other Mission workers and some of them
sorry my nose doesn’t itch unless I’m
holding wool um and we saw people we
only see once a year and a lovely guy um
who always asked about my KN and some of
them tease me a bit about it I think
they think it’s just a fad for Granny’s
and think it’s quite funny but hey ho
and um but he’s always very generous and
always talks to me about it and I
somehow offer to knit him a
jumper so um now this will be I’ll not
see him for another year I can post it
to him obviously he lives up in Scotland
and I know Scotland stays colder than
down here but I really don’t think he’s
in any rush for this so I’m just going
to this is going to be my Tuesday night
sitting in the car waiting for my son
knitting get about 2 and 1/ half hours
knitting in the car and I’m just going
to chump away at it now if you
remember I’ll put a picture here this is
the so basic sweater by Maxim sear if
you remember I started this sweater for
my husband going to Edinburgh last year
I think and he looked over at me with a
face of he’s terrible he always shows
what he’s feeling on his face which is
really bad um but and he could see him
screwing up his nose at the like he
chose in the color and do you remember I
just made a short sleeve and I wear it
myself now and this is the pattern so
hopefully Gordon won’t screw up his face
but it’s the so basic sweater and um he
loves blue so I’m doing it in this I
think that’s
maybe that’s pretty good maybe a wee bit
bright sh a wee bit brighter it is a
cone from it’s a four ply Marino wool
and it’s called kadis c a d i z and he’s
a 2X xale
on see 3.5 mm needles and 2.5 mm
needles so it will be a labor of love
especially with sleeves I’ve only put it
in that bag I haven’t got needles or WR
but I want to get it started for tonight
because obviously tonight’s Tuesday and
that’s another soft accents bag I
mean it just they just made me happy and
that is they’re called Ferrari bags
that’s what that means isn’t it um and
so that I’ll just be chugging away it
won’t be much to look at not be very
exciting I don’t think um podcast
viewing but anyway it’s a gift and um
want to want to knit that up and last
but not least my PL so the only thing
I’ve started is the morall and I’ve got
the ongoing uh Mari cury socks these are
all 2 be c 2 be cast on and it is in
this this bag from teake and make I
think this is yeah love her bags too if
you’ve watched before you know I love
bags as much as I love your and it’s a
massive bag really good
size and I mentioned way back I think at
Christmas that I wanted to knit the
artist Shaw I think everybody in their
dog has knit it or wants to knit it it’s
gorgeous um do I have the pattern
here
um you see it’s by moonu Knits who’s
Natasha
Hornby and um I pull I well you know I’m
useless at putting colors
together and I think I pulled out the
quarters of my stash yesterday it’s done
in sport but actually when I clicked on
the sport she used it was a finger wi so
as I say I don’t really um gaug watch
and so I pulled out what I wanted I knew
my base color that I wanted excuse me
um I knew the base color that I wanted
but then what do you put with it and I
have friends in my nck group who could
have helped me but I thought I would try
be a big girl and put some together
myself so I have two options I think I
know which option I want to go with
though and this is what I and you might
think what what are you doing but sure
you don’t know till you try that right
so the main color I’m using so you need
two of the main color for the top of the
shaw
no
that’s that’s it there it’s called ruby
slippers it’s corale sock 400 m from
giddy ant yarn was from Northern
Ireland no doubt I got it in a sale it’s
that’s not its true color how do I show
the true color sh two red it’s it’s very
you know it’s purpley Pinky Berry anyway
and then I’ve numbered these if how I
want to do them right I’m going to just
show them
so man
down right this may won’t show up it’s
the problem those are the colors that
I’m going to
do and I need a fifth color so do
I my daughter said to do this
one right which I love and they’re all
kind of sem Sam bases so it’s going to
be it’s going to be non Super Wash but
it’s not none of them are particularly
you know wooly wools um like there’s no
um bite in them that’s not titin in them
wish I could get this right that’s a
real pinky red okay or do I add this one
which I literally have to the millimeter
just enough
of see this isn’t going would be right
because these ones don’t look
right I’m just scared I’ll run out of
this
um and I just love that we pop a color
so un on a postcard please so this is
also gidy on Yarns this
is
litner then this is my favorite Al
Centum now this is more of a this is
heavier but when I compared the two it’s
you you use most of the for of the two
SK and then you use very little of the
of the other common SK so I think I have
enough this is this is 300 M in 100 G so
it is thicker but yet when you put it
alongside it looks fine so this is um
pink
Sharice then this is um I got this on
eBay oh way before lockdown this
standard D works and this is grubby p
and this is nons Super Wash bfl mashem
sorry I know she’s not dying anymore so
that’s quite they’re not dying anymore
so that’s quite a um special
skin then the two gyant Yarns then um I
got this in a d stach woolly mammoth
fibers um they were literally given I
think I think it was 10B and this is
normally about 26 really mouth fibers
and it is not natural sock and it’s the
color wild FL so these are what I’m
thinking now you might think this is a
bit of a wild card but that’s really not
sure these are not red these are oh Ruby
Slipper you can imagine it’s not bright
red whereas they’re coming up bright red
there now aren there so anyway we’ll see
I might do a Swatch off to see how they
play together but it’s very hard because
with the with the uh the way the pattern
is I’ll keep this and if I think the
goal is not working I’ll rethink it the
way the pattern is they all meld into
each other so it’s very hard I find it
very hard to sort of know I’ve looked
through all the Rivalry pictures I’ve
looked on kits I’ve looked everything to
get no ideas but I didn’t want to buy
anything so the way it all sort of melts
into each other so we’ll
see this is this is a mark one of what I
want to do but again I’ve put it in a
bag I haven’t added needles or anything
so I don’t know when that’ll be getting
cast
on is that everything that’s all the
stuff an hour I did say and I did warn
you on Instagram that it could be quite
long and I forgot to say that I have a
special guest coming at the end not very
long just a very special guest one of my
favorite people okay if you don’t want
to stay I’m going to talk a bit about
Edinburgh Ireland um some incoming stuff
which I oh there’s it’s very very little
don’t worry um oh forgot one
thing anyway and
um then the special guest at the end
just for about five minutes so if you
don’t want to stay for that I say thank
you so much thank you for coming if you
do want to say We’ll crack on thank you
um so yes uh Easter Monday we traveled
up to Edinburgh for meetings and um we
went through all four seasons in one day
and as I say um a car went on fire on
the road I don’t think anybody was hurt
but it meant that I think we went 10
miles in 3 hours and we were bred off I
tell you but we got there door to door 8
we left here at 8: a.m. and got to where
we were staying in Edinburgh for 8:00
p.m. so and we were all fine and we were
all well and it was like winter it was
like November the rain was coming
sideways it was freezing you have to
bear in mind I live down in the
southwest of England now I’ve gone
really
soft we used to live up in peterhead in
the most Northeast uh um northeasterly
spot of the UK so we were used to quot
weather and rain and all the rest of it
but oh my goodness it was freezen so I
had all the Willies on I had my
waterproof coat on which I had
waterproofed before we left and it was
not waterproof I think you’re scooting
even more even more oh no that’s not
good either anyway and um I was soaked
through to the crackers on the Monday
and on the Tuesday and I got a real good
going and cough and cold for the rest of
the time now all the little kids were
all coughing and spluttering too so
probably got it off them um on Monday um
I’ll put a few pictures up but whatever
uh on Monday uh I took the kids to the
castle I booked to go inside because um
uh my granddad died in World War II and
his name is in the memorial book and the
castle because he fought for Scotland um
in Arad and Southern Highlanders and we’
had never been into the Castle been to
the front of the castle and seen the
castle numerous times we’ve been I’ve
been to Edinburgh could more times than
I could count um but what a special time
only thing was it was bucketing and you
could see nothing you couldn’t even see
Princess Street it was fog and a bit a
we video on here and um I think it shows
the dog cemetery which my daughter loved
um dogs that were died in war and stuff
um and you couldn’t have taken hardly
any video because uh the my phone would
have been destroyed and we were soaked
to the skin but we still had a good time
and it was so interesting and as my son
said it was very atmospheric CU you
could imagine the soldiers there in that
kind of weather and their Kilts and
they’re you know looking out through the
the over the the the walls and
everything and all the rest of it so
they still enjoyed it and we got to see
my my granddad’s name you have to ask
permission
um you’re not allow to touch the books
so we got a lovely man in the um staff
to come over and they stood right beside
us and um they allowed me not only to
take photographs but they allowed me to
take a photograph of the book and of the
kids looking at the book and it was
really quite emotional I didn’t think it
would be because it was quite um it was
like a chapel so it was quite um um sort
of reverent there was very Whispers you
know nobody was making much noise and um
yeah it was just a nice day if you ever
go I defin I mean it only you need to be
able to walk was quite slippery it’s all
cobbles um and um it’s up and down and
up and down I think we did about 20,000
steps as we went down into Edinburgh
then and around some of the streets
there afterwards and we were so by the
time we got the bus home we were soaked
and um I don’t think I warmed up after
that and then the next day Tuesday ouren
didn’t start to Wednesday no the next
day wedding day or meain starts that
night I thought I know I’ll go and R
some of the orang shops and get a bit of
food
honestly talk about suffering for your
craft the water was running through me
by the time I got there because I wanted
to go to Ginger twist Studio but I got
the bus into the center of um into
Waverly uh and then I had to walk about
10 minutes probably but it there was no
I mean you couldn’t have kept an
umbrella up so I by the time I got to
the shop I was ringing as we would say
and it was packed so I didn’t take any
footage inside I mean really packed I
don’t know what we would have done if it
was the small Shop new shop is beautiful
um but there was probably 20 people in
it and had to wait to even see the are
you know uh which is great for them and
I think everybody had the same idea it
was a wet day it was a lot of forign you
could hear a lot of like I he German
accents Italian accents um and um
everybody had the same idea I think to
come to the orange shop but um I didn’t
so I just took a picture outside I’ll
show you that there um I say the new
Shop’s lovely I didn’t even go into the
material part um cuz by the time I got
there I was hot and bothered and took my
coat off and it was Dripping and oh it
was just you know but anyway I still
bought
something and this is what I bought now
bear in mind I had got a whole load of
new yarn the month before but I still
had a we bit of birthday money left and
I died this the last time I was there
and I think I either want to do um
another um Poncho what do you call it
Korean Poncho or I want to do a um just
short sleeve maybe another one of these
even um and it’s I thought I’m from
Ireland and I don’t knit with green yarn
very much so it’s not a flat color you
know you can see that’s it’s it’s
emerald green yeah there you go and it’s
Ginger twist studio and the actually the
color I wanted wasn’t there it’s called
Emerald City and it is uh oh gosh it’s
small masham Mayhem DK I’m the age to
take glasses off to see small print um
75% British blue face Lester 25% British
massm and I got three skes and it’s um
240 M so it’s a good a good meterage for
doesn’t it doesn’t look um you know it’s
not a fine
DK but so that was all I got there and I
bought a liner magazine for a friend
should ask me to pick it up so that was
all I bought there and it was they gave
me they gave me it in a paper bag and it
had to take it disintegrated by the time
I got it um anywhere and then I walked
down there and thought oh I’m so wet
I’ll go into a coffee shop but the we
coffee shop next door was packed too so
I just s to partt and I walked back up
the street and went to Cathy’s knits and
it’s a good way walk down the street too
I sort I’ve been there before but you do
sort of feel like I’m ever going to get
to it and um it’s downstep it’s not
accessible so it’s downsteps it would be
the v a Victorian house probably where
the servant quarters were great we shop
well worth it um um but I dripped in
there to I had to take my Cod off cuz it
was so warm by the time I got there and
um had to take my cat off and everything
there too so I was I felt a bit
embarrassed and I just got two we SKS
there um it’s my that stage I just
thought I just want to go home and I
still had a wee bit wee bit to walk to
get to the bus now last year when I was
there I bought um two SK of this and
I’ve never knit with it and I think it’s
because sorry Russell Russell so the SK
I bought last year it’s 250 gram skin
these are the ones I bought last year
lovely earthy um green and these are the
ones I bought this year like a pinky all
of the reds are showing up too it’s like
a it’s like a pinky red in
fact it’s the same as
this anyway and I thought actually I’ll
do something together for Christmas and
it’s idil
Yarns maybe that shows it better um and
it’s jumper weight 50 g 173 M and I’ve
got two of them 100% organic na of
Shetland wool from a very small flock
and that’s kind of my you know some
souvenir yarn from
um I’ll put those in later from Scott so
that’s all I got I mean it still cost
money but that’s all I got and it’s the
money is well and truly spent spent
spent spent and no
more um then um on the Sunday we
finished meetings on the Saturday on
Sunday um my husband dropped us to the
airport and Eva and myself and um they
drove back down they got they drove down
Samuel and him got um nine hours on the
way back so it wasn’t too bad and we
flew over to see my mom and dad and I
was dosed so I didn’t do anything didn’t
go anywhere uh did I go
anywhere don’t think it did just felt
rotten and um quite happy to just s do
nothing Eva blesser went went a few
places with my mom and um she went to a
meeting my dad was taken in a church
where I grew up and she met lots of
people who remember me from whenever was
um early sort of childhood to early
teens and um she she enjoyed that I
didn’t know if she would or not but she
enjoyed meeting people hearing stories
about me and all the rest of it so
that’s our we trip um going nowhere in
the near future um my daughter is GCS e
her first exam is on Thursday day um and
then um her French oral and then her
proper GCSE start um at early May so
we’re grounded um um she seems to be
doing okay she’s a clever weird and um
loves to learn so um I have one who
loves to learn and one who doesn’t want
to learn anything so we’ll see how that
goes um so that’s that’s a we bit of a
Life Update um but I did say that I had
a special guest and when I was home I
asked my dad if he would just do a we
Indy bit chat for me you know if you’ve
watched before you know from my my
scripture text in the wall that I’m a
Christian and I did grw up in a
Christian home my dad was a minister for
many years in Northern Ireland and um he
um is 84 this year so he’s still
preaching but maybe just not as much and
I asked him to do just a we devotion and
it’s just a we quick 5 minutes I
couldn’t believe it was over as quick as
he and because he’s not known for us
being short but I’m just going to that
in now and then I’ll come back to my
name is Tom Show I’m Ruth’s father and
you’re famili familiar with Ruth from
our podcast Ruth L tet she’s asked me
just to say a little message to you
today and I want to read the 23rd psalm
this is a well-known Psalm it’s the
testimony of King David and I hope it
will be a blessing to you the Lord is my
shepher I shall not want he maketh me to
lie down in Green Pastures he leadth me
me beside the Still Waters he restoreth
my soul he leadth me in the paths of
righteousness for his name sake ye
though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death I will fear no evil for
thou art with me thy Ro and thy staff
they comfort me thou preparest a table
before me in the presence of my enemies
thou anointest my head with oil my cup
runneth over surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me oh all the days of my
life and I will dwell in the house of
the Lord
forever from this Psalm that I’ve just
read to you we have the great testimony
of David the psalmist and he tells us
three very important things in this
Psalm and I want to Le them with you
today first of all he tells us that
Jesus is all we need in life many people
think we need other things in life money
and a lot of other things but the suon
says Jesus is all I need in life he says
this the Lord is my shepherd I shall not
want and when you have Jesus you have
all you need for living you have all you
need for life and Jesus is a wonderful
friend in the Journey of Life the second
thing that the psalmist tells us here is
this that Jesus is all we’ll have in
death ye though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death I will
fear no evil for thou art with me thy
rod and thy staff they comfort me your
friends and family are very good when it
comes to our dying ours they can wipe
our brow they can stroke our hand they
can say a lot of nice things but when it
comes to the Valley of the Shadow once
we pass through death we have no one
else to go with is only Jesus he’s the
only one who can go through this and you
know he’s been through it before we know
that he died on the cross and he rose
again and Jesus is the the one that we
the lonely one that we have in death and
I trust that when you come to die you
will have that Savior and his presence
through the valley of the shadow of
death and the third thing that David
tells us here in this Psalm is this that
Jesus is all we’ll want in eternity
there is a life after death and for
those who trust Jesus as their savior
Heaven is the end of our journey it’s
the beginning of our journey in many
ways but it’s the end of our journey
here in life and S says that Jesus is
all we want in life there are many many
wonderful things in heaven many things
that I couldn’t describe heaven is a
wonderful place but Jesus will be the
central figure when we get to heaven and
the Samus says this ye though I walk
through the valley yes he’ll be there
but surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life and I
will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever now I just leave these three
little Thoughts with you today Jesus are
all we need in life Jesus is all we have
in death and Jesus is all we will want
in eternity and I trust that God will
bless these little thoughts to you it’s
nice to speak to you today and may God
bless you each one
amen so I hope you um enjoyed that we um
epilogue I suppose you would call it I
hope um you got something out of that
the psalm 23 is always a blessing to me
anyway that’s it folks that’s it for
super long bumper length episode but you
were warned um and I hope that you’ve
some got some inspiration some um
knitting patterns people always message
me and say oh because of you I ended up
buying two or three patterns um join in
my Cal tnp year 24 join in the girls nit
the family cal um hashnet theam Cal and
until I see you again keep on knitting
