I like to untangle the roots a little bit, but don’t overdue it. It will stress the plant out. After they are a little untangled just place it in a slightly larger container and backfill with your favorite mix. 🙂

I have cut off half of the roots of a monstera before, because I read that it would make the monstera more efficient. I do not know if it became more efficient but I did not notice any shock by the plant. So you can trim a little but don’t overdue it
