  1. ❤🎉Today is my 12th anniversary of “Late Bloomer!” What a journey it’s been. When I have a chance maybe tomorrow I am going to film some reflections so you’ll have that to look forward to!

  2. great video, thank you for sharing. every thing looks beautiful. and the cats are sooo sweet. congratulations on your anniversary.

  3. Hello my darling in purple. Your video & homestead work is 1st class. Get a lower back, brace. Bend with the knees. Keep your back straight.💜☮️☯️⚖️🌎🇺🇲

  4. I love it. We’re called to be good stewards of the land. Maybe you left some plants that have medicinal properties you may need later. I’ve been learning so much about the “weeds” and “invasive” wildflowers we have. And “weeds” like ‘Self Heal/Heal All’ and so many others. In fact almost every weed or wildflower I’ve researched seems to have some medicinal property to it. Some of them just tell us directly in their name like ‘Bone Knit’ aka Comfrey and ‘Bone Set’. And berries are in the ‘Vaccinium’ genius … interesting. I looked up one the other day and it way Lyreleaf Sage, it was so pretty and looked a little like Penstemon. It is also known by another name “cancerweed” although I haven’t researched why yet.

Either way your garden is beautiful and the bees 🐝 and butterflies 🦋 will love it.

Side note: I heard from somewhere the dock species was named that because it healed/treated so many things.

  5. Not such a crazy idea in my opinion. Flowers for the pollinators, a few more medicinal plants for you, and your garden crops too. Works for me!

  6. Hello there dear kaye, a very happy blessed birthday, late bloomer ,homestead. My very first ever yu tube lady to watch and follow. I think ever since you moved to there.and I love everything about you znd your land and creatures, flowers, bugs, weeds ,oh dear all except that naughty poison ivy.😮.oh kaye as you walked up towards the compost s I thought that from a distance it looked like they were on top a huge ant nest,do have your young gardener to check..I know that afterwards you said there were some inside. Oh dear,,please don't worry how the repair looks, it s serving a great purpose. Look at al, you have created. Oh with natures help too.xxim so overwhelmed with what to say,the beautiful greens and flowers, wild and tame, take, so heavenly kaye.well done, and huge hugs for you and the kits too.xxx.i could just sit on a comfy seat with a nice cup of tea and feel wonderful there for hours.xxxwish we could give you huge gold star, or red bloomer star.and many thumbs up.love you so much,yu tube friend xxx😊from Heather, xxand my garden girls 🐔. Xx

  7. I have more Vetch every year even though I try to pull it, or at least break the top off, before it seeds. I think it also spreads underground.

  8. I love the wildflowers the state plants along the middle of our highway mediums that is usually just grass. All sorts of flowers, sprinkled all over the place sometimes. These flowers are so tempting I often wish I could stop my car, get out and walk through the beauty in the wild!

  9. You know what Kaye, i dont think leaving those cover crops and flowers was that crazy! I love it. It will draw so many bees to your garden! Those crimson clover are just gorgeous, i love their color! Im all for this experiment!
For those ants, you can boil a huge pot of water and pour it down their hole. Do it 2 or 3 times, should take care of them!

  10. Your wildflower meadow is so beautiful and glad you only took down part of it. Yes be so careful of poison ivy on the cats. I swear if I just look at that plant I will get it thru the air. I don't have a compost bin yet but not sure how you keep other animals out on the one you have. We don't have fire ants in our area yet but know they are a major problem in the garden. Love your purple hat too!

  11. I think it’s a great idea! Making paths through the wildflowers never know until you try…

  12. I just want you to know. Im starting my garden journey this year. I have grown some but only in containers. They didnt do well. I got discouraged and didnt try again for a while till this year. Ive never been taught anything about it and i REALLY want to learn. I watched a video of yours identifying a bunch of stuff. Then i went out in my garden/yard and found plantain & dead nettle. Im so excited. Ive been wanting to learn foraging and gardening for so long now. Thank you for sharing. What app do you use for help identifying?
