Native Plant Gardening

How long do you wait?!?

Hello!

For the last year, I have been collecting native species seeds (I am in mid-Missouri). Then, over this winter, I cold stratified them and then planted them in cells. I also purchased some native species seeds from reputable sources and put them in my indoor growing area as well, stratifying if necessary/required.
Some of the seeds have gone absolutely crazy in my cells, some have not.
HOWEVER….my question is…how long do you leave these seeds in their cells to germinate??? When do I give up on them, then plant something new in their cell?!?

I am totally ok with a 50% or so germination rate (I get it), but for ones that have just NOT come up at all…..when do I give up on them??

TIA for any advice!!

I generally wait until at least the end of May or beginning of June. By then almost everything has germinated… but I’m up in MN so things probably start a little later than in MO. I don’t really know if you could start a lot of species in the “un-germinated” cells once you get to June (maybe some no pre-treatment native species I guess?).
