garden Adventure a nursery tour and more
so welcome you all ready to dig in let’s
dig in let’s
[Music]
go okay we’re at the West Tiki right
John yeah we’re at the West Tiki of the
nursery can you tell us a little bit
about this and how the how the nurs your
Nursery is laid out cuz it’s very large
well it started that you know we only
had one nursery on the east side of the
property but as we got older in age and
larger in size we needed to somehow take
care of our customers needs and so we
opened up this during the covid years
and we have the beautiful Tiki here
beautiful absolutely and it’s brand new
it it’s like brand new and we have
outdoor furniture here but we the most
important thing is we have two registers
so if you come and the front parking lot
might be a little bit crowded and backed
up I want you to immediately turn left
on the southernmost Road of the nursery
and drive straight to the back which is
straight west lot of extra parking there
250 spots of of parking are available to
US enter through our our West Tiki here
and enjoy yeah there and what we’ll do
now if it’s okay John he’s going to walk
us through and show you all the really
cool plants that they have at their
nursery and I mentioned in the intro
more there is a lot more that they I’m
so excited yeah we’re GNA we’re going to
go do that now all right let’s go come
on let’s take a walk through the nursery
take a
walk like the temperature out today
Michael yeah nice huh temperature is
beautiful right now we’re entering into
our shaded Westside shade area this is
for verm milads shade plants and
Landscape shade plants beautiful so
please come and enjoy uh this is only a
sampling of what we carry in our shade
house up front of the front of the
nursery but boy oh boy this gets to
display some beautiful beautiful things
do you know what Michael Michael’s
pointing John to the gorilla that’s not
me Michael well that that is now that’s
not me that’s a statue Michael that is
Sasquatch Sasquatch or Bigfoot Bigfoot
Michael likes these colors right Michael
this is the color you wanted to see
today the ground Orchid he loves this
purple right here Michael I like yep
there we go look at this beautiful
beautiful plant isn’t that Michael you
like that color that’s one of my
favorites too purple as you can see at
my shirt uh so yes uh beautiful
beautiful ground orchids and purple is
the color of the day some of those in my
front yard yeah they’re great don’t they
do great and now I have some shade Brads
which are really really going to be
colorful red candles back there nice
very sculptural really cool as Michael
said it’s it’s very good sculptural for
the for the landscape and some eilia
tricolor which is a little bit smaller
than this one which is that has that has
that that color to them but but look at
this blue this this is beautiful there
you go that’s our bestseller that’s
called the bmad odor so pretty wow oh
Helicon is above the heliconia is above
we have different varieties as you will
see right over here I have the orange
variety mhm we have one that has a
little red to it and then I have some I
believe with pink wow and uh so it’s
there’s so much for you to choose from
over here oh this is great Michael I
don’t know if you are familiar with this
plant the clar odendron yes the light
bulb not the light bulb this isol one
has the little uh flower stays really
tight and gives us the illusion of a
light bulb totally and then they do open
up into those beautiful flowers down
here wow okay uh clear odendron and they
Cascade you know they Cascade beautiful
right well these are larger specimens of
them where the flowers have left but
that this is only one so they’re just
and here right here oh there’s a great
example look at this one
guys W isn’t this cool and is so so
staff you love them yeah what do you
think
Co
nice beautiful there so many and it’s
one thing John is that all the years
I’ve been doing this all the years we’ve
been doing this there’s new stuff that
the The Growers and the uh I keep saying
bot botanist the botanist keep coming up
and helping in Nursery men in general
are hybridizing and bringing new plants
all the time all the time and and it’s
so much fun to be able to share these
with our customers yeah you just want to
make sure they’re not invasive plants
and that’s where you could always check
with us and other folks to to make sure
that you have oh John we this one
everyone loves this on our Channel we’ve
done a video on this sorry Amy the
variegated sunrose the variegated
sunrose I’m trying to find one with a
beautiful red flower on it we’ll show
them here with overlay so it’s but what
a great plant great plant for edging
plants in the nursery on the ground
great plant for containers and to
Cascade over and it almost looks like a
and look at Michael found one with the
flower look at that Hawkeye yeah amazing
look at there it goes right there nice
and there’s another one right down there
oh yeah look at that they’re so fun and
then there’s it’s than you Nikki we do
have a green variety of this
also oh yes oh there’s another one there
I I like the variegated I love the
variated better I think this is a little
that flower is just come on everybody
this is so cool it’s so cute we we we
brought one over to Amy’s house I had
these in pots you could grow these in
pots absolutely and we put it and it
actually cascaded and is now growing and
rooted in here in her yard yeah is fun
it’s great one I have several but one of
them it’s literally just nice that’s I
love I love the plant it’s just exactly
what you’re saying it just performs so
well it does it does
so as we walk through the nursery here
now we’re coming into Vines over here
sure look at all the vines y’ wow we
have some some fantastic Vines we’ll do
we can make it when we get to the other
side this is these are my short Hedges
on this side here so I mean I love the
dwarf CL Nana
Nana yeah Nana this is this one you guys
this isn’t this is this is a pro tip for
sure this one is great A lot of people
use the G feta a little bit larger one
and that gets real bushy this one stays
moderate
size 3T and it’s beautiful right next to
it is a little Black Mondo Grass which
different this is so cool look at
that a that cool Michael like look like
your hair haircut that’s that feels
different though right yeah we started
bringing these in from Monrovia so you
know all these junipers and stuff like
that they’re coming in this is one of my
favorites here I love this Sissa which
we had out back as you saw coming in but
look at how shiny the these leaves are
yeah what a great little small hedge um
and you could you could train this uh
the Sissa to be really tight and you can
do with something formal if you want or
you can let it get pushy and remind me
on the way out I have it brand new in
one gallon containers right walking in
the main entrance but there it’s if it’s
like 5 months old and it is the tightest
most adorable 1 foot tall hedge a
beautiful Michael has a question he
would you to ask tell us about this guy
over here this this flowering Vine is
that okay John I’ll come over here
absolutely unless you want to wait till
we get all the way around yeah let’s go
around what do we got here John we have
some fun stuff this is somebody after my
own heart bottle brush little little
John this is a short head short one very
short nice so yes we have this and then
this is is that Pringles or is that just
this is Pringles this is the PO carpus
Pringles po carpus Pringles which is
stays lower they’re taller the taller
one which is great we did this on our
Mii short see it right back there yall
it gets very tall and it can form a nice
screen I love it and it’s very sturdy
once gets absolutely yes great yeah and
I know we’re bouncing around everybody
but the nursery is so cool and big
that’s the Nana we talked about just two
seconds ago this is the other clusia the
small Leaf this one gets much bigger as
we see in the back see in the back and
so you can do a really good screen if
you want to hide some big utilities but
the Nana if you have a smaller home or a
smaller thing you want to screen or just
have a nice hedge that one works really
well and they’re very tough oh you got
you got it’s natives here too look at
all the natives if you’d like to learn
more about native plants here are three
videos I created in the past I’ll leave
a link in the description box below in
case you want to see those videos you
know in our Hedges we cast iron yeah and
one one of the ones that we’re using in
here quite a bit now is Japanese
Blueberry Blueberry we we are loving it
and we we install this and sell a lot of
this to our these really cool red leaves
like it it reminds us of the of the Fall
you know in the in the north you know
changing of the leaves but this one does
it naturally yeah this is a cool plant
has a little bit of look like a wax
myrtle Leaf but it nice mediumsized tree
now and I’m going to show you some that
we have these in pom poms that have been
formed in pom poms look at this here so
now we have these beautiful pom poms
Japanese blueberries okay Japanese
blueberries that are that are are just
fabulous these 45 gallon or 75 G uh
those are 45 wow
big guys and we sell these all the time
all day long and it’s not super super
aggressive growing so you can maintain
it oh this is easily and one of the
things that I don’t know if I mentioned
earlier but this this has a a very
fragrant white flower which forms under
underside of the leaves so they come out
again they’re a little trumpet shaped
flower nice smaller though but a nice
fragrance fragrance you walk by you go
what am I smelling and so then and then
as the name would have it blueberry the
Japanese blueberry then after the flower
petals fall off then it turns into a
blueberry definitely does but we very
rarely get to see it because the birds
come birds love it and so it’s Wildlife
attractive that’s great yeah it’s
fantastic Palm a whole Palm section
which we’ve did in another video with
John fruit trees over here
now so if we want some fragrance Amy
come here y Michael come here just watch
this these do have stems but smell that
oh my goodness isn’t that nice the oh
the Citrus fragrance did you smell that
now when you see when you yeah when when
you see and see be around I know I can
smell it from here oh no they hey little
guy and what what it is you this is the
Citrus smell that we the all the the
perfume people try to simulate you know
how do how do we get that Citrus mod
amazing just suck this citrus
I love I know me too I come by here and
just smell a 100 times a day it’s just
amazing nature Nature’s perfume man ah
oh look at all these fruites you have
you have mangoes rightn you have citrus
right here I have citrus I have come
quad I you know what in the citrus
family I have gra fruit I have
grapefruit there you go there’s lime
trees I have key limes I have Persian
limes them I have Bears limes um one
thing people have to be uh aware of and
careful is that citrus green which is
which is a problem but getting healthy
stock is super important and these guys
are really good we Tred to really
prevent that because it is becoming more
and more of a problem yeah it’s a sh
they’re working on solutions for that
always check with IUS and some folks on
things that they’re trying to do
hopefully some biological controls but
but the this really healthy and I and
you guys we’re not kidding you when
these guys flower they’re just amazing
the same and I say that so much it’s I’m
almost like a broken record here because
what the gardinia scent the the the
Jasmine smells great but Citrus love
that that Citrus for me it embolizes
like old Florida because everybody just
Indian River County you drove through
there and on the way back to school
Gainesville would drive through it and
it would just be a I’m dating myself
that was that’s me too me too but uh
because it is no more but that’s windows
down and you just inhale the Citrus
fragrance fragrance is something just
have to be proud so you know and then we
walk and we have mangoes and we have a
nice mango section then we have look at
the the Julie mango over there that
flowering already and I love that that’s
one of our best sellers because it’s
tasty and the Glen super tasty I know
all of them are just delicious they have
so many car is another one of my
favorites car’s a great one too yeah
car’s an awesome awesome so we try to
carry carry those uh and uh and you even
have you have the bananas and you also
have all come let’s walk you want
fragrance yeah this is something Micha
let’s take a whiff of that it smells
here crush this up put it in your hand
and smell that Crush that up put it in
your hand and smell that oh oh cloy I
want to
smell yeah it’s like you put it in ham
like you have that clove smell
that smell that all spice now that’s not
that’s not our bay leaf okay great
they’re similar have they similar simar
very much so uh our star fruit the
carambolas carambolas super po love we
have dragon fruit in the back nice okay
we have the strawberry tree which is one
of my favorites I love the strawberry
tree when it get when it gets bigger
look at these cute little white flowers
that it has it possesses and then it has
fruits you just come along and pick
those little fruits and eat got a whole
edible for this is this is our tropical
fruit area nice right here here here we
are the southern magnolia which this is
the dwarf variety John you had one
blooming over there absolutely and we
grabbed a scent from it oh it knocks
your sock off it’s it’s like the Grand
Duke which I think is your favorite
flowering scent and this one’s this
one’s so close and mine is the Amy
gardinia I love the gardinia but they
all have these wonderful sensual this is
a tough plant Hibiscus yeah th this
people go nuts for hibiscus John
look at this hibiscus I’m a sucker for
hibiscus now they’ll only flour for a
day and then they’ll pop out new new
flowers the next day for you let’s walk
down this way if we want to see
more come on Michael I’m going to show
you some beautiful ones look at these
look at this these really don’t look
real aren’t those fantastic stunning
yeah stunning look at the beef feeding
be getting the nectar and pollen look at
that
col too yeah oh of course look at look
at my real ones over here now this is
the real section wow wow look at this sh
oh my God come on you guys look at
that I’m such a sucker for high biscus
I’ve always had since I was a kid John
the color the quality this quality is so
good you all thank you oh and it’s so
important to buy good quality plants
okay this there look at this Michael put
your hand down I want don’t you show how
big the flow is in the side porn
hibiscus each flow falls off they’re
only good for one day so you look for
stuff that has one Buds and then they
keep blooming for we’re going to go eat
on and off for us all year you’re
welcome has variegated leaves
this I did have I did have uh you said
apricot I
apricot um that was a double oh you got
a double oh so come on down
here oh it’s just beautiful
so there we
go I just you can’t it just is as good
as it gets this is s I mean this Good As
It Gets right there yeah you have a suer
butterfli that just flew in behind you
there we
go they like to come over and land on me
too Michael if I hold my hand out they
will they love you you look right on the
Hibiscus over there you all doing their
thing
just Nature’s the best right look at it
and then look at this beautiful yellow
one over here Michael
sure oh the one with the
camera look at that a that
pretty oh uh-huh light
yellow isn’t it so nice John yeah g i
I’m the sucker for color but I have a my
heart is it’s not a Florida native but
boy it is just a plant for South Florida
love I
it’s almost like Wax isn’t it our friend
Andrea wore these in her ear that’s
right remember past and she broke the
statement off it was so funny when that
happen just said you’re doing great take
a look at Andrew’s flow this the stam’s
already snapped in half but don’t
worry don’t worry don’t worry we’ll get
you another one okay so beautiful you do
yeah yeah I mean I want like all of them
Nikki right I want the light yellow one
yeah now Michael remember that light bul
this is the same family okay so this is
the same family so you can kind of see
the resemblance with the end of this
flower let me get out of there with the
end of
that yeah and you can see how it
resembles that that little but boy the
that shooting star right this is
shooting star it has a massive array
right behind us we can see some more
they they’re just so powerful when they
bloom there’s one here there’s one back
there just
just covered in white and those
beautiful like reddish purple
red stems stems for the flower stock wow
John so nice we’re not even in like one
tenth of the nursery y hope you guys are
in for a fun Long Walk oh yeah now we
enter our Vine section we could just
spend a whole day here but we have
passion Vines both purple red and blue F
uh we have our bleeding hearts which you
know we have we have the purple we also
should have the just like the the light
bulb and the same family and then we
have the sky Vine which is our fastest
growing vine here and Stephanie look at
this color Stephanie loves these colors
right step that color this is our
fastest growing one of her favorite
colors you plant this and it will just
this will take off it could go up
several stories so I want to let you
know I I usually have people over here
at that and I look over where Love is in
the garden okay the plant the original
mother plant was planted at the front of
the nursery almost th000 ft away so over
time it has made its way that way wow
John just so you know your butterfly has
come to say hello to you that’s my
mother-in-law you know that’s time John
here we that’s my mother-in-law she is
so sweet she comes to make sure I’m at
work and she was landing on the of
course the the passion the passion Vines
okay yeah super popular with butterflies
over there there’s a pink one an orange
one and a yellow one yep and they have
white it’s so pretty well she might have
been thinking that she needed to come
see the Dutchman’s pipe here butterfly
attractor as well butterfly attractor
and we carry a lot of butterfly tractors
here at the nursery and all over so just
come and talk to any associate and they
will guide you but we care we we have a
whole butterfly section butterfly
section in of its own yeah I know we did
a video with John on that that’s right
what is it called your restaurant you
call it restaurant oh well no I have
restaurant Road right cuz when we get to
the lantas you know that’s the number
one Steakhouse for any butterflies in
South Florida so we will continue to
talk about that behind there okay okay
okay now if we can John Michael wants to
be standing in the back of this Vine cuz
he really wants to know about this one
there he is running over there everybody
here he comes here he comes here he
comes there he is he coming
in
and is called
pandere yes okay but Pandera trumpet
vine where what what happened in the W
oh that’s okay he’s not going to hurt
you come on over by me that’s that’s my
change of plans he’s like okay Nature’s
doing its thing but I’m coming back got
a run yeah come on come on Michael get
over here but look at the beauty of that
flower is it just spectacular that’s
just amazing I
know what do you think Nikki she’s
gorgeous they hurt come on what do you
think of this Micha it’s amazing how
nature makes these colors and I know
right nature does the coolest things
right Nikki and they make it inviting
you know for birds and insects and
there’s always re probably this is
probably this is the shape in a much
smaller if you look at smaller flowering
plants for hummingbirds this trumpet
shape this I’m not sure if this may or
may not for a hummingbird because they
only have so much where they can pull
out the the N the nutrients from the the
nectar within but this shape you all if
you if you look at smaller like the
native salvan and other plants that have
that trumpet shape that are our major
hummingbird ATT tubular is what I was
Tau that when they have that tubular
throat that comes like this and they Bo
and then it trumpets out like this it
sets inviting to the the hummingbirds
and this Confederate jasmine next to it
this scent too John right oh my gosh
it’s a big seller and and it almost
turns Pure White when it goes into bloom
it’s yeah it just we had this on our
trellis at our home and the shores love
that
just so many Michael look bees over here
look at that y’all that’s I just love
watching and there’s Sally Holmes that’s
a climbing rose that’s Sally Holmes The
Climbing Rose and it’s really fragrant
and uh it’s just a lovely lovely this
Amy take us with scent over here
Amy I love you I’m your brother I
wouldn’t treat I wouldn’t put you in
Harm’s Way Amy Joseph coach another
climber which again is fragrant but look
at the color on those yeah
wow so
nice I get here and I go stepanus you
talk about another lovely fragrant frag
one and and like the light bulb you
mentioned the the flowers is they they
loop around there so many of them and
it’s it’s just so really cool Vine God
we have to do it we’d love to come do a
video just on your Vines we can do that
cuz there’s so many we we’re just
touching and this is our ground cover
section okay so now what we have are our
ground covers and we could cover them
I’m not going to go plant by plant but
we offer a good array of them so people
can come and and just really take care
of any of the ground cover needs uh the
blue days are blue my mind mind we got
to love it love that love that kind of
blue cuz it’s it’s just a vibrant
vibrant almost like the the other Vines
we’re looking at that we’re flowering
ban via classic for color
right yeah you so nice cuz some of them
like the barbar cars and the James
Walker have bigger Thorns but boy
they’re profuse flowers so beautiful and
boy when they’re in bloom like this
Imperial oh my God come on you guys look
at
that I I’m the sucker for color but I
have a my heart is it’s not a fora
native but boy it is just oh yeah the
imperialist
here are my friends here this my date oh
it is out my
date that’s kind of like how I feel if I
don’t have coffee in the
[Laughter]
morning I was awesome Amy we’re
recording that’s my sister for you and
you have the colano here likeo are in
blue does this just look fake you all
that looks like a a plastic plant but
it’s real it’s real look at the colors
look at that it’s so vibrant and I’m
going to do a backdrop with their
wonderful Central fountain that wraps
around the the plants just wrap around
this Fountain
area wow these are tough but these
actually like the sun they do love the
Sun but they’re here only because
they’re on sale this week you know so so
we have what we call our flock special
and as a flock member which means you
give me your phone number and you give
me your name and if you so desire you
can give me your email address and then
every Wednesday you receive this really
beautiful colorful what’s happening at
Flamingo Road nursery and you can get
some good deals and you get deals like
buy one get one we have bogos everywhere
here at the nursery as a flock B oh I’m
a huge BOGO fan just beautiful John
Stephie wanted to know if we could go
see Bonsai now absolutely I’m going to
introduce you Tyler and look Stephanie
here we are so here we go this for you
Steph so you can be here we go
into
okay look at all these Bonsai this Tyler
over here Tyler is
here John look at this come on no isn’t
this great this Fus isn’t this amazing
about 75 years old wow guys you know
this is what bonsai is all about Tyler
oh my God I
got wow let me get out of the way wow
an’t that beautiful wow Tyler has has
wired it up he has lights on it when at
Christmas time so this can show you we
can show you some of the smaller ones uh
inside I’ll just stay out way
fory here we’ll go touch base with Tyler
and uh and see what he has to say look
at the TR but isn’t this isn’t this
amazing wow John look at this how many
hands everyone put their hands up there
how many hands acrosses it one two three
fourel get in there put your hand I want
to see how many hands across look at
that John a still we got some room what
wow what a beautiful beautiful
plan and they have more look at this
Bonsai y
all wow this is so sculptural John oh
noler is doing so good Tyler he’s busy
right now y’all but when he’s available
we’ll we’ll have some time to talk yes
and and Tyler does put workshops on so
you can come a couple times a month you
come and the greatest thing in the world
and I’ve suggest this to anybody that
wants to get in the Bonsai is to take
Tyler’s class there Workshop because
what happens is you walk in and you have
a quote unquote pre- bonsai plant in
front of you you have an open pot and
you have tools and Tyler will teach you
how to wire the plant into the pot Inc
and then the basics of design and then
when you walk out you have your first
Bonsai so then Bonsai is an art form to
me and it passes from it’s generational
and so if you make your first one up
pass it down to your kids it’s great yes
yes I mean look Michael this is all this
is probably we put this on the ground
this is almost as tall as you
buddy this was one of Tyler’s uh you
know passions he had a dream and he
wanted to have something that anybody
could stand at any angle and it would
create something new that’s beautiful
and so I mean take a picture from this
side and then go around take a picture
from the other side and it’s a whole
different perspective Amy yeah everybody
everybody wave no Stephanie get in there
I want to see your face everyone go
around everyone’s going to be in there
Tyler’s Tyler’s little Bonsai Oasis all
right now move for Michael Michael you
zoom your head in there Steph move out
of the way Michael go in there if you
can put your go on tippy toes no come
over here so we can see you all right
now where’s John John’s coming
in nice wow but look at this perspective
from this way Michael it’s just
amazing and he he is just so talented
just
beautiful oh I just love the grace and
it’s just the age of her just like it’s
been here a thousand years exactly and I
love the way he he takes care of the
groundwork you know and they just greens
it the Mosses just it’s like Amy said
it’s like a movie set you can look at
the Shadows of the the sun dappling
through the Tre that’s so beautiful God
Tyler is so
gifted I’m a sucker for Bonsai too
always been and you know the junipers
are such great natural plants AB
absolutely love them for that so as you
can see we can start out with very small
uh young ones and then we work our way
up we can so many y’ all so
many wow and he has even pottery that
you can buy the pots to put your Bonsai
into oh yeah we have Pottery on the
other side
wow this is the the elephant bush it
is nice great isn’t that beautiful now
say that’s a great specimen too you can
see over here small ones yep elephant
bush makes a great Bonsai
yep
beautiful I’m telling you though right
Michael this one’s
crazy knocks my sock
off
wow
yeah oh is that your favorite oh the
variegated elephant bush these are so
cutey so that’s your favorite your
birthday look at Theo Anda that he does
see look at look at whoa I have not seen
a Bugan via done in Bonsai oh
yeah he’s training it there we go yes he
does so actually Michael what you’re
what those are the white part is the
flower these are actually modified a
leaves that are the uh the
colorful the brat yes paying around you
can see some more of the
nursery and we’ll cut back over
here isn’t that
adorable tall little puppy so over here
John we so now we’re going to start
entering into our annual area okay and
obviously this is what provides us color
shortterm color and so we can do I when
I talk design work to people I talk
about foundational planting we get our
foundation plants and then we come in
and we can plug in color look at this
like a it’s like a wild a wild flower
Meadow that’s just amazing and the
butterflies and here’s my mother-in-law
again to came say hello to Amy I almost
landed on her plant pairings because we
talked about candre on another one and
that this I love yellow and purple
together me too white goes with
everything which is cool you can do that
I always tell people white needs to be
in the garden to accentuate and bring
out the color of the other
flowers John yes Michael has a question
how how much are
they Michael wants to buy something for
for his garden we coming over here
detour
yall they’re
$1.99 all of our annuals are $1.99 each
so you like the patunas huh yes I love
them
aren’t they beautiful you love that
purple color don’t you it’s really look
at look at how rich that looks we’ll
pick one up for your mom on our way out
how’s that yeah I I like one for myself
as well okay well we can we can handle
that for you and this this is where the
all of the butterflies come to
eat right behind us and I want to tell
you I can I know I can walk over gol I
see a gulf rary right over there here
look at there here’s my mother-in-law
coming around again you know but the
lantas the bees are this this is the
number one Steakhouse right here lantas
they’re all around because this is
butter butterfly Village here yeah got
all the milke weeds and stuff they’re
going crazy
for wow just look at
this look at this isn’t this beautiful
it’s so cool don’t you love it all these
Sal Adventure here yeah all the Salvia
it’s fun to come with people and just
and you know Salvia is the
sage plant that we eat for you know our
herb is in the Salvia family so one of
the things I always love to do with
people is take this and say smell each
and every one of these leaves Am smell
the leaves like smell the leaf because
each and every one of the Salvia okay
there’s one called pineapple sage okay
which I love that grows in Northern
California quite a it and smells just
like a pineapple so each and every one
of these has a distinct fragrance wow so
enjoy it not only for the flowers but
for the fragrance yeah yeah and then in
nature and bringing in nature which is
great bees need our help and look at
this we just just your Nursery alone is
helping the the bee populations there’s
so many well the owner they’re not here
to harm you they just want to do their
thing yeah Mr deselle when he started if
you will look at this beautiful mural
okay he put the monarch butterfly at the
end he hired a fellow to come in and you
know to paint this because when he
started the nursery he says I want to
encourage the monarch butterfly
population oh that’s and he says that’s
why I have milkweed that’s why we do
what we do here is because of so
important yeah it’s great if we can I’d
love to talk to you about your beautiful
shade house let’s walk to the shade
house an interesting thing Michael that
takes place that our buyer in the gift
shop found as these beautiful beautiful
pieces of plastic and as you can see if
you look at each Edge it looks looks
like it’s illuminated it is and
this this polish inventor invented this
plastic but as he was making things he
noticed that the edge collected all of
the available light the ambient light
and let it come out the sides so this is
not powered by electricity this is not
none of these are plugged into
electricity so I want to let you know I
have these at my home personally at dawn
and at dusk these things just light up
our yard theyan will show you’ve got to
come to the nursery because the yellow
is popping the green is popping the red
the red is crazy so fantastic and that’s
so cool that’s just that is I love the
power of invention that people can find
things and repurpose them or or make
things out of something that is just
plastic that maybe something that
someone would discard they can reuse it
and mold it in these beautiful art forms
absolutely little circles that light up
go figure yeah how cool yeah the red is
just awesome I love the ones that yes
yes me too me too and we are actually in
your shade house so we’re in the shade
house and we have a
fantastic collection of shade plants I
don’t know I don’t we’re going to talk
about the alacia family we have maybe 15
different varieties from the
really just you know four or six feet in
length to some of them that stay very
small that are and have different places
in the gardens and uh so
just so many we have gingers we have
variegated gingers tricolored gingers we
show you some of we have agonas I you
know I I get so excited plants yeah yeah
you have the the Sham or daa Palms are
good interior plants as well as the oras
dras those are great uh those are tough
used to design a lot with them in the
80s and ’90s but we’ll pan around and
show you some more there’s a whole bunch
behind us and then we’ll go look at some
more stuff all right’s bringing us to
the AG
section yeah and this is a fun little
place here because we have
some we have some unbelievable Agave
obviously the blue agave and stuff but
this is false agave which allows us to
not be lethal Bingo not be lethal okay
don’t touch that one Michael or back
into it because that will wake you up
that will definitely wake you up and
then this family of plan over here is
mangave okay which is we love it because
it’s really look at the color that these
give us yeah and they’re not as lethal
as I I feel that the the real Agave are
they’re so
striking texture color and they’re soft
and they’re soft and they’re you know
they don’t have those like this that
hurts right you got to be careful those
those but you got to put those
strategically cut them off well you can
you could you could do that that’s a
very good point M you could do that and
still have the beauty of this and then
keep this safe it’s not good to have
this right next to a walkway at your
home you want this more in the garden
space with a little bit of room so you
can maintain around it fan favorite
customer favorite you know the Caribbean
you know Agave Caribbean super tough
super 2 and2 ft to 3T tall 3T wide and
we we allow to have lizards in there and
then and we keep them on that side of
the fence some reason I want you
to and they have a whole bunch of agab
inside the shade house here too as well
yeah we we do so much cacti wow this is
a a fun spot we have what we call itty
Bitties which are in onein pots and it
allows the small kids to start getting
you know their Gardens growing and it’s
just is fabulous and what I love what
you said earlier about Tyler in the
Bonsai talk we just had is that when he
has that class people can can learn
about how to take care of a Bonsai and
take one home that day that day and it’s
theirs they were the creator of that
that’s the coolest thing that I think is
that they made their own Bonsai that’s
amazing okay so oh Amy Amy
Amy shouldn’t be here because she loves
succulents and she’s going to fill up
her arms with be careful that one think
Amy nice Garden Center yeah wow look at
all of different items wow wind timeses
something for everyone something for
everyone wow look at all this stuff look
at all this win
CH my friend
Andrea not the animal but that’s her
speed she goes sloth speed wow look at
this Pottery Village wow you can see we
just got two shipments in two containers
came and unloaded we still have our
parking lot still has them on pallets
out there wow there so those will in the
next two this is your front parking lot
that’s the front parking lot that’s the
one that if it gets full you all just
head to the back go right to look how
much you just got in but look how many
we have so many different kinds to
because we have so many different
customers and so many different needs so
we at a scaly Michael’s back there
somebody See’s running away now those
are his size so there kids can come and
hide here for days yeah look at so it’s
great they come up with so many
different shapes and colors colors sizes
wow so nice John hello Mr Chris how you
doing I’m good how you doing great to
see you do you need to talk to me for a
minute okay I’ll see I’ll catch
up so nice isn’t it wonderful this one’s
massive there’s Michael well these are
called Sandstone we have more of these
coming these were huge wow uh Dr uh
Chris over there just he took about 10
of these to his house at the beach wow
and uh they do not blow over they do not
blow over that’s a that’s a good AOW you
have something very heavy and and basted
also again with some more rocks and uh
boy palm trees in there can last a long
time amazing beautiful pottery yeah

coming up on your Marketplace and sweet

  1. Thank you very much for this long nursery tour. They are some of my favorite videos. Nice to see young Michael again. I don't think I have seen Nikki yet. Are they all Amy's children? It is hard to cover everything even in a long video. Maybe next time at a nursery you could focus on for example vines, or palms, trees or hedges. Thanks again for letting us be part of it. I will be in Naples on Thursday or Friday to see my house in person for the first time. Can't wait to explore the property.
