  5. Thank you for the video Kay. Could you do more of these & focus on identification & medicinal uses. It was difficult to see some of the plants you pointed out & the information on the medicinal qualities was somewhat lacking. Im fairly new to Tennessee & trying to learn what everything in my yard is. Blessings

  6. Thanks for a whole new list of medicinal plants to research. Living in the city, the weeds don't have a chance to grow with all the spraying/mowing constantly going on so you are very fortunate to be able to have access to such an abundance. Yes the warm weather is coming and can't wait to get my indoor plants outdoors. Of course there will be more challenges when that happens until harvest. Have a wonderful weekend my friend…

  7. Kaye correct me i am wrong
you dug down in the raised bed
    then showed to camera shot
What you held in your hand
Both hands were in shot ,,yet the shot zoomed in to your hands,,,,,,,,was someone else filming????? Ed

  8. Love your informative herbal medicine and weed videos. Do you recommend any books or other vlogs that describe those types of things? TY Haffy

  9. I took some of the wild onion tops and dried them to grind for onion powder. And yes a little goes a long way with it lol.

  10. When I make my salve with plantain, and other herbs for healing, I dehydrate the leaves and just break up a bit with my hands and infuse in Avocado oil for at least 6 to 8 weeks. The herbs must be dried, you cannot do this with fresh herbs. Then strain all the herbs of the oil (since at that point all the benefits of the herbs are now in the oil and can be thrown away) Then add the oil to melted bees wax and Shea butter, or any butter like that you prefer, but can just add to the wax only if you want.

  11. I have almost identical weeds aka medicinal plants in my yard, minus others you have. I haven't heard you mention wild carrot or chickweed but those are everywhere here as well as cleavers. Cleavers and wild carrot leave little velcro like balls all over your clothes and socks. They are the (flea)bane of my existence πŸ˜†

  12. Ah, you just mentioned chickweed😊. I like a little of it mixed in a fruit smoothie, gives a nice herbal flavor with the sweet taste. Your chickweed has much bigger leaves than mine though.

  13. Just a bit of household peroxide in a sprayer with water will take care of the mildew right away. Start with quarter cup per gallon, up to half cup or more as needed.

  14. Enjoyed the extensive tour of medical vs weeds. I also have most of those plus wild violets. This year a very short weed that looks like dead nettle is everywhere here. It might be the Asian one that wrecks the soil. That would just be my luck! It's all over the raised beds too! Can't really go assess today because it is storming but hopefully will be able to get things up easier after this rain.

  15. The sticky, square stemmed plant whose name you forgot is called Cleavers. I have a nice crop of it growing through my Yarrow. It is supposed to be very medicinal, (although I forgot what for.) I also have many Wild Lettuces, I hope to make a tincture with it this year, time permitting. Thank you for your very interesting videos.

  16. I've got little spots here & there where I let the weeds grow, but I mow everything around the house & septic field to help keep the ticks down..
We've got 1/3 less lawn than we started with. We also got rid of a lot of junk pines near the house & given the last couple seasons of wind shears, it was a good idea given how many toppled in the neighbor's overgrown, forested area. We love the fleabane & so do the dogs because we've never had an issue with fleas, only a few ticks throughout the season though. The guineas took a lot of them out last year, so that's been great.

  17. You may want to do some research on poisonous look alikes before trying any wild edible onion. There's a plant that looks like wild onions but it can harm you if you eat it.

  18. For art work, you can make a picture frame by pressing wild flowers between two glasses then seal it with solder iron. 😊. You are so knowledgeable with almost every plant.

  19. Love ❀️ your property and love ❀️ learning about medicinal plants and food sources. Thx for all you do πŸ™πŸπŸŒΈ
