  1. I volunteer at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens and our zoo has 35 species of Bamboo. They require removal and I take home 20-30 foot sections and cut to length for my veggie garden. Free of charge. They are great as plant stakes, trellis supports and fence posts to keep my dogs from getting into trouble.

  2. Which of these no cost/low cost trellis are you going to build? Thanks for gardening with us! -CaliKim & CameraGuy

  3. I like the rustic look of the tree branch trellises. I used the ladder mesh from the masonry dept! Also the cattle panel supported by 2 metal fence posts + zip ties (foam pool noodles from $1 halved and placed on ends to prevent getting scratched)

  4. I purchased some ladder mesh from Lowes today to use in one of my raised beds to support some cucumbers. I'm not sure how sturdy it will be in my garden. I'm in zone 8b Georgia, and the lake winds are horrible this time of year. I just had my greenhosue demolished by some strong lake affect wimds yesterday, so I'm not sure how the trelis will hold up on the next round of winds. Fingers crossed. 🤞

  5. Hi Kim. I made a no cost trellis tunnel for my melon bed. I had hog wire rolled up on the back of the property collecting leaves and spiders. I unrolled it and cut two nine-foot lengths, then split one up the middle. I butted two panels together with zip ties to give me a section 5 1/2 feet wide, and nine feet long. I folded it over into an arch spanning a 6' x 3' raised bed. Then I used three Crape Myrtle branches, one on each end and one in the middle to support the arch. I am growing four Hearts of Gold and two Sugar Baby watermelon plants in the raised bed. They've been in the ground for a week, and have already doubled in size. My garden is doing amazingly well. I lost one potato plant to frost, but planted four extra, so I'm still ahead of what I need. I just posted pictures on my Facebook page the other day. https://www.facebook.com/jay.toney.56

  6. The natural weathered look of the wood combined with the hemp rope is what brings your garden all together, I'm inspired. Even the metal trellis attachments are well thought out, I'll try that ladder mesh. It all looks great and makes me wonder what flowers are in the hopper. Cali-Kim/CameraGuy great video, great garden.

  7. I been collecting sunflower stalks, they are also make good trellis or just support for some plants 🪴 ❤ hello Mac 🐾
