I tried to grow some raspberries from seed a few months ago, but due to some personal problems, I ended up neglecting them, and the seedlings dried out and died. It’s been a bit since then, and while cleaning out the fridge, I saw some old ziplocks in the crisper with yellow and red raspberry seeds. I thought they’d be molded or ungerminated, and wanted to throw the bags away, but decided to check for fun. Turns out, a few yellow raspberry seeds sprouted, and a ton of red raspberry seeds did, as well! I’d gotten so lucky having seeds germinate during the warm stratification period, I completely forgot cold stratification can take months.
So, I’ve got a container of seeds in some seed-starting mix, and now it’s just a matter of waiting and babying the hell out of these things. Later on, I’ll try scarifying and stratifying some blackberry seeds
