Just made this today. I threw in some salvinia, and hornwort from my aquarium, and then sealed it. Should I keep it sealed? Or leave it open for a few days? Will salvinia survive in a sealed environment?

In general, they will have a better shot at long term viability if you leave it open for a day or two to let it settle after the shock. I think it has something to do with letting some of the gasses of things initially dying off escape before sealing.
As for individual plants living or dying, I can’t say for sure, as the lighting and nutrient conditions are different for all cases, as well as other plants it’s competing with. But what you have seems like a good chance at doing okay.
I open mine for a few minutes, every few days. Just to be positive that there is gas exchange. It there were a very large amount of plants, I wouldn’t worry. But I’m not risking it.
