The Sun Has Returned to Our Cabin | Starting Seeds for This Year’s Garden

Winter’s end is finally in sight! The landscape will soon transform from a winter wonderland to a green paradise. The chickens made it just fine through the coldest months largely due to their heated coop and a project on our agenda is starting seeds for the future garden. We reorganize the cabin, set up a seed rack complete with lights, pick up our Azure order and cook up moose sloppy joes and mac n cheese.

We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. Have you thought of putting a greenhouse shed on the side of the convex container with solar heat? You are so creative on setting these things up.

  2. I overwinter our Rosemary every year inside. Just a good sized pot because the plants can get seriously big. Also loves more water than you would think. A clay pot with a drip tray seems to work great for us. Our particular Rosemary plant is over 5 years old at this point.

  3. Big Lake here… We have a small cabin, too. We hang our winter clothes… snow pants, hoodies, jackets, along the top of our bed frame. They dry out faster, and it also blocks out some of the early morning sunshine. Nothing like putting on warm winter gear before you go outside into the elements. Love your content ๐Ÿซถ

  4. I really love the voice over catch up. I still love seeing you guys in the moment more but itโ€™s great for the catch up. โค๏ธ

  5. Ariel and Eric we are Cordova Alaskans we love all your shows we also live a very subsistence sustained lifestyle and do a lot of the things you and eric do however we are always learning something from you two love all your doing if you ever want to come by our neck of Alaska wed love to have you and have an adventure, trade secrets lol Michael and Stephanie

  6. Have you thought about raising the bed? If you bring it to hip height you could put sets of drawers underneath for clothes.

  7. Loft it๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ I do appreciate seeing the two of you working together๐Ÿชถ keep smiling!
    Thank youโœจ๐ŸŒฑ
You have the same looking cat as meโœจ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›
heโ€™s such a good boy๐Ÿ’™that was cute to see ๐Ÿ™‚ and seeing you snip the ginger just when I was about to write that I wouldnโ€™t trim it too short..yet๐Ÿ˜‚made me smile so thanks I so needed it today๐Ÿชถglad you left a sprig!
    Just beautiful little onesโœจ๐ŸŒฑ

  8. What do you guys do with that many eggs per day? Do you sell them? Do you ever allow the hens to hatch their eggs? Love you guys.

  9. With horse manure that has not had time to rot, beware undigested oats! My parents had a lovely oat field instead of a garden one year!

  10. Have you thought about putting a โ€œroofโ€ on the bed to create storage space above for out of season clothing?

  11. I'm in Florida, my ginger I break the stems, let sit till broken part is dried to cut back. Helps tubers to grow.

  12. It's awesome to hear that you used to live in Forest Grove at the college they have the best antique hot rod car show in the summer I enter my car every yearโคโคโค

  13. Hey guys, maybe you could look into a slide out rack system for under your bed. You could easily access more of your storage items underneath your bed. You could just pull the rack out to reach things underneath..I'm sure you could come up with a system that would make your life easier and give you access to more of your storage. Good luck! Good luck also with your new garden high tower. Looking forward to seee the results of your labor. As usual, you guys are doing a great job!
