April I’m using a mixture of sifted compost and Petree pting soil today it’s so nice to just close the shed doors behind me and shut out the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just work in silence now there are only the seeds my hands in the soil and all
Of my plant babies there’s nothing quite as calming as seed starting I se these cabbage plants a month ago and they have gotten quite big so I am transplanting them into their own pots I carefully separate the plants before they can move into their own containers if your plants do not
Separate mine had already been quite intertwined then you can just put them in water for a couple of minutes I promise it becomes much easier after sewing and transplanting my plants always receive leave a gentle Shower and next are the tomato plants they are also very happy to move into their own poty today we will plant some tomatoes in the greenhouse later which is something I’m very excited for April is the perfect time to start your cucumbers indoors I’m growing two different types of cucumbers one is for
Snacking and for all the cucumber salads that we are going to be enjoying when we’re having barbecue nights I’m so excited for barbecue season by the way and the best snacking Variety in my opinion is Tanya but I am preserving a good chunk of our Harvest every year and
My boyfriend is obsessed with pickled cucumbers therefore I have to grow a lot of pickling cucumbers and my favorite variety is called fber straber I know these are all German varieties and they’re not available to everyone I’m currently shipping a lot of the seeds that you see in this video to
EU customers so if you live here you can order them okay so you have the permission to grow a lot of cucumber plants but one plant that you should only grow one to two or maybe three of is the zucchini or corette because they are just producing way too many
Fruits the next one is a staple for a winter food storage because you can store pumpkins up until April if you are growing storing varieties I am growing two varieties that are for stuffed pumpkins my favorite is the sweet dumpling I love to bake it with uh leak
Cheese stuffing but I’m also growing the classics butternut and hokaido I roast them in the oven a lot of times or make soups from them but there are also quite a lot of veggies that are Frosty and that you can Harvest all winter long I am sewing three of these
Right now the first one is my favorite Brussels broad variety it’s called Eda but we’re also growing many suroy plants each year and a lot of winter leaks you can still sew these in May and June by the way I’m doing seed starting videos every month and you can subscribe
To my channel if you want to keep on growing your food with me but don’t make the mistake to sew them too late in the year because even though they are meant for winter harvesting they need to grow big before winter arrives because once the temperatures are so low the plants
Will not grow anymore so they need time to grow before it gets cold the next one loves the sun more than anything these are corn seeds I’m growing a popcorn variety and two other ones that are for bread baking make pancakes and Penta and stuff but I’m also growing some sweet
Corn because all of these varieties that I just mentioned are harvested when the cob is really dry so when you would Harvest them earlier like you do with sweet corn they do not taste as good they are not sweet therefore I am growing this beautiful sweet corn
Variety called dount and we are going to be enjoying this on all these barbecue nights that we are planning we love to eat them straight from the cob with a little bit of butter and some salt it’s just so easy and so Delicious I am no longer alone in the shed my son just joined me he’s 10 years old and he just wanted to sit here and watch me and let me tell you the atmosphere when I’m sewing my seats is just so calm and so relaxing that he’s just quietly reading

Ich habe letztes Jahr einige Feldsalatpflanzen blühen lassen und dann die verblühten Blütenstände mit einem Gemüsenetz (die Supermarktdinger) eingepackt. Als alles reif und trocken war, habe ich einfach geschüttelt und hatte trockene Pflanzenbrösel und Samen im Netz. Dieses Brösel-Samen-Gemisch habe ich im November auf die abgeräumten Beete gestreut und eigentlich nicht daran geglaubt, dass das was wird. Ende Dezember die ersten Pflänzchen und seit Ende Januar ernte ich Feldsalat über Feldsalat und wird gar nicht weniger! Ohne Schutz, ohne Schnick und Schnack, trotz Schnee und Frost ist der gewachsen, wie blöd und die ersten Pflänzchen setzen schon jetzt (!) Blütenstängelchen an. Ich bin einfach hin und weg und kann das jeder Gärtnerin nur empfehlen! Ohne Arbeit und ohne Kosten Feldsalat – was will frau mehr?😉

Liebe Marie, ich liebe deine Videos, aber für mich ist es immer sehr schwer zuzuhören, wenn gleichzeitig Musik läuft, egal wie leise die ist.
Ich fürchte, ich stehe damit etwas alleine da – was das anbelangt, würden mich mal Rückmeldungen interessieren – aber ich möchte es trotzdem gerne loswerden.
Es ist ja Gang und Gäbe, Videos mit Musik zu untermalen, auch wenn es eigentlich um gesprochene Informationen geht, und mich stört das bei all diesen Videos.

Hallo Marie, ich liebe deine Videos. Ich finde immer neue Ideen und Inspirationen. So auch das Gartensieb. Weißt du noch, wo du dieses gekauft hast? Die meisten Gartensiebe haben einen Durchmesser von 36 cm. Deins sieht aber viel größer aus und ich denke, dass ein großes Sieb viel praktischer ist. Lieben Dank für deine Antwort.

It is great to now see how you will be able to handle your new home garden and have the ability to homestead all on the one location rather having to manage your animals at a distance from where you were living. I have a small suburban garden part lawn/part flowers vegetables and fruit with a small greenhouse and trying to companion plant through the garden to manage pests, although I think the bigger problem with growth in the garden are the normal distractions and interruptions of life which always makes the original plans look too ambitious as each year passes. However, I am learning and your channel has helped motivate me over the years. I have always looked forward to your videos and best wishes for the growth in your garden and on your channel. Ich habe dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal vorgezogen. Mit sehr großem Erfolg. Ich weiß gar nicht mehr, wohin damit. Vor allem Physalis und Pepperoni. Da habe ich so jeweils 40-70 Stück. Aber es ist wirklich schön zu sehen, wie gut die Pflanzen kommen und wenn sie dann auch noch ihre eigenen Blätter entwickeln. 😅

Bin ich einfach sensibel auf das ständige reduzieren auf Äusserlichkeiten besonders bei jungen Frauen , ich wollte einfach mal sagen ich habe das Gefühl du bist so viel mehr als dein Aussehen und ich bewundere wirklich all deine Leistungen, einfach deine Fähigkeit wie offen du das Gärtnern gestaltest, wie du das alles managest, und wie wunderschön deine videos immer gestaltet sind !☺️

Liebe Marie, DU BIST Wurzelwerk. Bei dir spürt man die Natur im Blut und die Liebe zur Natur.. Die Art und Weise wie du mit allem umgehst, ist einfach schön <3 Ich sauge deine Tips auf wie ein Schwamm und hoffe dass mein Garten irgendwann unsere Familie mit Obst und Gemüse versorgen kann. Schade mit der Namensänderung. "Wurzelwerk" steht irgenwie schon für eine Lebenshaltung, eine besondere Haltung. Die macht dich aus und viele, viele spüren, das es genau das ist, was die Zeit braucht. In meinem Bekantenkreis stellten wir wiederholt fest, das wir mehrere "Wurzelwerker" sind. Wir wussten es nicht, ahnten es aber dann über Gespräche und das ist irgenwie total schön und verbindend. Ich verstehe deine Idee dahinter für deine Mission, dennoch fühlt es sich schade an.
Für dich selber möchte ich dir von Herzen danken für dein "an die Hand nehmen". Ich hab schon so viel gelernt und bin sehr dankbar für dein systhematisches, achtvolles, nachhaltiges und sehr liebevolles Konzept. Du hast Herz und Verstand vereinigt ! In meinem Leben sind manchmal schlimme Dinge passiert, oder Dinge die ich auch überhaupt nicht so wollte, aber es hat sich immer mit der Zeit (manchmal auch mit mehr Zeit gezeigt) warum es dennoch so sein musste und das es am Ende gut, sogar besser für mich war – auch, wenn das in den Momenten absolut nicht vorstellbar war. Hallo Marie,Du hattest mal in einem Video gesagt,dass Tomatenpflanzen wo sich die Wachstumsblätter kräuseln keinen guten Ertrag geben. Nun habe ich eine Tomatenpflanze mit 3 Wachstumsblätter. Kann ich die weiter hochziehen,oder sollte ich schweren Herzens entsorgen? Man wünscht sich ja gute Ernte. Wäre schön,wenn Du mir das beantworten könntest ❤
Ich schaue deine Videos schon länger und fand sie schon immer richtig gut und hilfreich. Aber dieses Video ist trotzdem nochmal nen großer step up.
