Garden plans & What’s Growing in the Woods? #GardenTourClub

What’s Going on In the #Woods & #Garden this year? We love #gardening!
I hope you enjoy our sneak peek into what we’re planning for this year. This is just the beginning – we will be sharing regular updates as part of the #GardenTourClub collaboration hosted by @GailsSouthernLiving ! I hope you’ll follow us along on this journey!

Hey everybody Mountain Grandma here this video is part of the garden tour Club hosted by Gail Southern Living and I’m going to start in my woods so let’s go all right I’m taking you over to the woods that are right on the border of our yard area and you can see all these

Leaves here what I’m sharing with you might not look like a lemon balm patch but it’s a wonderful lemon balm patch and I’m going to try to expand on that a little little more this year because I love lemon balm and then I’m bringing you over to this skinny little tree

There’s actually two of them and this is a peach tree it is kind of like bent over because it was being crowded out by some Cedars and we cleared those there’s the pile of everything that we cut down my husband and I and you can see some

Blossoms at the very tip top see those some pink little blossoms and it’s got some buds growing in we’re super excited about this and just want to give it a chance chance to grow um and uh here is the one that’s actually in our yard so

The same pink blossoms and this is a really large peach tree that desperately needs pruning but I can’t do it now because it’s blossoming so for next year now these are some blossoms coming out on our plum tree that’s in our yard and it’s another big guy like we’re really hoping to get

Some plums off of this tree and some peaches last year luck but this is another little little Plum so we have two plum trees this is just a baby one you can see how small it is here so not very big at all and then what I’m

Showing here is this is supposed to be an apple tree um we haven’t had any apples we haven’t had any fruit because last year the Arctic blast just you know killed all the buds and prevented that from happening but now right here what you’re seeing is a garden bed that’s um

Right next to our shed it’s very dry down here I tried to grow evening primrose and uh gosh what was the other one uh Horehound and they didn’t grow very well so I’m going to plant some other herbs that can tolerate dry conditions down here all right in this little bed here

It’s about a 3X3 we need to upgrade the soil to this so we’ll be working on that this year and then in the larger bed we have um plenty of room here we’re going to be upgrading soil here also I do have asparagus and some strawberries and some

Horseradish growing there but we’re also going to be planting over here probably our Tomatoes um and I don’t know we’ll see what else we haven’t quite decided on everything just yet this bed is a hot mess I’ve got a lot of work to do here we have some plans for what we’re going

To do to try try to beef up this bed and this soil because it was basically worthless nothing would grow in this last year and here I am planning on growing peppers over here um that’s the main thing I want to grow in this bed all right and I’ve got five of these

Rose bed um buckets and I plant along with them last year I planted what you see here is Yaro and it’s done so well it overwintered it’s just really nice to have on hand right outside my door I’m also going to be planting radishes um that’s another video coming out but I’m

Going to plant radishes in this bed got another one over here and here’s another one that I had planted the yarao in I did read that Yaro grows really well with rose rose bushes and they were so right and that’s it for my garden tour

Today I hope yall enjoyed it and I’ll be updating this throughout the season so I hope you follow me along to see what else I’ll be growing both in my garden beds and in my woods and until I see you next time um remember everybody keep your joy

  4. Loving seeing the property! Gosh peaches are my absolute fav! So envious. Look at all your gardens! We have a hot mess too lol. Always a ton of things to do, great tour

  5. Nice, Tammy! You have some awesome fruit trees, and I love how spacious your gardens are. I'm having trouble walking (need knee replacements) so I'll be growing in containers on my son's porch. I really miss the farm so much. I had some pretty amazing gardens. I grew an entire hillside of asparagus. It was well established so I'm sure someone is reaping the rewards. Wish I could've took the garden with me ..but alas, I'm no magician Thanks for sharing. See you next time ❣️πŸ₯°

  6. Hi there Mountain Grandma!! I'm so happy to get to know you through the #gardentourclub. I'm joining in as well and am looking forward to seeing how you grow your gardens!! Oh wow, seeing leaves and blossoms starting on your fruit trees, oh my goodness. No fresh leaves in Vermont yet, but in time! New subscriber here, can't wait to see your garden green up more and more! -Coral

  7. I'd put some hardy woody herbs along that shed hun maybe sage, thyme and rosemary low maintenance and once in will take care of themselves, even Oregano would probably do well down there. Awesome seeing your area though πŸ™‚
