Today would have been the preview day at #RHSChelsea, I would have been judging all weekend and #Monday is the start of #Chelsea week – one of the greatest weeks in the #horticultural calendar. Friends, colleagues, fellow industry professionals all together to celebrate every aspect of our world. Our Balston Agius garden (shown here) was simply one of the best and most insanely fun experiences. I have never been through such an intense rollercoaster of emotions; never been so happy, excited, elated, exhausted – the sense of camaraderie with everyone who gives their all for 15hrs a day for about 19 days straight – let alone for the 12months or more in the lead up & planning – all to try & achieve the #perfection we were aiming for. From the Clients, contractors, nurserymen, specialists, colleagues & family support! – it’s the sum of a fantastic amount of moving parts! Bar the irises flowering about 8hrs too late & the Cornus being massively grumpy with the record cold spring we had – there wasn’t much I’d have changed! It was an immensely #proud moment & whilst in 2020 we will gather virtually this week; I can’t wait until we can be back all together in person.
