The retail garden center is currently closed for the winter. It will reopen on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Creekside Nursery
181 Pine Hollow Dr
Dallas, NC, 28034
Hey friends welcome to Gardening with Creekside and welcome to the first nursery tour of 2024 Tada we are here uh so we are standing in front of the signature Garden because uh two videos
Ago I told you that we were going to get the sign installed we just got it done this morning look at it isn’t she a be there we go all nice and hung the copper cap is set to arrive tomorrow
So as soon as it arrives we will get that put on but yes so we have our official sign for the signature Garden um very very exciting the gardens when you come to the nursery because our opening
Day is Saturday February the 17th that means this Saturday you can come see us we will be open for the 2024 season here in Dallas North Carolina for the first couple of weeks will be open on Saturdays um and then we will move to our Wednesday through Saturday schedule from 9:
To 3:00 make your plans we’re going to be open y’all if it’s a Wednesday through a Saturday we’re going to be open I love you dearly but you don’t need to send me a message hey are you going to be
Open on this date if it’s a Wednesday through a Saturday we’re going to be open from 9:00 to 3: we were just in here the other day cleaning up the signature Garden getting it ready for opening day
So we got the sign hung since then and and we got the pathway finished Andrew was working on that so that is complete the gravel looks like it’s a different color simply because it’s new it’s
Supposed to rain uh for the next couple of days so it’ll get all washed in but you have a nice smooth path as you walk across into the signature Garden I know that some people are very technical and
You’re like how you just blocked your path of your water how what in the world no we didn’t we have um two what 6in pipes 4in pipes two 4in PVC pipes that go under there that um will catch normal
Water flow now when you had that historic flooding and I say historic it been four years since we had that kind of flooding uh nothing’s going to stop that kind of water but this will work and stop you
Know collect any water and shoot it on the other side so that is done so when you come see us just hop on over just walk on in and enjoy it and help yourself sit on the bench and take a look at all
The plants also when you come we’re going to have um I suspect probably just about only on Saturday February the 17th we’re going to have these available and I say we’re probably only going
To have it for this one day is because they sold out in less than 24 hours on the website what am I talking about we’ll come on back here my friends um here we have and this is why they’re back here
Here in the back this is the pette of the aqua poot inserts these are the inserts that you use for a traditional pot right it does not have to be an aqua pot this can these inserts turn your
Traditional pottery into an aqua pot so we ordered from Proven Winners we’re ordering them straight from Proven Winners we had a pallet for the online store and we have a pallet for our retail store
The pallet that was online sold out in less than 24 hours I’ve already had people asking me if we have it here at the nursery we do so if you want these you need to come on Saturday February the
17th and get them we have tried to get more from Proven Winners so far we are unsuccessful because they seem to be running out of them um so if we can get our hands on some more we’re we’re on
The list we’re on the list to get some more from premum winners just know this is what I have and when they’re gone they’re gone they just don’t buy one right and that what Jerry said they just
People just don’t buy one right people are buying three four five six at a time because they want to turn in their traditional pottery into aquapots so good point they’re not just buying one people
Are buying multiples of those so come see us we will have them available if we get them back in stock um we will let you know so that is a great thing on the website if you see a product whether
It’s a plant or the aquapot light insert or felos hat whatever the case may be if it’s out of stock there’s a button right there on that product page that says notify me when available click on that
You put your email in we will notify you when that specific item comes back into stock that way you’ll get an email says hey guess what the aquapot light insert is now back in stock order
It then and then that way you will uh go ahead and get it on Saturday February the 17th um we obviously going to be open we have Bolton’s food truck it’s going to be here Bolton’s curbside
Cookery hands down best burgers best onion rings best food you’ve ever had in your mouth they are delicious sweet people great food they’re going to be here in food junkie food junkie homemade donuts y’all mhm that’s right so they’re going to be here this is the perfect time to go ahead and
Start thinking about shrubs you know me I have been planting basically all winter long I still have plants sitting up in the Woodland Garden beside the chicken coop I have got hydrangeas that need to go in the ground like I’m placing them out and thinking about where I want to put
Them it is a great time to put your hydranges in the ground it is a great time to put a shrub in the ground we got a zelas right here there’s tons of different um hyd Stranges we’ve got two little
Um leftover I don’t know if we’ve got any more of these I think we have some more up on production it’s one of my all-time favorite shrubs the Yen and yang viburnum there’s two there’s Yen viburnum
Yang viburnum love these the gardinas the Roses of Sharon we’ve got um Pearl Glam right all of these roses yes my gosh y’all we just did a video last week I think it was time starts to run together
For me um on pruning your roses these have all been trimmed so we have like the drift roses low and wide covered in New Growth I mean they are popping out um we have got of course The Proven
Winners we’ve got their rise ups which can either be a shrub roast or it can be a climbing roast we’ve got like the oo easy Italian ice we have got just oh my gosh this is um reminiscent pink like
Look new growth popping out we’ve got reminiscent Coral we’ve got kma we’ve got rise up am berness I mean you’ve got all sorts of different ones in here it is a great time to plant roses I know when
I get be root roses from David Austin I get them like in late January early February go ahead and get them in the ground the roses for me my roses tend to start blooming in March so like March into
April we’ll go ahead and get some flowers on these so this would be a great time to add them to your garden of course just tons of different shrubs right we have everything you can imagine just
Know that this is the time optimally here in the Southeast that you can be adding to your landscape we say fall into winter and then coming out of winter going into spring because the the key is
You want to plant these shrubs before the heat of the summer hits it is much easier for this shrub to go from a container into the landscape you’re going to have lots of good root growth before the
Summer heat hits and that’s what is key um and really important in the success of your garden so if you need help come on out we’ll help you for sure lots of different options we even have you’re
Like why are you selling me an empty pot it’s not an empty pot this is the summer riic hibiscus uh somebody’s going to ask the green that’s the slow relase fertilizer so we added everybody
A nice shot of fertilizer um for cyia over here y’all if you want a load of spring color you need for cyia we have the showoff sugar baby and we have show off what Jerry is showing you all of
Those buds are going going to be the most bright yellow big bell shaped flowers so this these whole stems are going to be covered growing up here we always call them yellow Bells because they are just absolutely covered show off sugar baby is going to be your petite one and then show off
Of course is going to be nice and big you want to prune your Foria immediately after they bloom so like we have one Rog Lim that’s really long I want to let this Bloom first and then I can come
In here and cut it back so for cyas we’ve got the sensation honeysuckle your butterfly bushes you name it this is also a great time because I mean it is mid-February right and we get a lot of folks
Coming in um maybe they don’t need shrubs per se or they just may may need one or two but what they do need is to go ahead and stock up on their fertilizers their potting soil the compost pine
Bark fines all of those things they’re getting all of their supplies ready for the upcoming season so all of that will be available of course the land and sea is is out right here don’t worry we got
Pallets of it hanging out in production so we will bring those in all right let’s um before we go in the greenhouse and tease you I also want to show you these are always such huge Sellers and they
Sell out pretty quickly in the season because because they are so popular what I am talking about are the strawberry planters the succulent Planters whatever you want to call them from Michael Carr the first time I saw these I was like we got to have them and every year we sell out
So fast every year we order more and more and we still sell out fast these are great so what they are um Michael Carr is the designer of these he’s also the one that that designs the aquapots and so
This is his version of a strawberry planter in the center this will hold a gallon right so whether you want to do an annual or perennial whatever this will hold an a gallon and this holds
The perfect Grande Size so you’ve got 1 2 3 4 5 6 7even eight you’ve got eight smaller holes around it you could really put anything you want to you can put it in full sun my per my personal one at
The house has the simp vums in them and they are gorgeous I leave it out year round and it does great I also created one here at the nursery in the pines and I put um petite hostas in it so each
One has a different hosta so there you go you can do sun you can shade you can leave them out year round because it’s a traditional pottery and it can handle um the cool temperatures all right now
Let’s get a shot of spring right quick and let’s go inside as we pass by we we have the amsonia this is a storm cloud an amazing perennial we have moved it from the greenhouse out here to try to
Slow it down because amsonia is going to be one of your earliest perennials to flower and um it’s called storm cloud because it has really almost near black stems as it comes out of the ground
And then as it gets taller it turns more green has gorgeous true blue flowers on it but amsonia oh my gosh love this so we brought it out to make it slow down some um I think y’all are with us well
I mean we just pted this up this year that’s the beautiful thing about the great uh root stock from Walters Gardens all right come on in my friends I wish we had smell a vision because this nesia is
Smelling amazing um this is the aromance Mulberry I had somebody I posted some pict pictures and somebody asks they’re like is that not too early for this plant to bloom no it’s not this is what this plant does aromance Mulberry the nesia is a cool weather plant it loves the cool weather
It is one of the very first ones to bloom so you have the Mulberry and then you come down here and you have the sensia coconut Nas Bloom early and they bloom for a long time so this is not like
A perennial like that amsonia it’ll bloom once in the here and then it’s done this just keeps on going and going and going and it has a really nice fragrance to it like as soon as you walk in
The greenhouse you can smell it also look at that white KN is that not beautiful white night sweet alysum is such a beautiful plant I mean nice nice happy plant look at that look and it’s a trailer
It is a sweet alysum so it does have a lovely fragrance to it as well a very sweet fragrance so if you don’t like white maybe you want to go with Violet so this is violet KN which is has a
Really nice rich deep purple flower CeCe took a picture of a caliber COA that was blooming I’ll see if we can try to hunt it down um the osteos will be next probably to bloom the osteop sperms
Will be next here we have all the patunas um and this is just the beginning sampling of course of the annuals this is not all of the annuals this is just this is just a to wet your appetite my
Friends but all the new ones right the hoopla theid Orchid saffron fch is in here somewhere um we’ve got this is honey we’ve got jasberry in here we’ve got um all of those of course patunas
That you love and adore are here if you want to buy the Ang uals when you come on Saturday I’m not going to stop you just know if you don’t have a protected area for them you might be buying
Them again so just kind of keep that in mind um it is I want to put that nesia out so badly but I’m not going to do it because I know I see like some 27 degree nights in our future and I’m just
Telling myself to be patient gardening teaches you patience but man is it sure fun to come in and check on everybody how everybody is growing um just you know Min this is Scarlet getting some
Nice structure to her nice and full and thick um let’s come on over here because I know we’ve got some more great ones last year we sold out of this plant so fast this is the leguna compact blue um
With ie this is a liilia another really nice more cool weather plant nice tight foliage but has a true blue flower with um a white eye does really well and then the plant that knocked my
Socks off last year was the artist blue ageratum it performed all the way through I planted it in March and I pulled it out in November I think it was a rockar of a performer the Silver Falls
The Laman of course you got to have have um the lemon Coral Sedum and then look at the guara this is the Caroli petite pink look at those sweet little pink flowers right there just blooming
So yeah there’s a lot of things that are fun going on in here in the greenhouse we will be restocking more we’re going to hopefully get some um some good perennials in here lots of things we still have we’re actually filming this on Friday afternoon we’ve been working our little hinies off
All day this is not going to a until Monday um so we still have a good week as far as filming to get some more things in here so we’re going to have lots of options oh yeah hanging baskets
Look at that I didn’t even I forgot to look up yeah I well they’re just hanging I can do see a little bit of green St sticking up there they are they’re starting to they’re starting to poke
Their little heads up so we’ve got that now um perennials because these we overwinter these out side they’re still pretty dormant now if you want to come and buy some some day lies of course day lies are there dianthus we’re going to be bringing more things from up at production bring them down
Uh but just know right this is what your day looks like you’ve got to when you’re looking at especially like your shrubs and your perennials you got to Envision what it’s going to be not what
It looks like right now so keep that in mind we still have a beautiful selection of unique stone we got this order in in November and so um as far as like selling them we were kind of winding down
The season so we have a lot of options available on this order I tried to like here this is I think the tornado ear um I tried to yes the tornado ear get one of every color right so you’ve got the AG
Stone the ancient age a light Walnut and a dark walnut so I try to give people some options as far as that goes um and then we’ve been selling some of the unique stone the smaller pieces that
Can ship relatively easily we have been shipping those online but you can still see there’s a great selection of unique stone here whether you want Galloway earns or like a small scroll ear we’ve got bashful betties that are always so popular um the Savannah urn that’s always incredibly popular
Lots as you can see lots and lots of options um I I do want to show you come on up here because Cece and I were working on this little area together today um we were working on cleaning
Up the Pines we really when we closed we kind of walked away and just left this so if you have pine trees you know that we had a lot of cleanup to do a lot of sticks trying to get the pine needles um
Pushed out somebody left a coat um working today but this is a great idea so CC and I were working on this this is a foow planting the plants are not really planted in here these are the jumbo jardir
We have like this is H Stone there’s ancient age right there we have them in different colors um but these are really nice big containers so the whole style is called jumbo jarder um this is
The smallest it comes in five sizes y’all this is the smallest and the next and then this is number three in line unique stone though offers two sizes bigger than this one it is crazy how large these
Things can be but to give you an idea of what you could do with them you can put them together in a collection right if you wanted to yes you can buy the one pot but here’s a great idea to put them as
A collection for the shade you’ve got a u you’ve got some ukuras and a chamelea and then you’ve got the Florida Sunshine these types of shrubs could stay in these containers for years and years we just talked about that in the last video how you can plant your shrubs and your perennials
In your containers so it kind of gives you an idea of what that looks like like right here we have the um the AG Stone gives you a different kind of look to it ancient age sorry thank you
Friday afternoon that’s AG Stone this is ancient age more of the strawberry planters out here um excuse me was the what oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so CeCe is just she’s so stinking creative
And smart y’all um I love how she did this display this is the everillo grass this is a CarX um a beautiful Evergreen grass that is for the shade and she paired it with the black strawberry
Planter is that not just a beautiful like grabs your eye and just says hey look at me look how pretty I am I love that so she did a great job with that um that is our plan and our desire is
When you come is that you’re inspired and you really enjoy how things look together there was something ooh ooh ooh okay we’re going to be bringing in hopefully more hbor y’all if y’all don’t come and buy these plants I’m just going to take them all this is the ice and Roses rose look
At this so the hbor Linton roses are one of my most favorite perennials because this time of year when we’re desperate for spring they are blooming and they are stunning so this is like I said the
Ice and Roses Rose we’ve got other colors um some of the plants are different ages and so they may not bloom this year that’s where’re dreaming of what is going to be um so here you go like look
At the color difference on that compared to that ice and roses rose right so helor come anywhere from a solid white to a yellow to a pink to a deep red to um a double dark purple you name
It they tend to be deer resistant I’m not saying they’re deer proof every time I say they’re deer resistant somebody says well somebody you know they eat mine because they’re really really tough
And um most of the time deer do not like to eat them so we got hellor we’re going to be bringing in some more hostas Galore yes they’re dormant it is the perfect time to plant them so lots and
Lots of options um like I said Bolton will be here food junkie will be here it is going to be a fun day oh Aqua pots traditional Aqua Pots if you can see if Jerry can pan they’ve got tons of
Different colors and different shapes for you so we do have the traditional aquapots we have Chamas we actually had we were talking to um she wasn’t a customer we’re actually a customer hers and so
She came today and was asking about Chamas and we’re like oh yes we have Chamas so now is also a great time to plant Chamas so we’ve got some um both japonicas and squas that you can plant lots
And lots of options it is going to be the start of a beautiful season here at 2024 Creekside Nursery come see us Saturday February 17th that is this Saturday from 9:00 to 3 as always we hope you
Have found this fun informative and inspirational youall have a great day we’ll see next video bye friends

Jenny is looking pretty in peachy pink! ☺️
Thanks for the breath of sunshine and flowers!! We are expecting a snow storm tomorrow in new england.😢😢
Has anyone else noticed the boxwoods are planted higher in some places than the ones next to it?!
So many fun plants. I want to buy them all!
Jenny your excitement jumps off the screen!!!
Oh my gosh How I wish I lived in driving distance! Just sooo mannnnyyy choices there! I love watching all the things! Happy Opening Day Saturday you guys!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If there is a low supply of aqua pots inserts isn’t it fair to limit how much one person can buy eg only 2 person in order to allow more people to acquire them? Just a thought
I noticed that on your website for ordering products from your company that you do not have have the convenience of using PayPal as a payment tool. Will you be adding this feature in the near future?
Beginning the season on my bd ☺️
Do you ship the Michael Carr strawberry pot?
What are the deadlines for your next unique stone order?
A bridge there would be absolutely awesome right to the Signature garden!!!
I’m jealous lol we have a few months to go in Michigan yet 😢
You guys are literally only 32 minutes away from us!! Omg!! I MUST come buy some stuff from your nursery when the time comes! 💓💓💓
As a long time viewer, it is just wonderful for us to see the wonderful changes you have made over the years. As a former small business owner, I know the work, anxiety and pressure you are under. Still, you maintain your poise, and welcoming nature. Much good luck.
🙋
Ohhhhh I wish I was closer to you guys. Saturday is going to be so much fun. 😊😊
The signature garden has come a long way in such a short time! I can't wait to see how it changes throughout the seasons!
Do people actually plant strawberries in a strawberry planter? I have one that I’ve never planted in.
Was hoping you would have a video on your Opening Day so we could see some of it 😀
Hope you had a great opening day!
