I always cut sunken parts on strawberries and also dark spots and damaged spots. This area was a bit of a sunken spot and to my surprise this is what it looked like under that spot! I’m afraid it was bugs or larvae living there… is it still safe to eat?

Looks fine to me. Ancient humans ate bugs constantly, I think you’ll be okay.
