This week planting would have been underway at RHS Chelsea. It made me think back to 2018 when I was building a garden for @lemontreetrust with @lalandscapes . Looking back over the pictures I came across this series by @brittwilldyer – these were taking on the Sunday, just before judging, and reminded me of the crazy detail that goes into a show garden build! Polishing paving with a sponge (and @anna_millais inspecting the scent of a Rose), inspecting mortar joints with @rewburynob, dusting with a paint brush, studying a water feature with @waterartisans to make sure the flow is exactly right, and snipping out any offending leaves or flowers that dare to not look perfect! All this to try and pre-empt what the judges will see and dock points for! Utter madness, but I miss it. Hopefully in May 2021 we will be in a better place with the coronavirus pandemic and the show will be able to go ahead 🤞🤞
