Hi garden friends ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿพ thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoy my container garden. In this video I will show you how I fertilize my garlic. I planted a soft neck variety I found at a local grocery store. My garlic was planted December 5th, 2023 in this 10 gallon grow bag. Iโ€™m hoping to harvest fully grown garlic bulbs by June or July!! Or early August! Have you grown garlic in grow bags or containers? How was your growing experience? Let me know in the comments! Iโ€™ll keep you all updated on my garlic progress. Hope & pray we meet again on my next video. Peace garden family ๐Ÿ’š

Peace peace peace everybody great day welcome back to home with Anisha it’s a new Day A brand new day and I get to sit next to these beautiful Georgia collards that are growing so phenomenal but anyways so I want to pick up from yesterday I was talking to y’all about garlic and I was telling y’all about my little guide here for gardening this has

Helped me out so much Angela s Jud is the author for how to grow your own food and it’s really uh helpful for people like us that are growing in containers pots and grow bags so get the book if you don’t have it or find a book find you some guides follow

Find out your Zone your hardiness Zone and go from there so um I did some re search on the garlic a little bit before I planted it and I went to Food City and I found these two different varieties this is a the bigger one now I didn’t plant this

One I only planted the smaller um garlic so the bigger one has like purple stripes in it I don’t know if you guys can see but it has like purple stripes in it and this one is just like white regular garlic and so they’re soft neck

Varieties and I will show y’all um this one that I planted I’m not sure which variety it is it is a soft neck variety though like it’s it’s not the hard neck it’s the soft neck so I planted this Variety in a 10 gallon grow bag which is

Right here in front of me and it’s planted with celery as well so right now I see the what are these green things called um I read about that and now okay okay that’s the green garlic which can be harvested in 60 days from planting um so I don’t know if I’m going

To harvest the green garlic but I don’t know um but I do want to show you guys and um we’re just going to have to wait for the garlic to to grow so I’ll keep you guys updated on the garlic um I have a bag right here it’s just filled with

Like lettuce and radish leaves and two bananas I’m going to throw this in my compost maybe I’ll show you guys that too and I’m thinking about putting this pineapple and some soil or should I let it continue to get more Roots um someone let me know in the

Comments but I’ve been um this has been sitting in water for like a few months now um and I think it’s ready to plant so let me know if I can plant this it has roots on it so I’m not going to do that yet cuz I’m

Not sure but I’m leaving it out here in the garden it was inside near the window um okay so let’s look at some of the garlic here okay so remember guys this is the Garlic that I planted and this is the difference see how much smaller small it

Is compared to this other soft neck variety and you can see the purple stripes in there as well but this is the one that I have in the garden right now I do not have the other one planted so these are the green garlic as you can see let me get you

Guys a little closer and I have some celery that’s growing in here as well now I haven’t done much research on fertilizing the garlic let me look in here and see if Mrs Jud gives us some tips on fertilization so as you can see right

Now there looks like it’s going to be 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 seven garlics um are in there growing around the celery and of course I always try to make sure I’m planting properly I wasn’t doing that 3 years ago 4 years ago but um I tried to

Make sure that I am companion planting properly and um garlic is well suited to growing in containers good campaigns for garlic include fruit trees and tomatoes do not plant near peas or beans and this is according to our how to grow your own food forgive me for how dirty this is

But it’s always in the garden with me um so okay in here it says that the garlic benefits from a liquid organic fertilizer her application every other week during the growing season so maybe we can go ahead and fertilize her today um and I have some I have like some

511 um the Alaskan fish fertilizer I have that in there I wonder if that would be okay or if I should do something else um I need to do a little more research on that as well I just got my nails done y’all and I really don’t want to mess them up so

I’m going to put on gloves usually I love to feel the soil like I love filling the soil with like my bare hands but I’m going to put gloves on because I don’t want my nails to get messed up or break off and fall up in the

Soil so what I’m going to do is get some of my straw mul I want to fertilize the garlic today because I haven’t fertilized my garlic so I’m trying to be gentle what is that I don’t know what that is there’s something growing in there that doesn’t look like

Garlic what is it I don’t know and I think I just broke one of my garlics but guess who going to plant it right back in the soil me cuz I don’t play you going to go back in the soil cuz I don’t play so I want to get some of this straw

Mulch out of here so I can get to the soil I don’t want to just throw my fertilizer right on top of this straw m and I have a few other things right here and I’ll tell you guys what we’re going to do I’ll show you guys what what we

Got all right let me get y’all to see it better I think that’s good for y’all so I’m going to move some more of my straw mulch here that’s that easy straw mulch that I love so very much um still have a big bag of the easy

Straw mulch and I ordered it off of Door Dash got it delivered so that’s pretty cool it’s going to last me a little while here before I need to buy more I probably will buy more soon just to have stuff stocked up that’s what I’m going to do

This year just buy things in advance so I’m not waiting at the last minute especially for the garden so we got uh some of that moved out of the way there see that now I put some of my fish fertilizer let me show you guys this is like one of the

Best fertilizers on the Block so especially for your Tomatoes um this is a really good fertilizer for tomatoes I might have to throw some in my tomatoes today so cuz I haven’t fertilized my tomatoes in a while now all you need to do is fill

Up you a can of water put you um like a couple of tablespoons of the fish fertilizer you can follow the instructions on the um bottle and um what I did today I used one of my bamboo sticks and I literally just mixed it you can tell that the

Fertilizer is in there cuz it’ll turn the water a little brown dirty looking and you can smell it as well it’s very strong and um I’ll add that in too so I brought out my I have different fertilizers that I use for the garden and today I’m going to add in this

12105 tomato veget and vegetable garden by expert Gardener and it’s mpk is 12 10 and 5 you can see the five there so 1210 5 I did read that garlic needs some nitrogen now it said that once the garlic sprouts that I need to add in more phosphorus and pottassium so today

I’m going to add in my 511 the well the 511 fish fertilizer and I’m going to add in a little bit of this 12105 just because I haven’t fertilized my garlic now I think um after this I should probably start adding in more phosphorus and potassium and um I

Probably will have to use banana pill water for the the potassium um phosphorus I’m not too sure where I can get the phosphorus from I don’t know if eggshell powder would work but I’ll look into it so um what I’m going to do is I’m just going to take some of this

And sprinkle it in here around the garlic just a little bit and um maybe mix it in the soil a little bit now I have not fertilized my garlic y’all I just this is like literally the first time I’m fertilizing my garlic um and then what I’m going to do next is throw

On this liquid fertilizer which is that fish fertilizer so let me go ahead and uh add my mulch back first just going to throw the mulch back in there now it smell like garlic out here it’s starting to smell like garlic and I think that’s coming from the green garlic which is pretty

Cool I’m like wait am I smelling garlic I am smelling garlic they’re super setty now if I’m successful growing this batch of garlic we are definitely growing garlic more and more I have ideas where I want to let my garlic dry I’ve been watching other gardeners

Braid their garlic I hope that I get there I hope that I’m able to see successfully grow garlic so I’m just taking my fish fertilizer the 511 and you can smell that too it’s not a pleasant smell but hey that’s to get down and dirty in the

Garden and not worry about the smells and just petty little stuff stuff like that that’s childish I’d rather deal with some funky smells and have some fresh fruits and vegetables in my kitchen all right and there we go we just fertilized our garlic and here at home with

Anisha and I will continue to keep you guys updated on that I want to add a few things in the compost let’s go see what we have for my compost um I’m just going to make this my compost container it’s pretty big um I’ve tried to grow some things in

Here I was successful growing Lavender in here but but the carrots were not it was not a success growing the carrots so going to have to keep trying see where I’m going wrong with that and so this is filled with some amazing soil let me get you guys

Closer that soil is amazing it is Rich I love my soil and I’m just going to make this the compost it’s packed with soil um it’ll be a great fertilizer for my crops my plants um so yeah going to bury I got some stuff in here that I want to throw in

So let’s see we are going to so I’m going to have to make some holes at least get some of the soil if I find any big chunks of wood like I used to use this um I used to use this it’s like a wood chips I forgot what type of mulch

It’s called but that’s the mulch I was using at first and it wasn’t good that’s more for a lime this is how I compost at home I just throw in things that are no longer good to eat like um if it’s just sitting around in the kitchen it’s going in the compost

Bananas the pills from the bananas we’ll give it a nice water I’m going to add a few more things I got like some watermelon old plants I throw in there cuting from watermelon are going in there we took all the seeds out sometimes I do find things growing in the compost it’s super

Funny when that happens so now cover it all up what I’m going to do is keep my PST covered with the straw so that’s our compost container I’m going to give it a nice Water Yay that is a wrap everybody we filled up our compost bin we got to fer Iz the garlic today and I think that all will be well here gardening with Anisha so now I’m going to end the video and I just want to say hi and welcome to
