They’re gorgeous. How long have you been keeping them in pots?

    About the pots:

    1. I was in the process of a complete overhaul of my backyard. It was a huge project and I needed to get a lot of work done before I could create a layout for the plants. (The last picture has my front yard hydrangeas in the ground, but everything else was to be for the backyard)
    2. I live in Dallas and our weather here is pretty sporadic especially this time of the year. In previous years I immediately planted them, but it was impossible to keep them alive. Whether it be the heat, or extended periods of drought, the every other day hailstorm, too much sun, not enough sun… so last year I decided to try a new approach by keeping them in pots for a little while before bedding them with the idea that I can protect them from the elements as need be until they were established enough to survive. (hopefully) now I can make sure they get the proper amount of morning sun, I can quickly move them anywhere when we have a tornado warning, and so far they approve lol

Honestly I’m not a big fan of hydrangeas (unpopular opinion, I know), but these are beautiful!!

Beautiful dog to boot! Good taste in aesthetics I see.

You should be proud! Just beautiful! ❤️

Beautiful! Get those babies in the ground where they will really thrive! Mine are 6’ tall and 6’ around now! I bought a lot of the same ones you have but planted them all 5 years ago and they are huge and beautiful now!

Edit: just saw the last photo. They look awesome!

Wow you can grow hydrangeas in a pot? Would it be too much to ask you to give me some help in starting my own little hydrangeas? Even if I have to plant them in the ground eventually, just a way to start it out? I know the color is based on the acidity of the soil but I was always told you have to grow them in the ground.

They’re my favorite flower, and I had a small hydrangea plant in Alabama but lost it when some hired help killed it accidentally. I’ve always wanted to try growing one again now that I’m in Georgia, but just haven’t gotten the gumption to really start. If I can start them out in a pot that I can leave in my sunroom and water for a bit while it grows that’d be cool.
