Hello,

I am located in Southwestern Ontario and I've been thinking about putting a greenhouse in my backyard to extend the growing season. We are in a 6b climate. I am a complete amateur, but I do know that greenhouses work best when facing south (at least in the Northern hemisphere). Do you think a greenhouse would work well here? It would be shaded for all of the morning by the garage and start getting sun around 1-2PM (depending on the month). This is really the only spot I could put a greenhouse without affecting the space needed for my dog to run around. Leaning against the garage is also beneficial because I could provide power to it (I suppose I could supplement with grow lights if there's not enough natural sun).

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you so much. This picture was taken at around 6PM on March 25th if that helps anything.

Imgur link upload is being weird so pic can be seen here:

    Absolutely.

But dig it down 4’ and make it a walipini and you won’t have to heat it in the winter.

Disclosure- you will have to pour some footing walls to stabilize the garage, but it would be a killer space for growing food year round.
