Good morning everybody I just thought I’d put a little bit of what I’ve been doing for me into this video today um so this morning um after a lot of procrastination and will I won’t die should I shouldn’t die I don’t know uh I decided I was going to cut my hair which

Was sort of in a big Bob like that coming out very kind of sticky outy and um so I’ve cut it myself yeah it’s very simple to do there are lots of tutorials on YouTube by the way so I cut it and colored it and then blow dried it

And I’m feeling really good about it that’s it welcome back to Bea Cottage here in the west of Arland this is the view from my kitchen window this morning the seventh day of March isn’t that incredible look at that Sunshine so the key words for what I’m doing

Today are parted plant garden yes a Movable Feast I like to call it a Movable Feast because you can move them around and you can rearrange them and you can change what’s in the pots as well so this is something I’ve been working on for about the past weaken a

Bit and I’m going to be working on this all day today and keep adding little bits to this video so you can see what I’m at it’s a beautiful day the sun is just streaming through the trees buds are opening so here are some of the plants that I’ve already poted up a

Foria Holly oh and you can see what I’m doing here I’ve been clearing lots and lots lots of plants from the gravel now mostly ladies mantle because for some of the year it looks beautiful for the rest of the year it’s just a sort of a mess so these little highin bulbs which

I got out of the barn a little bit too late are now fling and the perfume from them is absolutely beautiful so I brought them indoors to really appre appreciate that scent and this is the view from that same window so you can see it’s a beautiful backdrop to the

Heent bulbs there’s lots of spring color going on out there now because I’m going to have to have some work done here at the back of the cottage the more plants which are potted up the less plants I will lose when the work starts okay pets

Just hold on hold on hold on hold on that’s better now we can see you okay just going to take pancy girl Outside isn’t it such a beautiful day so I’m just taking py for a little walk through my Woodland so I’ve come down to the front gate just to let you see the bed and how it’s coming on more plants to go in um but I’m getting there slowly

But surely I’m dividing up other plants and uh pting them on so once they’ve rooted well then they’ll be popped in here happy is for so you can see a lot of the spawn has hatched and there little what are they called now froglets they called froglets

At this point no they’re not they’re called tdpes what am I thinking [Laughter] of tdpes that hopefully will turn into froglets and further up in what is the Old Pond which has slowly been filled in but of course there’s lots of pools there there’s more frogs spawn yeah You’re going to pull over my little wooden wig wor oh no this way Pats come on Hy come so I’ve chopped up my wood or should I say jigsawed up my wood for this evening I’ve got some nice big thick bits here at the bottom look and

Uh I’ve got some peanuts in the bucket I’m going to go and fill up the bird feeders because look those hungry little birds have been added again and while I’m talking about doing this I’ve just spied over here and remembered that I got these at uh I

Think was little uh exre stayed in my hands look I’ve been cutting up wood there’s no there’s no point in getting those G gel nails here okay I did once and my God they disabled me um right so these are going to be for pots I’m going to sew lots and lots of

Flowers in pots so helenium some flocks paniculata amethyst that looks lovely doesn’t it looks a we bit like lilac now this is one of my favorites I love this chip a just love that always reminds me of weddings during the summer yes what else we got here lilam

Pixels they look very garish but rather nice going to have the old garish um flower you know in the summer otherwise it’s not summer and some more gypa as you as you know I love that okay so so there we go God just you know I’m a bit out of breath

Because well sorry up wood I’ve been put dragging the wood from the poly tunnel over there you know which is where I dry it cuz I I get um every time I’m might walking with py I always come back with a big armful of wood usually it’s very wet you know it’s

Stuff that’s fallen off the ash trees cuz a lot of the ash trees are dying and uh what I do is I just bring it back I mean it could be soaking wet all right so it could be three or four times it’s wet because of the water

Involved and I sand it up over there in the in the poly tunnel and uh just let it air dry and usually within a couple of weeks well no I’m being a we bit overly optimistic there usually within about a month it’s good and

Dry and this is one of the look where do you see that it’s quite thick you know and I’ve just jiga it nice dence wood that’s Ash great stuff Burns beautifully it’s there for the taken no you know I might just go have a cup of tea and fill up those bird

Feeders you know when the when the rain is stopped see that one over there look you see over there in uh where where are we don’t even know we I’m pointing here let me see now can I see think I need my glasses on can’t see

Oh yeah yeah yeah sort of about there isn’t it uh that’s still half full and I have thrown seed down I would I show you because I do spend a lot of money on the birds because they’re worth it so excuse the mess in here this is my

Messy place okay everyone’s AOW at Le one messy place now if I can find what I’m looking for I’ll be lucky let’s see now oh I know I know where I put it now there we go look wild bird feed now I’ve got another box of that in the

Car which I must unload that’s not too bad it was 750 there’s my peanuts in there I buy those by the sack and the sack of peanuts is usually about H between about 50 and 60o so yeah do my little bit for all the little birds and you

Know I I Adore the birds I just love the birds in the wildlife I’m wherever I can I do put out food I even put out food for the fox and look at all those me birds over there look it does your heart good do you know

My grandmother used to say that it does your heart good she’d say well I think looking after animals be they domesticated or wild I think it does your heart good right okay on the things now so this is one of the views from my kitchen window you know the sky is

Opening up to the light earlier and earlier each day and on these mornings there’s a lot of dragon’s breath to be seen lying in the valley or moving across the valley making the mountain look like theity sacred aisle of Avalon that’s a beautiful Story by the way for

You can see the beautiful dragon’s breath now lying quite low in the valley it’s very mystical is it little wonder that Ireland is often referred to as the land of mist and Magic it’s as though it’s trapped in time it’s very Timeless now just look at this color and

And the green and the gold in this first week of March you know a lot of gardeners talk about all year round color and they’re referring very much to herbaceous borders and plants and shrubs but when you plant a woodland Garden like this you are privy to the beautiful colors that nature

Keeps pumping out literally pumping out because as the sap is rising you get these beautiful colors in the bark in the stems in the trunks in the branches and when the sunlight catches it it is extraordinary and the same with all the greens in these plants planted around by

The gble end of the cottage again very much in pots and in fact over the course of the winter I’ve moved some of those plants from the pots and down into the Woodland and especially along the Woodland Edge now this is the dragon’s breath just a few minutes

Later and you can see it’s beginning to rise and sort of disappear revealing the valley and revealing the mountain it’s no longer longer an island again look at these greens set against the blue walls of the cottage I think shades of green are just as extraordinarily beautiful as flowers

Now I’m going to crack on with my work here and before I post this video up I’m going to add on some images of the work that I’ve actually completed today so it may be a little bit later on in the day that I’m going to post this

Video if you’ve enjoyed today’s video please hit the like button and consider subscribing to the Channel I want to thank everyone who supports this Channel and who leaves comments I do get to read everything although um I’m trying to keep focused on the work that I’m doing at the moment

So very little time to actually be on the internet I am going to post some photographs of the work that I’m doing over on my website and possibly do a little podcast over there as well and finally I’m just going to leave you with these photographs of my self sty

Hair um I do feel a lot lighter on top I’ve got to say my hair is quite thick and it does grow very quickly but um it’s so simple you know just to cut your own hair it really is uh I was going to post some links to

Videos that I’ve watched but um I can’t find them now but it is a very very simple method and it’s some point I will actually explain to you how I’ve done it and perhaps put some photographs in as well um the next time that I do it blessings to you all

  4. So beautiful thank you Colette so much its so interesting to see all the spring colours as you say the sap is rising you're right. Hair looks great from what I could see but just be aware anyone, I'm a hairdresser and have had to sort out many disasters for ppl who thought it a doddle to cut their own hair 😬
There is a reason we train for 3yrs but if you do it and its fine then great. After all we're all free to do as we please 😊 we don't all charge a fortune and rip people off. I agree some do just dont undermind trained skills just saying be thoughful. xx

  5. You did a great job on your hair. Your gardens are blooming so beautifully. Just a little behind you in the north eastern part of the U.S., but you are an inspiration as always. Can't wait to get started. Take care and enjoy that sweet little Patsy.

  6. Oh the front bed is looking great! And you did a wonderful job on your hair❤️ The property is coming alive, it’s beautiful!

  7. Oh Colette- seeing you and Patsy tooling around your gardens make me so happy. And Miss Patsy perched in the shopping cart was adorable. She is just a delight.
Here in Texas, it’s cool, it’s warm , it’s dry or it’s rainy all in a 24 hour period. Spring will slide in soon. I am planting herbs and veggies in containers so I can have a better chance of caring for them while discouraging squirrels , cats and opossums from nibbling and lounging on them. It’s a job! Take care-love and light.

  8. Well done on cutting your own hair, looks lovely. When I’m feeling a bit tired in the morning a cup of tea and watching one or two your lovely peaceful videos sets me up a treat.❤️

  9. Patsy must be in 7th Heaven, garish flowers & all! The peanuts look yummy Lucky Birds! Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful❤🐦🐝🐞🌻

  10. Collette! The hair looks very healthy and fits you well. How pretty. I'm in preparation in the garden too. OH MY GOODNESS COLLETTE! I just realized this! I saw a video a while back about how the desert in certain parts of the US can't grow much. And you were telling people to contribute and grow something. I was living in Michigan at the time and I thought I couldn't go on without a garden. Now I'm in Southern Idaho and my garden is list the most green spot in the city! I'm doing it 💚 not the same as the Mojave desert, but High desert none the less. I toss native seeds wverywhere i go. Yay we have a hummingbird who has came back to my yard every year. I always plant corn and things for the critters to munch on too.

  11. Just beautiful..breathtaking..
    I am a hairdresser..well retired..looks good..
    Your property is God sent,
Much hard work and I am sure…very rewarding❤
