Hi friends welcome back to my Channel or hello if you are new spring is right around the corner we are a few weeks away from starting our flower garden I’m going to be planting I want to refresh the back porch so I thought today would be a good day to kind of

Brainstorm and share with you guys what my plans are for my garden this year we’re also doing a ton of Landscaping on the outside of our house which I am so excited about it was put on the back burner after we built our house we

Wanted to just give it some time be done with house projects for a while so we tilled up the yard a few times planted grass seed but that was about it last spring I did make a really cute little garden Nook with some raised garden beds

And a little Corner Nook out by our back patio and I have five garden beds that I’m going to be planting flowers in and then I have a few other small little planters that I like to plant things in as well so I’m going to take you guys

Out there and show you what it looks like currently a few weeks ago I went through all of my garden beds and pulled out the weeds and kind of tilled up the soil there is some B baby’s breath that has grown back in one of the flower beds

So I decided to keep that but yes I’m going to share where I get my seeds from what soil I use how we built our race beds and then I want to show you the start of my plans for the back porch now is the time to start thinking about

Outdoor furniture and getting those staple pieces I’m so excited to be partnering with Wayfair on today’s video by sprucing up our back patio with some patio furniture the first thing I wanted to get when whenever we were planning out our patio for this summer was a new

Outdoor rug and I wanted something that was a little bit neutral something that would hide dirt and mud since we have two little ones and a baby girl on the way we have dogs if it rains and they come up on the back porch they’re going

To get little muddy paw prints and dirt and all the things so I thought a rug that was a little more Brown toned and neutral would hide that in the past I’ve done black and white rugs I’ve done cream rugs and they are beautiful but this summer I thought I’m going for

Functionality and that is to hide the dirt as much as I could so I went with this rug from Wayfair it was such a great deal Wayfair is running amazing sales on their outdoor furniture and Furnishing so I will link a ton of products that I love from their website

But the rug was the first thing that I picked out next we really needed a new coffee table for out in our patio area and I decided to go with this one it’s a beautiful neutral cool wood tone it’s very tall and large so I love that and

This was a great price a few different ones that I was deciding in between on wayfair’s website I ended up choosing this one and I’m so happy that I did I feel like it compliments our other Furniture really well and I know we’re

Going to get a ton of use out of this I feel like we’re almost out on our backpack porch more in the spring because the weather’s nice it’s beautiful and now that our little girl is a year and a half old she loves to go outside so we

Are living out there next we got some rocking chairs which I was really wanting some sort of rocking chair because we have two swings for our kiddos something about like a swinging motion that’s really nice I saw on wafer’s website they had these beautiful wooden rockers with these cushions on

Them oh they are beautiful exactly what I was hoping to find to add to our patio so I got two of those and one for me and one for my husband and I thought with a baby on the way we’re going to spend so much time out there she’s do the end of

May so early summer I know we will be living on the back porch and I feel like just having a rocking chair where I can rock her is going to be so nice everything was so easy to put together my husband put it all together together

In less than an hour I would say and that was bringing the packages back there and setting everything up super simple and great quality we also have this planter box that I’m so excited to plant flowers in I haven’t seen any flowers like at the home improvement

Stores yet but I know that they’re coming out soon so I’ll be planting some beautiful flowers as soon as I get the chance it already looks so much better and so refreshed I did plant a few little spring flowers in some pots and it just looks so cheery back there now

And I can’t wait to really add more flowers and just flare to it as these months go on and more flowers are brought out but I’m excited to have this base Furniture exactly how we like it we have plenty of seaing for hosting and I

Know we’re going to get a lot of use out on our back porch like I said I will link all of the Wayfair finds that I me mention Down Below in my description box anything you’re looking for to spruce up your back porch or front porch or just

Outdoor entertaining area they have tons of things to choose from so thank you again to Wayfair for sponsoring this portion of today’s video now let’s head out to the Garden I want to show you guys what it’s look like here’s our garden area right now currently um it

Looks pretty rough and our grass situation so last summer we tilled up this whole area and we planted grass um but we did not do you can see exactly where it stops in our field so we’re going to have to till all of the rest of

It up replant grass and that’s a project we’ll be doing very soon we’re also doing something down with our walkout basement we’ve got lots of landscaping to do as well as finishing out the bottom of the house um that goes all the way around we used cedar fence post for

Our garden beds and I just PL PL flowers back here um they were already this brown color we didn’t stain them and we used two boards all the way around they are I believe 6ft boards so they’re a little bit shorter than 6 ft because we

Did cut off the top of the board it was kind of like they call it an ear a little more choppy or like decorative so we just cleaned off the lines built them put those directly on the ground and filled them with top soil and mushroom compost and that worked out

So well last year I also added some lime to the soil and then we put some more top soil on top of that and a little bit of mulch to kind of retain the water and it worked out really well you can see here is our baby’s breath that is

Growing back already so I went ahead and left that and then tilled the rest of it up and I’m going to add more mushroom compost mix it all in together and probably a little bit more lime and then once I plant everything I’ll add some

More mulch as well and we did add some gravel to this area so we wouldn’t have to worry about weeding it I’ve got my water hose we built this to go around our AC unit but we had to move it out um this board on top is going to go away

I’m not sure exactly how we’re going to do the that this year and I’m planning on moving these two Planters over here and maybe doing a tall trellis climbing flower of sorts and then in this area over here I have a potting bench coming very soon which I’m very excited because

In the summertime I will cut flowers from our garden and make arrangements and I will usually just do that outside last year I did it on our porch because this is up higher obviously than this area but it’ll be so nice to have an actual potting bench right here there’s

Our kitchen window so I’m able to see all of the beautiful flowers whenever they’re in bloom out my kitchen window while I’m washing dishes and I just love it it is one of the things that brings me so much joy I said our kids love it

Too so we added the swings last year and I did have to order brein a new one so this one is new this year because they get a little dingy after a while this one has held up wonderful this was from last year so left that but yes let’s go

Back inside and I will share with you all what flowers I’m planning on planting in our Cut Flower card have this little Playhouse for breelan on our back porch I’ve left it here for now because if we’re out here enjoying the evening or day it’s really nice to have

An area for her to play in so she’s been loving this and I added some little faux plants to the Planters in the front for now until we can get our hands on some real flowers but I don’t know if I’m going to keep this here I thought about

Moving it out to the yard I thought about moving it over by our other flower beds over by our pole barn but we’ll see it is so cold out there my hands are freezing we’ve actually had really nice weather this spring or like early spring um over the weekend we’ve had days that

Have even been in the’ 70s but today I think the high is like 4 7 and it feels frigid so my hands are cold just from being out there for like 5 minutes anyways let’s talk about the flowers that I’m planning on planting this year

Because I had so much fun with it last year it was our first time really getting to experiment with a variety of flowers and I had so much fun with it I had flowers all summer long that I was able to make into Arrangements I was able to take them to girlfriend friends

I was able to have friends come over and we picked flowers together it was just so much fun I enjoyed watering them every morning it just was a part of my routine getting that sunlight in first thing was just really really nourishing for me especially in that season that we

Were in the garden was very therapeutic for me last year specifically but I’ve always enjoyed it in years past as well I’ve got two notebook that I’ve been keeping track of my garden plans and things I want to do this spring content I want to make for you guys um I’m just

Such a pen and paper kind of girl so last year I ordered all of my flower seeds from a company called Eden Brothers and that’s where I ordered all of my seeds from again this year I had great luck with my seeds last year they

Have a ton of varieties to choose from I feel like they explain them very well on the website description let me pull up my order I ordered some flowers and then my mom also ordered flowers from this site this year and she ordered an abundance of flower seeds and didn’t

Realize it so she’s actually going to give me some of her extra seeds that she’s not going to have room for and a lot of those were different types of zenyas they were different varieties and typically whenever you go to the hardware store the Zenia packets are really bright colors they’re like red

And orange and yellows and that’s it and they’re also only one shape of flower but on this website they have so many different colors of zenyas different types of zenyas some that look more like a Dalia versus a Zenna but zenyas are very easy to grow I love that so we’ve

Got some white ones some pink ones mom’s giving me a bunch of Zena and Cosmos seeds I actually have some faux Cosmos that I used in my spring decor and I’m playing on growing them again this year those are the two main flowers that she’s going to give me and then I also

Ordered some other ones on my own I ordered some Sweet William seeds these are more of like a bunch of flowers they I believe will look something similar to this almost like a hydrangea where they’re like in a ball flower shape they are white flowers like this um so sweet

William seed I also got a a cosmo variety that are called cottage pink seeds and they were all different shades of light pinks a little bit darker pink um and they have different shapes to them as well forget me knot seeds I have white forget me knots status seeds I

Don’t know if I’ve ever had this but I thought this would be a good filler this is more of like a bushier type flower um and these are a purple color Gladius flower bulbs in white those are more of like a taller stock flower I think those will be really pretty and

Those are bulbs I’ve never planted flower bulbs before I’ve only planted flowers from seeds so I’m branching out a bit and I’m excited about that as seeds these look very similar to a peion or grai however you say it and these are white as well most of the flower seeds

Are white except for some are purple and some are like a light pink and I did get a few blue ones as well names rocket seeds these are purple they look beautiful lemon mint seeds these are more of a tall flower uh more stock likee and they’re purple as well baby

Blueeye seeds these are blue on the outside and white on the inside Snap Dragons like I said we have some white ones and then I also grabbed this apple blossom variety that’s a really pretty light pink I also ordered some ranuculus bulbs I have have 20 of those coming and

They are in this beautiful peachy pink variety they’re called the Romantic mix what I’m planning on planting this year those seeds should be coming in anytime I’m so excited to get them in get them in my hands get to plant them in the ground like I said one thing to help

Your flowers Thrive is finding good soil so I recommend filling your raised beds with a good quality top soil and then also adding some sort of compost I’ve had good luck with mushroom compost got it from a local Farm last year and then I wanted to share some books that have

Really helped me figure out what type of flowers to plant how to take care of them how to do more of that cut Garden feel I had my iced coffee sitting on this book so it’s a little bit wet but this book is called Cut Flower Garden by

Floret farm this has been so so inspiring to look through I’ve read it several times she shares all different types of flower varieties for the different times of year how to make arrangements with the flowers that you plant the tools that you’ll need I mean this is golden full of knowledge and she

Also has a show on Magnolia Network and I’ve watched every episode several times of her show and it is so helpful it is so knowledgeable and again it’s just inspiring she has helped me in my own flower garden Journey seen a lot of fruit come from it so highly recommend

Her books I’ll link all of the books that I have from her but I feel like this one has been the most helpful another thing we have planned for the Garden area is to hang those beastro lights all along the top above the garden we’re also finishing out our

Porches we’re going to put a cedar ceiling on our back porch and our front porch we’ve got Cedar Post back there and we just want to finish it all out so that’s coming soon I’ll share that in a video our Landscaping in the front is coming along very nicely we are about to

Pour our sidewalks I know I’ve shared that over on Instagram a little bit but we’re pouring all of our sidewalks we’re adding Rock to our landscape and we’re planting a ton of different things I have Evergreens that I’m planning on planting I have some aelia bushes I also

Have bushes that kind of look like hydrangeas but they’re not they’re a little different I’m also waiting to find different hydrangea varieties so I know the little limes are really popular I want tons of white hydrangea bushes I also want to try to make all of our Landscaping really tight and more

Cottage like I’m just so excited to plan that there are some different Rose varieties that I’m looking for so I am in the hardware stores in the garden centers looking for all of these plants and I’m so excited for them to start coming out but for now we’ve got lots of

Projects to work on we also poured a huge um concrete pad apron in front of our garage we put up my son’s basketball goal we also added more rock to our driveway we’re adding more grass so it’s going to look a lot different here in a few months anyways that is our garden

Plans for this spring and summer I’m so excited for all of these projects and I can’t wait to take you all along with me I hope you guys have a great rest of your day and I’ll see you all soon in my next one bye Friends Oh

  1. Today is March 19th, the first day of spring. I live in Amherst, New York, a suburb of Buffalo, New York and it is 35° and light snow. Not exactly a good day for the first day of spring, but that's okay. We haven't had any significant snow since January! This area of the country is definitely a good thing❤ enjoy your video. I'm thinking of planning gladiola bulbs and pots. I hope it works. Thank you for the inspiration

  2. If u plant daffodil bulbs in the Fall….u will have blooms in the spring and they will come back up every year👏👏🐇🪺

  3. I asked my husband if we could order the rocking chairs and rug for our back patio, I love them. Your smile is contagious, you can tell you're a very happy mama. Love your videos

  4. Everything looks so nice and organized.🖤
I cleaned out the garage after Christmas and put everything that we wanted to sell on the back patio.
So…now I have to deal with that before doing any outdoor gardening, etc.
    Slapping myself. LOL!

  5. I enjoyed so much hearing about all of your outdoor plans that are coming up. I love the new coffee table, rug and the rocking chairs. Your back porch is just so cozy and comfortable and I know y’all will enjoy it so much this summer as well as your front porch. I remember your cut flower beds from last summer and they were gorgeous. I don’t know if you follow Amy Fritz or not (you probably do) anyway I think it was last year or the year before she had videos of her wonderful hydrangeas and also an English Garden on the side of her house and it was just so beautiful. Try not to overdo Kailyn! 😊❤😊🌸🐇🌼

  6. Hello Kailyn!!! Loved this video!!! Can't wait to see your flower garden!!! Last year it was beautiful!!!! I love the rug and rocking chairs!!! The kids swings are really sweet!!! Until your next one take care and God bless!!!😊

I love all your devotion and hard work you do to making your home a beautiful breath of fresh air ! You are definitely one of a kind Kailyn. Thanks for sharing! 🙏💙🩷🩷🙏🙏

  8. Kaitlyn,
Daffodils and tulips are best planted in the fall and will bloom in spring. They will come up every year. Gladiolas in my experience need to be dug up each fall and then replanted unless they are near a basement wall. I love Azaleas and Peonies. Is your other plant that looks like a hydrangea a rhododendron? If so it will need some space. Depends on the acidity of your soil in what color flowers you will get. If you plant your roses put some coffee grounds in with them. It boosts growth and helps to deter aphids. Sweet William also comes in pink.

Can't wait to see your flowers. Thanks for sharing.

  9. First day of Spring and we have to crank the heat up! I think our am temp was 36. 😮 My granddaughter did NOT want to wear her jacket today for preschool ! Because most of last week it was in the mid 60s and 70s and she could get away with a light sweatshirt. Are you one of those gals that have a ton of energy while pregnant ? No way could I maintain garden beds while pregnant.😂 I have to put my energy into putting everything in storage. Our landlord decided this was the year he wanted to sell our home. So lots of big changes for us in the upcoming Spring and Summer months. Looking forward to seeing all your changes as well!

  10. Everything looks great! You should consider having an outdoor fireplace built on the side of you patio by your daughter’s house. It would face the house but it would be on the side that you look at as you’re sitting on your couch😊

  11. Did you order any of Floret Flower’s seeds?! I did and I’m so excited!! I started them indoors and they are popping up 🤩

  12. SUPER video, sweetie! OMGosh, I'm so excited to get my flowers in. I've got quite a few veggies and herbs are already in and growing. Gardening is my therapy. Can't wait to see all you and Taylor do. xoxTXDeb

  13. I love flowers, I would love to have raised beds like yours. Can't wait to see them. The little play house was so cute. It looks good there to me. Your looki g so good.

  14. Can't wait to start planting but I live in Wisconsin so the rule of thumb no planting before Memorial Day.We had had really no snow since Jan.now tommorow heavy wet snow is coming😅Have to hold off a little longer.

  15. Thank you for the video dear,
i am looking for the links to the flower book you talked about and the website for the flower seeds
