Salad Garden Update

I am out in the garden today looking at the beautiful salad garden and giving an update on the seeds I planted at the end of January. Directly sowing the seed really did prove to be productive, as a majority of the seed I planted did sprout and are growing very well. As a mater of fact I am already harvesting from the plants I started from seed and enjoying them in salads and other dishes.

Hey there this is Vincent welcome to my garden it’s March 16th and this is my salad Garden update I’m excited to show you what’s growing in my garden I have not posted any videos for a while due to my shoulder injury I got at work falling out of a trailer so I

Have not done much out in the garden but spring has sprung without me and so has my garden today we look at the salad garden and all the seeds we’ve planted here at the end of January we planted several different varieties of seed the seed has sprouted quickly and

Is growing in our warm climate I have chives in the middle that’s the Grassy plant in the middle there there’s three of those clumps then I have I believe that’s kale coming up these right here and these are lettuce and back over here I have some basil I believe that’s holy basil that has kind of a sweet licoricey flavor to

It and some more lettuce coming up randomly this is Swiss chard good and salads here we have oregano and some dill coming up in spots these are cayenne pepper I believe we had those growing here last year very Pro prolific and then hiding in there we have some red fire or

Spinach and I just have a few of those coming up randomly so I don’t know what happened I had a lot of those last year it’s a little late for them to even be coming up here you can see my radishes growing really good from the seeds we put out in a previous

Video and I have a lot of these little babies coming up as well of the tral we have our purple Ruda begas a few are coming up not too many and some other stuff looks like dill and some not sure what that is coming up there maybe more

Rudas there’s some okra coming up in the middle this is the buck Choy still having a little snail damage I’m going to have to put out some more snail bait unfortunately I don’t like to use that but we have to and then this is the lettuce I believe that’s a little okra

Seedling and those will grow up and shade the garden in the summer this is labeled blue kale and it is that it has some snail damage as well our mustard greens are very small still the seedlings we planted but are growing as you can see maybe you can see I can see

Them our cilantro is huge and blooming mustard greens here that were grown earlier are blooming as well and this is my purple sprouting broccoli that’s coming up and I almost forgot to mention this is my salad Bernett and it has a very good flavor to it wonderful ingredient for your

Salads I also like to get creative in the garden with edible flowers like Viola violas are an edible flour that do well in our cooler Seasons so I have some alysum sweet alysum blooming smells so good I have some Viola blooming all this stuff needs water we haven’t had much

Rain please excuse the weeds I haven’t been able to weed filming this is really difficult we have some dusty miller amorus that’s blooming we have snails as well that’s Cast Iron Plant it needs a little trimming as you can see here my on Choy is germinating the idea here is to let it

Grow up here in the shade during the summer we’ll see how long it lasts and then I have on Choy some I’m sorry you Choice some I don’t know if I’m saying that right but they’re coming up All Along The Edge also some amarant and and some basil have

Germinated and then I have collared greens that are all around here they’ll actually take over this bed eventually and then I’ll have basil as well and the other greens that I can harvest in the Meantime so get creative in your garden growing your very own salad ingredients please like And subscribe to our Channel thank you and have a nice Day

  1. Hi Vince. When I had a garden I put out shallow saucers with beer and the snails climbed in and never came out.

  2. Hey Cousin! Love the garden. It is so satisfying going out to the yard and harvesting your own food. Hope you shoulder heals quickly.
