  1. Yep, I'm sure my dog would eat the soil too, with fish emulsion. Good to know what you recommend, thanks. She would also go after alfalfa pellets!!!

  2. Thank you so much! I have always wondered if I could fertilize some of the wild blackberries that have taken over on my farm pasture, so I know what to do to feed them and prune them.

  4. What type of blackberries are yours? And are they erect or trailing? I just planted four triple crown blackberries which are supposed to be trailing… But I need to make some type of trellis or containment for them. Are yours just growing up against cattle panel? It looks like there's support only on one side of the canes. Perhaps that works for erect blackberries? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  5. 5:37 Don't tell my you ran out of all your clearance holly tone/holly food to use on your berry bushes? Bah, I'm guessing plant tone will work well, just as holly tone/holly food works well enough on non acid loving plants. I keep hearing in the news that the cicadas are supposed to be really bad this year. HEADS UP!

  6. If you've got your second year canes getting ready to produce, where are the first year canes? Have they not broken through the soil yet?

  7. Thanks Gary. I learned something today watching this. The film on the raspberries! As always appreciate your videos

  8. Blackberries – mine are primocanes and can fruit on 1st and 2nd year growth. This will be their second season and instinctively, I have already been looking at cane color. I do this with my rose bush canes as well. Great tip. Blueberries – also 2nd year; they survived the winter in their grow bags (yay!) – do you think transplanting into the ground will delay their ability to fruit this season? I know it can take a few seasons regardless. Not stressing, just curious. Thanks Gary!

  9. Hello Gary have you any advice for dealing with Spotted Wing Drosphila on raspberries? It seems hopeless I am considering digging out my raspberries to use the area for a different crop. Thanks

  10. Gary thanks so much for this video. I have this knowledge for years but as I'm getting older I tend to forgot alot. I get huge berries from my triple crown blackberries each year. Hope to get my pruning done. I will try acid miracle grow on my blueberries. Love ur channel I tell all my gardening friends about ur channel. Keeping coming. I'll be watching.

  11. My raspberries have already come to life and new canes and leaves growing like crazy. Blackberries are waking up and blueberries already have flowers! Even some of my strawberries have flowers. I hace my blackberries and raspberries in 5 gallon buckets and was wondering what you recommend to use to keep the branches from falling to the ground and keep them all upright and more contained? Thank you!

  12. Thank you for the video, new yard so clear palate to work with here, just planted 4 thorn less blackberry plants yesterday and 4 blueberry plants a couple of weeks ago. I have been a subscriber for 3 years now. Finally taking the plunge and working the overall yard. I have a small vegetable garden that as the soil is built up has improved. Thank you for the advise, I find your videos informative.

  13. Good tip. I planted raspberry 2 years ago and was unsure what i should cut. Thanks Gary. I better understand the new vs old canes and will wait to definitely know which ones to cut.

  14. Hi Gary how are you doing today iam doing fine today thank you for sharing stay safe ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  15. Right on time again! Iโ€™m always soooo confused about pruning my blackberries and raspberries. This shed a better light on the subject. If I could subscribe again to your channel, I would ๐Ÿ˜‚. As always, thanks, Gary!๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿชด
