When I say “I’m going to figure out the Alocasia”, I don’t mean I will learn the secrets of how to keep it looking perfect forever – that mindset is the sure path to disappointment.

Instead, I’m going to:
(1) Understand my environmental conditions by measuring light and observing my temperature/humidity.
(2) Try my best with care – watering, fertilizing, repotting when necessary.
(3) Let Nature take its course – given the best possible *documented* conditions and care techniques, what is the expected rate of leaf loss? How well does it perform in indoor conditions? Is it a satisfying long-term plant or a shorter term pleasure?
