Animal Crossing New Horizons is absolutely full of all kinds of fun secret details that you might not know about and over the years I found a lot of these so I’ve decided to make a compilation going over 50 secrets that you might not know already in New Horizons these range from small details

To character secrets to hidden features that you might not know about so leave a like on the video if you’re ready for some secrets and let’s jump right into this at number one we have Dr Shrunk the funniest or the least funniest character depending on your preference I

Personally love shrunk though and I think he is absolutely hilarious with his kind of dad jokes that’s definitely my vibe either way Dr shrunk will mention a certain character who has been forgotten by the sands of time and this is of course his comedy Mentor frillard frillard was only seen back in Animal

Crossing city Folk really so it’s been a really long time since he’s been in the games and he’s honestly one of the most forgotten about characters so it’s really nice that Dr shrunk still makes a reference to him after all of these years even if he doesn’t get referenced

By name which is kind of a shame speaking of references to past games in at number two we have Blanca mentioning the fact that you used to be able to draw on her face this feature was one of my absolute favorites in the old Animal Crossing games and I’m sure many of you

Remember this where you could draw all kinds of crazy things on Blanca’s face in fact that was the character’s main gimmick that they had a blank face and you could draw whatever you wanted on it I miss this feature so much I wish it had returned in Animal Crossing New

Horizons in at number three you can invite DJ KK to the roof as a separate character and he’ll even mention regular KK kind of confirming that they are the same character but not directly now DJ KK makes a much bigger role in the game now obviously because he takes part in

The happy and Paradise celebrations right at the end but you can invite him to the Roose which in a way does kind of hint that he might be a separate version of the character rather than just a Persona either way he’s not going to confirm it to us sadly so we’re just

Going to have to theorize about it ourselves for number four let’s leave the roost for a moment and head to the airport now if you head in here around 4:00 a.m. and an island broadcast is about to happen then you go talk to Wilbur he actually won’t let you go

Anywhere he won’t let you visit another Island go on a mystery tour whatever you’d like to do he will not let you do it until you’ve seen Isabelle’s broadcast now I don’t know if this means he’s just some kind of super fan of Isabelle or maybe this is just a clever

Way of disguising a limitation with in the game but either way it’s neat and this was actually something that was only introduced in the game recently so it’s cool that there is this sort of change that I feel like a lot of people would never notice I mean it is so

Circumstantial that you would need to be in here at this specific time trying to leave your Island I reckon most people probably don’t play the game at 4:00 a.m. even if they do time travel but if you are at some point then head in there before it hits 5:00 a.m. and you should

Be able to get this sort of rare interaction with Orville which I really like for number five we’re inviting torta to the roost and he’ll actually show up not wearing his trademark hat now from what I can tell this is the only place in the game where you can see

Him not wearing it and he does look very odd he kind of looks like a peir but I don’t know if that’s exactly what they were going for or it’s just a coincidence either way it’s definitely an unusual look for him but it’s kind of nice to see the characters in different

Ways after with so used to seeing them look the same throughout basically every animal crossing game he will also mention the fact that he used to be May and he’ll even mention your old towns as well which I really like he’ll specifically make mention to I guess

Animal Crossing wild World or city Folk since he says about a cafe in the museum which of course was only a thing back in Animal Crossing wild World and city Folk the cafe had its own Standalone building back in New Leaf which actually we might hear more about later for number six

This one is related to CJ and flick of course these two are inseparable you always see them together if you invite CJ to the roost or you invite flick to the roost they will bring along the other one which is really cool so it’s a nice way of quickly meeting the both of

Them we always hear these two talking about each other but before the 2.0 update and the roost you could actually never see them together at any point in the game which is kind of crazy to think about now with the roost and being able to invite characters in Via ribo cards

You can see so many different combinations of characters that you’d never ever get to see before despite the characters being linked throughout the series it’s really interesting to me and I just love the fact that we can get to see all these characters interact in different ways in at number seven this

One is related specifically to Timmy and Tommy now for most of the younger characters in the game if you invite them to the roost instead of having a coffee they’ll actually have a biscuit or a cookie I guess and this is because they’re basically Too Young in order to

Drink coffee however Timmy and Tommy happen to be the exception to this for some reason and they will bring along coffee and they can even come and pick it up at the counter anytime they want as well now I guess the reason for this is the fact that Timmy and Tommy are a

Bit more mature than some of the other characters in the game for example they run Nooks cranny and they’ve done a bunch of stuff in the past games as well maybe they’re even older than they look and they just haven’t grown very much since we’ve known them in the games but

It is kind of interesting that so many of the other younger characters including ones like Daisy May who you know do work around your Island and do tons of independent and hard work they do not drink coffee it’s only Timmy and Tommy so maybe that does kind of imply

They are a bit older than we first thought in at number eight you can invite Isabelle to the roost as well of course and she will actually make a direct reference to your town back in Animal Crossing you leave now New Leaf is a fan favorite so many people played

It and still love it to this day and even you know still play it to this day so it’s really nice that Isabelle would make a reference to the game where she originated from and like I mentioned with torta earlier so many of these different characters which you can

Invite will make a reference to the Past games that they were a part of something which I really love seeing I think it’s so great that the past games have kind of been been honored in this way throughout the sort of interactions you can have with these characters so

Definitely invite as many as you can and see which ones talk about past games it might surprise you because it is just Jam full of nostalgia for old Animal Crossing fans or I guess sort of little tidbits of information for those of you who maybe didn’t play these older games

Because I know so many people started with New Horizons for the very first time starting us off did you know that you can put things inside of the science pod this new item is really cool and you can even can see it in Petrie’s house

It’s one of the few items that has a functionality like this where you can actually put something inside and see it float around in fact I think it’s the only one that works exactly like this now this only works for the smaller miscellaneous items it can’t be another

Big piece of furniture but for example you can see the lucky cat in here I just wonder what kinds of experiments are going on in this science pod honestly it’s a little bit Sinister for number two did you you know that villagers will sometimes have incredibly self-aware dialogue about

Animal Crossing New Horizons this specifically relates to Lazy villagers where sometimes there will question whether they are actually living inside of a simulation and that the island is just a game made to amuse someone else a lot of people talk about villager dialogue not being that great in animal

Cross New Horizons and I definitely think it could be better but this dialogue honestly proves that there is some really amazing stuff to discover of course you do have to get lucky enough to actually get this dialogue from a villager and as far as I know it’s only lazy villagers that see this

But it makes it all the more worthwhile to interact with your characters when you can get gems like this although it is a little bit concerning that they’re becoming self-aware let’s hope they don’t take over our islands for number three we have a small little feature

That I think you will enjoy these Castle items were added in 2.0 and did you know that you can actually put things on top of them like with a science party it has to be a smaller miscellaneous item and it can be dropped right on top of the

Tower I just think this is a really neat little detail that makes these amazing items even better you can add your own unique little flare to them to make them even more interesting personally I like putting gyroids up the top of here because it’s like their little guards guarding over

The castle of our Islands if you’ve done this yourself then let me know in the comment section what items youve put on top of the towers I’d love to get some more inspiration number five if you head over to the Happy own Paradise office during a major holiday in the game such

As Halloween or toy day you might find that Lotty has actually decorated her office the happy own Paradise archipelago doesn’t really get involved with what’s going on on your main island but this is a nice little acknowledgement of some of the more major events a really cool little detail

Is that lty actually carves her pumpkin to look like her it has the same eyelashes that she does I kind of wish they did a little bit more more for the holidays in the game I think it’d be really fun if there were proper celebrations going on over here as well

And maybe some exclusive items to get but still I do think it’s cool that they acknowledge it in their own little way despite the fact that it’s basically perpetually summer over on the archipelago for number six if you’ve used the ability to redecorate your villagers homes to look however you want

Then there’s an interesting little detail that happens if you don’t add in a cooking stove or a crafting table as it turns that if you don’t add these items in the villagers will actually replace something in their home so that they can put them out that means that

Your villagers will always be able to craft an item or cook even if you don’t give them the means to do so which is pretty resourceful as you can see here this is Bob’s crafting table and it’s not one I gave to him in his house he

Doesn’t have one I didn’t have the room to put it in but still he will bring it out when he needs to craft a recipe it’s just a little bit of a shame that he always seems to have duplicate recipes and he doesn’t really give me a choice

Whether I want to keep it or not still it’s interesting that villagers can modify their own homes like this redecorating our villager homes was definitely one of the best new features that they introduced in Animal Crossing New Horizons it happens to be one of my absolute favorites and you unlock the

Ability to do this once you’ve completed the happy and Paradise DLC so it’s definitely worth getting it if you’re able to I hope Bob likes the home that I made for him I think it fits his personal very well he seems pretty happy with it for number seven we’re back to

The roost now if you invite a regular villager with an amiibo who happened to live on your island in the past but doesn’t currently they will actually remember you they will have some special dialogue where they will remember living on your Island which is incredibly cool this is especially cool because in most

Other places in the game your previous villagers don’t remember you at all which is definitely a bit of a shame I remember back in Animal Crossing New Leaf you could actually see your past villagers wandering around the Main Street which was a really cool little detail and although we don’t get

Anything like that here the fact that you can invite back your past villagers and they will have some memory of the island life does make me really happy I feel like villager interactions like this one are honestly super underrated so I had to mention this within this

Video for number eight if you actually turn up to a KK slatter concert which is something I don’t really do too often and you play a song with him it turns out you can clap along with your villagers in the little cutscene I’m pretty sure this feature was added with

The 2.0 update and it coincided with the ability to clap along to CPP songs when you go on a boat ride with him it’s just a fun little interaction that you can enjoy with your villagers you will actually have to have them sitting down at this area if you want to get them

Involved but I think it’s really cute and I’m happy that they added this little detail in as will know tomn as the business savvy raccoon or Tanuki who is in charge of operations on your Island as well as the Mastermind behind the Island Getaway package and also the

Guy you can go to to expand your home however did you know that tomn is actually really big into golf there’s more than just one hint to this in New Horizons the first being the golf clubs that you can see in the resident services tent before it upgrades and

Later special golf magazines that Tom Nook has in his office in the upgraded resident services building if you’re not convinced though this seems to have started in happy designer a spin-off game for the 3DS where Tom Nook could be seen sinking golf balls during some of the game’s loading screens this little

Bit of background for Tom Nook has been carried over to New Horizons as you can see and honestly I think it fits his character pretty well he definitely gives me dad who likes to take long golfing trips kind of Vibes this works really well for Tom Nook hopefully one

Day he can actually retire and play as much golf as he wants we’ll have to see number two the AEL family the AEL sisters have a complicated family history which is something that has been explained throughout all of the different Animal Crossing games we get little glimpses of this in New Horizons

And one of the most present is the family portraits on the wall behind where Sable works here we can see some really interesting portraits one of which seems to be the parents of the Able Sisters getting married others showing the age difference between the sisters and the very bottom photo

Showing them all together more grown up very similar to how they appear in the games now to the bottom left we have a photo of all three sisters chilling on the beach which could even show that they’ve been to this island sometime before if you look really closely at

This scene you can also see a little book which appears to have been handed down throughout the family as it has a little Hedgehog on it since their parents died Sable has been in charge of the store and handling the creation of clothing whilst Mabel handles the customers who come into the shop

Originally their sister lebel was arange from them but now they’re all back together and even if Lael has gone off on her own to pursue her fashion career hopefully we can see them all together again sometime in New Horizons as they were back in Animal Crossing New

Leaf number three bl’s book if you visit the museum during the daytime you’re likely to find blav fast asleep as he is an owl however if you visit during the night blav will be wide awake and on some occasions you can actually catch him reading a book to keep himself

Entertained through his long work nights however we don’t really know exactly what he’s reading but upon closure inspection it does seem like it’s related to the exhibits of the museum which is very fitting for him this isn’t the most hidden secret in the game but I just thought it’s really cool to see

Blab actually doing something in his free time rather than just standing there idly like he would in previous Animal Crossing games so I just wanted to point it out in this video another interesting detail about blav that you might not know is that he like Sable

Does not wear a hat for Halloween or Christmas like most of the other characters do maybe blav and Sable just don’t celebrate these events who knows number four red and tomn look’s past you may have noticed that red a traveler who visits your Island via shabby cargo boat

At a secret Beach isn’t exactly the most welcome character on the island not only because he sells fraudulent art but also because he and Tom Nook actually have a history this has been foreshadowed in previous games especially in happy home designer where Tom Nook talks about how

Foxes are never to be trusted Tom Nook will then talk about how he’s worked with a fox before but never will again due to the incident it’s anyone’s guess as to what this incident actually was but it safe to say that Tomic haror a longtime dislike of red it seems like

Red won’t be making a proper appearance on your Island anytime soon unless these two can somehow patch things up and solve their bickering this goes beyond Tom Nook however even red tells you to be wary of tomn and that he cannot be trusted which means the beef between the

Two of them runs deep you’ll just have to decide who you want to trust more number five Isabelle the gardener did you know that Isabelle is apparently really keen on gardening so much so that you can see her with a wide variety of different flowers in resident services

Most if not all of these flowers seem to be hybrids too which means she would have to go out of her way for all the extra effort and have the knowledge to actually crossbreed these flowers it’s always nice to see Isabelle getting a break to enjoy herself and focus on her

Hobbies as she’s pretty much one of the most hardworking characters in the entire game her little shirt for the coldest seasons of the Year also has a little flower on it too which is a really nice tiny little detail that I enjoy a lot speaking of Isabelle she

Also has a cute little framed photos in her office space which look like they were taken when she arrived on the island very cool number seven Isabelle’s brother on occasion you can get a special piece of dialogue from Isabelle during her announcements with her mentioning that her brother asked for a

Wakeup call Isabelle is of course referring to dig b a character who was last seen in Animal Crossing New Leaf Isabelle and Digby are actually Twins and they seem to be pretty close though he’s yet to make it into New Horizons this little reference to him is pretty

Cool and hopefully we can see him make some kind of comeback as Digby was a pretty popular character number eight label and Lael did you know that in animal crust in New Horizons label has actually changed her name from previous animal Crossing games she used to be

Called Lael which was her new name under the tutd of the fashion designer Gracie but now that label seems to have gone off on her own to do her own thing in the world she’s gone back to her original name label which matches with the rest of her family it’s a subtle

Little change but it shows how the sisters have reconnected and gotten closer with each iteration of Animal Crossing so it’s a very nice touch invite a villager to your campsite buyer an amiibo card you actually have to craft items for them if you want them to eventually move into your Island you

Have to do this three separate days in a row now a fun little detail about the items that you craft for these Villages within your campsite is that they’ll actually put them on display you might not have noticed this because most people don’t tend to go back to the

Campsite once they’ve already crafted for the Villager but if you leave and come back in you’ll see that they’ve placed the item within their tent so it doesn’t just go into the void and completely disappear which I think is a really nice detail it goes to show that the Villager actually really appreciated

The item that you made for them so it’s good that they didn’t take the time to just throw it away once I wasn’t looking I’m happy they displayed the item that I took the time to craft number two sleepy villagers now sometimes you just have to move a villager’s house it doesn’t

Matter what time it is it could literally be 3:00 a.m. but you have to move their house and there’s actually a fun little detail that happens if you move a villager’s house when they’re asleep they’ll show up to resident services in their pajamas which shows tomn has literally made them come over

In the middle of the night at their kind of expense just so you can move their house even though they were fast asleep it’s got to be done what can you say Bob has to come out here even though he’s still in his pajamas and agree to allow

Me to move his house I just thought this one was really funny and it’s cute that they added it in rather than having them in their normal clothes when they would have been taken out of their bed so late at night number two pumpkin secret now

This one isn’t so much of a hidden secret but I feel like this is a common misconception that a lot of people seem to have about the pumpkins and it’s that you don’t actually need to water them at all to have them grow now there is some

Dialogue in the game that suggests you should be Watering your pumpkins and keeping care of them but you actually don’t need to do anything with them if you want them to grow now I believe that if you do water them it might give you a better chance of growing more pumpkins

At once which is always a good idea but once that’s done you don’t need to touch your pumpkins again you don’t need to water them I know a lot of people probably don’t have pumpkins on their Islands because Halloween is over but I always recommend having them around

Because they do sell for a lot of bells and you never know when they might be needed as a crafting resource or for some kind of event but yes you don’t actually need to do any maintenance with them at all and they don’t need to be

Watered even once to fully grow so don’t bother number four creative Pitfall if you’ve ever been feeling really bored in Animal Crossing New Horizons and you just want to kind of mess around but you don’t have any Pits on hand you can Pitfall yourself all you need to do is

Dig a hole in in front of a chair that you can jump off of and your character will fall into a very deep hole I think this is really funny and it’s a nice little detail that they don’t just stop you from getting up you do actually fall

Into the hole it works the same as any other Pitfall does in Animal Crossing New Horizons you’ll need to shake around a little bit if you want to get out faster but your character will eventually get out themselves so if you want to trick your friends and dig holes

All around a chair maybe when they go idle for a moment or something like that this is something you can do to force them into getting Pitfall without falling for the little X on the ground number five starting villagers now a lot of people seem to know about this one

When the game came out but it seems like something that isn’t talked about nearly as much now it’s really interesting because every time you start Animal Crossing New Horizons your two starting villagers will always have the personality of jock and sisterly every single time without fail you can’t get

Different personalities when you start up the game which means you’re kind of limited to a certain pool of villages rather than having every single one be possible now personally I think this is a bit of a shame in Animal Crossing New Leaf you start off with a much wider

Variety of villagers but I guess the goal in this game is to kind of build yourself up more and more still there are a lot of really cool jock villagers and sisterly villagers to get so it’s fun seeing what combinations you can find when starting up your Island I

Wonder why they decided to do it like this I honestly don’t know but it is a fun little detail that I wanted to mention number six the dog housee now there are a lot of interactive items in Animal Crossing New Horizons and I really like this one now in theory it’s

Honestly really strange because why is there a dog house in Animal Crossing it makes no sense why they would have that when we literally have dog villagers who have their own houses but this is a pretty cool interactive item you can click on it and it will actually growl

As well as do this little red eye thing as well so in a sense it’s actually kind of creepy and it’s even more creepier given the fact that we do have dog villagers in the game but I guess there are also just pet dogs as well I honestly don’t

Know it’s incredibly strange animal crossing makes no sense sometimes number seven Cliff hop there is actually a way to jump off of cliffs in Animal Crossing New Horizons and it’s probably not in the way you expected now you can actually use a warp pipe to jump from a

Cliff onto the warp pipe and warp to a different area by pressing the a button Buton so technically you’re not jumping off the cliff cuz you’re kind of going straight into the war pipe but it does effectively work that way as far as I know there’s no other way to jump off of

A cliff you can of course jump from one little pillar to another if it’s you know one tile away but this is basically the only way that you can jump off into something else I really love the pipe feature I think it was so unexpected but

I’m really glad they added it because it feels like we’re always learning more things that you can do with it I’d love to hear any other ideas that you have for the pipe in the comment section down below number eight Airline dialogue now on your first day of Animal Crossing New

Horizons you will not be able to use the airport it is unavailable for us to use that means that Orville will actually have his own special dialogue for you only on this day you can only see this dialogue on your first day of gameplay which is really interesting to me

Because then it’s completely gone there’s no other time in the game that the airport is shut so it’s fascinating to me that this is the only time you can see it maybe in some kind of future event the airport will be closed but for now this is basically the only time you

Can see it I definitely miss a lot of things from the start of the game it really makes me want to go back and replay so maybe I’ll have to do that at some point number nine spring snow boy now if you still have a snow boy into

Spring when the snow finally melts they won’t be much too happy about this and you actually get some special dialogue from them about the springtime now it seems like they don’t mind the spring too much even though they know they’re about to die very soon which is kind of

Harrowing but they talk about the summer and how they really don’t like the idea of that I thought it was cool that Nintendo fought this through and decided yeah you know what we’re going to have some special dialogue for spring even though the snow boys literally can’t be

Around that long throughout this season because they’re going to melt very soon so it is cool to see how much special dialogue you can actually get in the game I feel like there’s just so much and I really love that about Animal Crossing New Horizons number 10 clothing dialogue now there

Are so many different outfits in Animal Crossing New Horizons that you can wear from the Able Sisters ones you can craft and lots of them come with different themes something that’s really interesting is you can get a ton of original dialogue depending on what outfit you wear for example if you wear

The mermaid outfit you’ll get special dialogue the pirate outfit the ballerina outfit you get special dialogue for so many outfits in the game so it’s always worth wearing something different and seeing what your villagers have to say about it I think this is actually so interesting that I’m tempted to make a

Video about lots and lots of different special dialogue you can get when wearing different outfits if you think that would be fun definitely leave a comment down below to let me know and I’ll consider making that video sometime soon roaming around the beaches of your Island sometimes you’re likely to run

Into a certain seagull who is washed up a Shore now I love guler and I think he’s one of the funniest characters in the game but maybe if you have a bit more disdain for him and him not waking up up for you when you go to talk for

Him there is actually another way that you can handle this if you hit guliver over the head with your net it will trigger the dialogue to get him to talk to you it’s not guaranteed to actually wake him up every single time but if for

Some reason you don’t want to talk to G and you want to just smack him over the head with a net it’ll work the exact same way and basically get him to eventually wake up it’s not the nicest way for guliver to have to wake up but

Perhaps if you don’t like this character so much this could be the method for you to get him up on his feet number two hidden dream feature this is a really cool and useful feature which was actually introduced in the 1.10 Animal Crossing update but Nintendo didn’t

Really make much fanfare about it at all for some reason this is honestly really cool and what it will do is when you’re visiting a Dream Island you can hit the minus button to quickly exit this may seem like a simple thing but it makes leaving Dream Island so much easier as

Previously you’d have to visit the bed and make your way back to the Plaza just to exit which was the same in Animal Crossing New Leaf as well surprisingly enough they’ve actually updated the dream site feature with some pretty cool quality of life changes this one as well

As allowing players to visit dream Islands randomly as well which is pretty great so maybe we’ll see even more improvements for this feature in the future number three The Great Escape if you visit the bug exhibit in the museum you may notice that the ants are actually escaping from their little

Enclosure which honestly makes my skin cruel I hate the idea of ants getting out and getting literally everywhere and just crawling wherever they want which is exactly what is happening in blabber’s museum I honestly doubt that he is too fond of this idea so definitely don’t let him know that it’s

Going on because I’m pretty sure he would freak out although speaking of blabber’s freak outs number four blabber’s bug reaction now this is probably one of the cutest interactions in the game and also one of the most sadistic you’ll probably know that blav absolutely hates bugs he is petrified of

Them and despite taking many bug donations in his time he still can’t get over his fear of them he is definitely afraid of them and this actually shows when you show off a bug right next to him he will start to have a mini freak out I honestly never ever thought to do

This before I didn’t even really realize that you could show off the bugs inside of buildings like this so the fact that you can do it and they made it so blabs Will kind of get scared when you put a bug to him is honestly ingenious and I

Really love this little detail now that I know about it sadly I’m sure after this video I’ve inspired tons of people to go and scare blabs so I’m sorry blabs number five Chrissy and Francine’s photos as you may know Chrissy and Francine are sisters and two bunny characters who are incredibly similar in

Their style they also have a big adoration for each other and tend to celebrate each other as much as they can and this shows by the fact that both Chrissy and Francine have pictures of each other in their own homes this is really interesting as I can’t think of

Any other animals in the game that do this I might be wrong though so if you can think of any other animals that have pictures of other animals within their home definitely let me know as I would love to hear I remember in the original Animal Crossing game some villagers

Actually had a picture of Tom Nook in their home as I guess some kind of weird little Shrine I just thought I’d mentioned that because it reminds me of that number six a special invitation if you’ve got any amiibo cards then this one is for you if you try and invite a

Villager who already lives on your Island to the campsite you’ll get a special interaction with them and some unique dialogue this interaction is honestly super funny as your villagers will want no part in camping on your Island when they can simply enjoy the island from the comfort of their own

Decided to do this for Nook cranny but not for Able Sisters as well especially since the shops do operate on Limited hours it wouldn’t make sense for them to do something like this for the museum but for the shopping areas I think they should all be the same maybe in a future

Sense kind of but you know oh well number 10 villager accessories some of our favorite villagers have accessories attached to them by default such as rod and Audie these characters have always been really interesting to me especially because in previous games these animals couldn’t actually wear accessories that were

Given to them by us so now that you can give them different accessories to wear sometimes this can reveal more of the character than we’ve ever seen before Rod is a really good example honestly looking super different without his trademark bandana on this can be revealed when giving him a different

Type of hat so the two won’t actually overlay this means that technically the accessories that they’re wearing are actually separate items that perhaps we could even obtain pain ourselves one day sadly this doesn’t work for characters with more drastic accessories like kid Kat you may have seen images of these
