Please let me know it’s 1st seed starting video I think I might seem all over, if so I’m sorry. Well guys I’m in Zone 8b Mission BC Canada, my last frost date is April 30, 2024. So did start some seeds early but some are the cool seeds.

Hey everybody it’s Denise from Le creativity shine so I’m going to do a quick video here today um I started my 2024 Garden like my starts inside indoors I started February 18th planted February 18th February 19th and then I think my last time I planted anything was February
25th so I’m going to show you this I got I took a whole bunch of pictures we’re in the basement Suite now we do have a long sidewalk the side of the house where we go down into the Bas and Suite cuz we’re act like we’re at least four five ft down we’re
Actually in a basement and um so so what what I’m doing is I’m going to do container garden so I’ve started some stuff I printed this off it’s a guide to companion planting and it’s actually not it’s actually really good um it tells you different plants I’m going to flip you around
It see there’s my there’s my I don’t know if you can see it I’ll I’ll switch you around so in this one it’s got as you can see cauliflower snow piece I read somewhere if you companion plant these together they’ll they’ll they’ll help I can’t remember what it brings to the
Soil off top my head but that’s why those that’s together I’ll probably TR I might transplant that I haven’t decided and then here these are the there’s the Cherry Tiny Tim tomatoes and then there’s these Tomatoes here rud rud ju so that here so I’ve got two of these this size
Of containers of uh green onions and they’re just starting to come out this one okay let’s try this again okay this is stuff we planted today these are the this is the Garlic from the Scarlet from and then in here we got the poppy um this is another flower this one
Here is a forget me kns I got three containers of um green onions that I started this is baby’s breath Shanta Daisy and then this is the uh Maro so hopefully this is a question mark Cuz I don’t remember what I put in there and then this is the uh storage red onions
So those aren’t even common yet and then in here this row here we got Dill um oregano parsley and cinnamon basil so the the herbs I want to try and keep them in their own containers this year if possible might put put some in with some of the Planters we’re making our own
Planters this year at the shop cuz we got extra wood so that’s that’s how it’s looking so far now my plant I’ve got it as you you’ll see here I’m keeping track of everything and then I’ve got I’ve got bags here this is the stuff that we’re going to plant direct seed so
It’s the Roma lettuce and mustard and then we got the beets carrots and radishes and then I still have to get broccoli and then so yeah so these are all the stuff this is the stuff that I just plant this is all the stuff that’s planted this is the stuff that to be
Planted and this is the extra extra seeds extra seeds to be planted and all plant so so that’s what we’re that’s how I’m doing it this year I’m keeping track right so I have an idea but yeah so that’s what I’m going to be doing
So wish me luck and then I’ll show you guys I’ll do a video show you guys where where it’s all going outside okay so here you see I planted these are um these are peas snow peas and cauliflower those were planted February 19th and then this is this is tomatoes
I’ll TR this so you guys can see try and get it so you guys can see the the uh so there’s the tag on it and then these are Tomatoes there’s the tiny Tims and then R rers I don’t know how to pronounce that those are tomatoes these
Are peppers just regular you know Peppers this is I have four things of red onions possibly four maybe three and then one I is uh I’m not sure um oh these four things are storage the Red Storage this is Forget Me Nots flowers okay so there’s the the
Onions okay and then up here I’ve got some flowers and then These Guys these guys here these ones I have four of these that have just green onions okay this is garlic and this one it’s garlic as you can see um so yeah so some of these were the
18th and 19th and then some is is after later like this is this poppy so some of the flowers are going to be in their own pots some of it I got some Mar Golds planted so here’s here’s basil this cinnamon basil B this cinnamon basil this is
Parsley right and these were on the 18th of February this is oregano right there that’s oregano and then this is a believe deal that’s my deal it’s going crazy and then this one here is the molds planted some Miracles and then these I believe these these three
Here these three pots here are more garlic okay now down here we have these this this here was planted on the 25th of February and we are the 2nd of March so it didn’t take long so I’ve got bush beans I roll that and then I’ve got cantelou I’ve got I
Believe believe I put two seeds in each there’s three spots here and then this one these are this row here this row here is pickling cukes I put two in each one this is um zucchini this row is zucchini and this is is the improved long cucumber and then this is Sweet Peas
So that is my indoor garden so far I’m going to switch you around now so here’s the window well you’ll see the rates there that’s the window well right that I leave that open this window the blinds up during the day and it seems to
Help and then at night when I get home like when I get home when it’s dark out then I’ll turn all I’m using is one of these lights all I’m using is one of these lights for the bottom and then just a regular light for the top and then if I
Have this the light in the room on that’s all what basically I’m just going with what I got might not be what everybody uses but like I’m impressed so the only things I got left to plant is some herbs that I still got to get and then stuff like radishes
Carrots and that that’ll be planted later when my my my son and I were going to make some planter boxes at the tire shop out of some of the wood that we got there so that I can have here where we got a spot to put them and then I want
To do some some planters some containers with Just Flowers in it and I have a couple ideas but there’s certain flowers I want to pick up I want a companion plant I’m going to make a list I also have so so you guys could see keeping I’m keeping
Track I’ll put it down I’m keeping track of everything and I’m planting only stuff that I know I’m going to use that we’re going to use so I’m hoping to to freeze some can some and pickle some so but that is what it is guys I’ll keep showing you guys
More and more every day I I try and record a little bit every day there’s probably going to be one big video to come out and then once I’m hoping to once the Planters get built I want to record it but I don’t know if my son will let me cuz he’s

Don’t have any of those there’s a few seeds I got to get so that I can make sure I get them planted so that when because there’s certain things you can plant if it gets cold they’ll be fine it’s the cold plants um I’m not an

Basement sweet anyhow so these are sweet peas I planted these on February 25th and we are March 3rd right now so these were also planted the 25th these are pickling cucumbers zucchini dark extra dark or whatever it’s called and then this is improved long cucumber okay and these were also planted
February 25th and today’s March the 3rd this are my snow peas and my cauliflower which were planted February 19th this is the cherry tomatoes and I don’t know how to pronounce that word r u t g e RS tomato but those were the 19th and then this here is my green
Peppers of the 25th okay now I have three containers that I planted of green onions those were the 18th of February and then I have forget me knots the 19th of February baby sft the 19th IIs the 19th and then this one here is the red poppy the
19th and then Shasta daisy the 19th and then this is the merry gos and those were planted the 18th these are Storage storage onions that were planted on the 18th let me see if there’s anything coming not yet oh no not yet so those are the 18th okay this this is
A I I I didn’t mark it right away so it’s a question mark but that was on the 19th and it’s coming out so I’m not 100% sure what that is if it’s a tomato or what okay and then here we have these were planted on the 25th my bush beans
Yellow and then cantaloupe so far I have one germinated okay and then these now these are my these these three here and these three here are my with my garlic I soaked those for a couple days two or three days these this is garlic from the
House from when you buy in the grocery store so we’ll see and then we have I’ll turn this so then you have basil cinnamon basil that’s cinnamon basil and that was February 18th I think the rest of these were all February 18th because uh the first things I planted yeah parsley there’s my
Parsley so uh oregano there’s my oregano it’s looking good this is Dill there’s also on the 18th that one there deal okay so that’s all the stuff I started between the 18th 19th and the 25th okay now this is the plant the soil I used I bought this last
Year it’s flour and vegetable soil natural and organic it’s so I’m using that I did use I did give the plants one thing of Miracle Grow um and then I also have this for later on okay so and you probably seen these I was trying something trying to do this use
It because I can’t afford to buy what I need so this is so far this is what I have I’m going to switch you around so yeah here it is it tells you for certain plants to plant with or Pest Control um soil care and then it g even has a chart that
Tells you all for all the plants what goes what goes with the plant like for example basil it planted with asparagus oregano pepper or tomato right and that tells you what’s not good so it’s a very good um this is from West Coast Seeds I think it’s Canadian in BC
I believe I if I’m not mistaken so what I’ve got on here is the start date days your germination that’s on your back of your package notice when it germinated how many days it took I have to fill some of this in yet and then when to plan hey everyone it’s Denise
Let your creativity shine I just wanted to jump on here cuz I’m adding this into the video I also used the farmers elac for for um BC and it’s based this for Mission BC it’s based on abbottford which is only like 20 25 minutes from Mission so usually our weather is pretty
Close so we’re in zone 8 B and also our last frost date is April 30th and then what I also wanted to say is the stuff that I planted um on February 18th were the Red Storage onions the green onions cinnamon basil oregano D parsley marigolds um that’s the Cracker Jack
Variation and then on the 19th it was the two kinds of tomatoes the Tiny Tim and the cherry tomato and then the uh I can’t pronounce the other one starts with an r and then the cauliflower Poppy the red poppy the Forget Me Nots IIs shasty Shasta daisy um baby baby’s
Breath and then I also planted some garlic on the 18th but or I started soaking it on the 18th and then I planted Sweet Peas the garlic was uh planted on the 20 I believe it was the 25th let me just double check my um my container because I got marked
Down the 18th but yeah the 25th because I soaked them on the 18th that’s right okay and then so for the 18th it was the sweet peas and um the other so on the 25th with zucchini pickling CES CES bush beans cantaloupe and peppers so I’m probably going to do a
Video when it comes to um the uh when I transplant the stuff that I I did my own little Cube things for the Potter I’m going to pot them in in pots a little bit smaller than the round ones I got on on the video this um guide to
Companion planting if you look online you can find all kinds of things um roots and refri um there she’s really good at letting you know what’s good to plant in the garden she’s been doing this for a while um I’m not perfect I’m not I’m not
A pro at this I’m learning as I go so but I’m trying to find things that help me be a better Gardener for what I want to grow and um I’m trying to grow stuff that we will use not just because I want to grow it right so Farmers Almanac is a
Good one to look for um it it’s across the world basically you can find out when you’re what zone you’re you are and here in Canada most of us I don’t know about BC but I know most Canadians wait till the week after the long weekend in May to plant because
Nine times out of 10 some areas will get snow prior to that so um I’m going to tough it up I’m going to probably plant my coal cool stuff outside so bras has like cauliflower and that so so yeah so there’s a few more things that I need to
Pick up and plant but as soon as I get the uh I’ll record me plant transplanting the other the stuff that I want to transplant and also Snow pees are a great source of nitrogen in your soil that’s the other thing that um um um this uh companion planting thing
It tells you what each things help how each one helps each other so I have to sit down and figure out how I’m going to cuz I think I’m going to have three Planters made my son and I are going to make them they’re going to be 2 and 1/2 ft in
Width I think we decid I don’t know if it’s a foot and a half or if it’s 2 feet and then length is 3 feet and then height is 3 feet that way it’s that I I don’t have to bend so much and then we’re going to
Try and make our own trellis for probably each one and there’s going to be a shelf on the bottom and then we’re going to probably see about how we can figure out how to I’ve got a whole bunch of these little tires and we might cut some in half and
Put them around to um for supplies to hold supplies and stuff but anyhow once we get to that you guys will I’ll try and record it I don’t know we’ll see what my son says but um so yeah so this first video I think what I’m going to do because I
Got all the pictures done right what I want to do in the I have canva you can get free canva free I think I got it in the description in most of my videos and I not sponsored I just put it in there um what I want to do is take say like
For February 18th I want to take the the above the overhead shot and then it is and then I want to do February 19th anytime I did uh pictures for to for updates and then that way you guys can kind of see how how it’s looking and like I said I’m not
Doing anything I haven’t gone out to buy anything special for for this it’s all stuff that I have here like the seeds I had from last year and I’m just using containers that I was given when I went to a garage sale lady she’s a gardener
Hands me this bag and says here take these okay um so yeah so that’s what I’m doing and um I have tomorrow and Monday off so I’m thinking of bringing in my my herbs and see if I can get those going inside I don’t know if that if I will be
Able to but the herbs that I have cuz I know I have I think I have garlic chives I should have chives I don’t remember if I took all of my stuff from the other place um there’s a couple things that died so I don’t know when I planted the one
Container cuz I had a variety of herbs if that might have been the problem it’s possible cuz you can only certain things can’t plant together as I’m finding out so but when I bring that in I’ll show you I’ll record and show you guys what I’m doing so probably tomorrow
If I bring them in Tuesday I can I can work on them so they can get used to the indoors right because they’ve been outside all this time and then um so probably tomorrow Monday I’ll do the uh replant the uh zucchini pickles cucumber um any on trying to see um sweet
Peas and then um what’s the other ones cantaloupe and um bush beans I see if I can rep pot those some of the stuff I won’t be able to repot yet but um but I’m also looking at this where the Sweet Peas I might have to um replant my um
Move them into a different pot because I think they’re not helping my um cauliflower they look like they’re they’re they’re going like they’re not looking really good unless I put cuz I did give them I have Miracle Grow so maybe that was too much I shouldn’t have done that
Cuz I didn’t put much in the water so maybe it was too soon cuz this soil is pretty good soil so so that is what we’re going to be doing so I wanted to just throw this in here um overall um as we go and I make up like when I do
The pictures what I’m going try and do is who is I want to pair up stuff so I know okay this stuff is going to be planted together and then this stuff is not going to be PL together but I’m hoping to have you all this stuff ready
So I can do a video with you guys so you guys can see how how I do it now like I said I’m not a pro this is all I’m learning as I go um there’s so many people that like I watch reach and refuge um what’s the other one oh
Um acre Homestead she does a lot of her she’s got a big Garden this year they’re in the new a new place and like and she does a lot of canning and all this stuff so that’s a good one I’ll put their in my in my description when I do this

Planting and see what how it helps the soil companion planting helps your you can put Plants together that help the soil some helped each other grow um and and then um they help nutrient put nutrients in the and protein in the soil or the vegetables some vegetables if you
Put together from what I’ve been reading also help each other um I don’t like that light they help each other um grow to grow Pro right so just all you got to do is just do your research that’s what I’m doing I’m not a professional I just want to have some
Fresh food that I can grow and have this summer and hopefully have enough that I can can and put away for the winter cuz it’s not going to get any cheaper you guys the the prices out there you know I’m just doing a backyard well it’s not even backyard
