First one tried to build with some store bought substrate/plants and some creek water and never did that well. Second one is from just scooping up mud from a creek. That one did a lot better until recently

Forgot to add, if it wasn’t obvious from the pics, that I haven’t seen any movement in there for about a month. I’d what happened recently but everything turned black until I opened them up for gas exchange. That cleared up the black but then things have gradually turned yellow. I still open them up most days for gas exchange but not sure if that’s helping much
Is it getting sunlight?
