Seriously will this work ? I poked holes in thick plastic nailed the edges down . My garden space is small and I work with what I have and little creativity.

I don’t see why not. Is that real grass?
A good breeze or wind will mess that up.
Plastic should be much longer so it can be weighted down with something long and heavy on all sides, like pipe.
