  1. Compost tea is absolutely great. However, beware of your dogs when using the tea. They may dig where you applied. I learned the hard way. May have to "fur baby" proof garden area😊

  2. Fetid swamp water, great stuff! I have two 5 gallon buckets over-wintered so It's definitely ready. It's a good idea in the Fall to brew some up for next Spring, especially when things haven't greened up yet.

  3. What bacteria are in the rotting vegetation? You pour this rotting bacteria laden liquid into your soil, is that safe for plants? What is the NPK levels?

  4. Do ya need to feed/keep feeding the bacteria? I have a bucket of rotting plant matter in water that I never added sugar to.

  5. Most excellent! These types of videos always hit the mark. Been listening since either 2019 or 2020, not sure how to know. THANKS.

  6. Brian its best to put it he weeds in s semi pumable bag then put in the water. This contains the weeds from the water you can empty in compost when done or dispose of them in green waste bin.😊

  7. I recently watched a video by another creator doing this.

My interest is piqued and I will definitely try it.

    Self sufficient Sunday? Yes, please.

  8. I found your Youtube channel right when the Covid lock-down started in 2020. Yes, I remember Self-sufficient Sundays, and I'm glad to hear you're bringing it back!

  9. Yes! Love Self-Sufficient Sunday! Also you better start making room on your wall for that 1 mil YT plaque! Any day now!

  10. How cool is this, you made so many good videos I have followed you since 2020 when I started my garden, you have a beautiful place now, by the way I’m also staring a new garden at no cost 🤞it goes well, thank you 😊

  11. My only issue with this one are my neighbours 😂.
Good video , I enjoyed this series. Happy to see self sufficient come back!

  12. This is in line with (KNF) Korean Natural Farming practices. They call this FPJ (fermented plant juice). If you ferment oregano scraps, the juice & oils from it is a natural insecticide. You can also mix this with & add your own homemade L.A.B. serum (lactic acid bacteria) for additional good microbes.
Check out KNF and JADAM natural farming practices. Very effective stuff.

  13. looking forward to self-sufficient Sunday. I don't make fertilizer out of my weeds. Great idea. I chop them up with my lawn mower and use them like a thin mulch. Also in spring when the maple seeds fall in garage gutter and it fills up with water from the rains it ferments also. I have 5gallon buckets by downspout when i unclog the mess and save that for dilution to put on my plants too. I know what you mean by such a putrid mess.😂

  14. Yay, to self-sufficient Sunday!

This may be a crazy question, but can you use ryegrass as a weed for the liquid compost?

  15. Have 5 acres of nettles and I curse them every time I go outside, now they will have a purpose other than making my feet and ankles sting for hours 😊
Looking forward to self sufficient Sundays!

  16. That's a good idea.. however those are not weeds, they are herbs.. wild lettuce for pain relief and dandelion for heart health.

  17. Awesome! So, do we just leave this in the bucket with the weeds in there too until we use all of it? How often should the plants be fertilized with the diluted fertilizer? Great info! Thanks!

  18. I"ve done this for a couple of years, just putting in leaves from tree trimmings, weeds from weeding, and any other greens that I pull from the garden. I find after 2 weeks of sitting in the sun it's ready (although, as you say, it smells HORRIBLE!) I don't dilute it, I just pour on the ground under my plants. The "aroma" goes away after an hour or two after pouring on the ground.

  19. I bet I pulled a 50 gallon barrel's worth of weeds today but I fed them to our pigs and goats, which they were Very happy about. Next time I weed I'll keep some to make fertilizer. I'm looking forward to some more Self Sufficient Sundays!

  20. I always used the weed and grass clipping tea within the good smelling time. Once it got rank, I thought it went bad and I chucked it out.
Looks like I wasted my weed water!
