I’ve been looking at some Lett uses this morning  you’ll seen them a few days ago we just multis   SEO lettuce seeds into little pots like this let  them grow into half decent sized plants then we   prick them out and move them on into their own  individual areas so then they grow quicker and

These ones looking quite healthy considering not  much anything else is doing anything at this time   of year so I’ve decided that I’m going to take  out some of these move them on into their own   cells and see if we can get a start on some onr  lettuce you’ve probably noticed that I’ve started

Putting on a few videos that shows you what I do  with produce whether it be a make a meal out of   it or whether I preserve it for later use which  I think is really useful for this channel just

In case you do get a glot of stuff when we get  to that point of year you’ll know exactly what   to do do with it so you don’t waste anything  so that’s why we’ve started popping on a few

Videos just to give people an idea in case you  don’t know what to do with them last thing we   need to be doing at this point is wasting food  so once again I’m going to be using some of that

Recycled compost we amended it quite recently by  adding some fertilizer to it so there’s plenty of   nutrition in this old stuff and that’ll just keep  us going until we get to the point of the Season

Where we start sewing lots and lots of seeds by  then we’ll have some fresh bags of compost ready   for that job but for the moment we’re sticking to  this stuff because there’s no artly we’ve already   got the compost we’ve already got the fertilizer  and we’ve grown as own little plants so it’s just

A case of moving things on we can get something  else underway I’m just going to pop them into   these little cells plenty big enough to grow  lettuces I’ve grown Lett uses in cells like   this before and I’ve just left them and they’ve  ended up being about 6 in tall and quite thick

As well there was basically the size of a very  small Roma lettuce so you could just chop those   off and pop them straight on a salad no need  to grow them any bigger if that size suits you so once I move them into  here we’ll just see how they get

On where edging ever closer to March now  everybody’s looking forward so much to new   growing season we get a lot of comments about  that it’s just around corner but as I always   say at this time of year don’t go mad sewing  loads and loads of seeds cuz that weather just

Turns sometimes without much of a warning either  just like the other day when we was told we were   going to get sleep and we ended up with a couple  of inches of snow instead so we’re still doing

The minimum of seed sewing at the moment still  enough to keep us going until we actually do get   to spring so taking the same size trays I’m just  compressing that compost down topping it back off

And then we’ll have a look at these seedlings and  see how many there is that we can actually use   from that tub before I put these seedlings in I’m  going to give this a bit of a water it just helps

When you come to put your seedlings in if that all  stay stay where you put it and doesn’t cave in and   if you put them into dry compost that’s usually  what happens so a nice watering is going to sort

That out we basically need to be just digging out  a few at this stage it’s probably better to take a clump you want to make sure we get some  of that root and I’m not bothered if we

Put a couple in each cell that’s got  plenty of roots on it I want to make   quite a big hole in that right to bottom of that cell so then we can get this pushed in  as deep as we need to don’t worry about

Those first sleaves either as long as  we get that plant in and get it upright   like that it’s on its way that easy  we’ve got one done I’m not bothered   how many we get out of here as long as we  get some just going to preate those hes as

Well I think six would be enough we’ll  just keep digging in and see what we get I’ll just take that out as one Bunch again we could just set separate them off into  single lettuces but I’m not too bothered about

Doing that because I’d rather do the cut  and come again rather than waiting for a   Heen lettuce that’s a nice Clump and we’ve  got a bit of red and a bit of green there as   well so that can all go straight in I’ll take  that little one away that’s not going to do

Anything just need to feed that root in while  keeping these clumped together like that it don’t matter how it looks initially  these plants will soon pick up we’ve got   a nice mix that’s nice and upright that  one but they’ve grown at different speeds

So this one’s a bit more stretched  but we’ve got tiny leaves at bottom   which will now start growing a little  bit quicker that’s all we’re bothered about so again we’ll find another clump just  try and ease them out if you only get a bit

Of root that’s fine that’s all you’re going  to need I’m going to separate all those off   there so we can still put them back together  if we want to but that’s a nice looking little   lettuce if you wanted to just plant that  on its own but we’re doing this bunching

Method so we get something like this and then just feed everything in and just pinch  it all together like that we don’t need to be   too fancy with any of this then we just go again  there’s some smaller stockier ones in Center so we

Can just pull a few of those out like that take  that entire Clump again put that in press them   Roots down and then Bunch it all together ever  like that quick and easy looks like we got a lot

Out there that’s not a problem we’ll just separate  that as we need to and again a nice little Bunch there a mixture of that red and green once  again nice little bit of variety there so   straighten and bunched together perfect and  this is probably his first lettuce at year

And it’s a bit cold and people probably don’t  care about lettuce at moment but we might as   well get something on go in preparation for that  new season see you there nice little Bunch once again so straight in pinch it together and  again that’s another nice little bunch of

Lettuce sorted out I think that is a really  nice Bunch right there and again loads of   roots so straight in press it down if you have  to press them down individually not a problem

Then pinch it together it you can see just how  easy this is to do just take your time with it   if it’s your first time doing it and everything  will be fine smaller Bunch there but still all

Right 12 cut and come again lettuces planted  in 10 minutes if that so another job well worth   doing on a Monday morning 12 individual sets of  lettuce ready to grow on I’ve notice this light   is a bit rubbish in here again it keeps looking  like it’s foggy but it’s actually not so there

We go brilliant we’ll keep those eye up on the  benches away from slugs because little plants   like that won’t last too few minutes and then  we’ll move on to anything else that we can sort   out over it next week but between now and then  if you’re not already subscribe to the channel

And you want to see what we’re going to be doing  through this coming season then please hit that   subscribe button press that notifications Bell  and I’ll see you at next update you all take care
