  1. Ok shuggie everything is looking good at your house Kaye love from a 71-year-old man in Boiling Spring Lakes North Carolina. Oh yeah, I ordered some seed from Hoss Three Hossinator tomato packs and a pack of sweet corn Kaye.

  2. Around your raised beds you could put chat which is crushed rock from a quarry. It won't wash away.. And it kind of locks together.. They also sell it in bags from home centers but it's more expensive that way. Hope you have a wonderful day and the deer leave you alone.😊

  3. I have three citrus trees in pots. I have a Meyer Lemon, a Satsuma Mandarin and a Minneola Tangelo. They are not producing fruit yet, but I am babying them💛❤️

  4. God bless you Kate! My late father planted white birch trees all along our driveway so that the trees provided a lovely canopy over it (driveway held 4 cars) blocking out most of the harsh summer sun. It was a perfect plan until…. the tree roots began tearing up our concrete driveway. Oh well, it was a nice idea until then. All trees removed, a new driveway poured… 😉

  5. Good Morning Kaye – Cats will be crazy cats. Homestead is going to have lots of pollinators for the gardens in addition all the beauty you will enjoy! Glad you found another helper as they are hard to find and keep. Sent you an email about garden soxx that I thought you might use in some areas. Hope you have a blessed week..

  6. Ohh how I love classical music!!! Kaye, please be very very careful who you hire to work on your property. Many of the illegal invaders are coming in and as a true crime buff I have seen countless times where they take on jobs and are there solely to scout out targets. You are a single lady and vulnerable IF you don't have a dog (warning) small dogs warn you so you can be ready. Also a weapon to defend yourself. A gun under your pillow on other side of bed is extra insurance. I have learned to not focus on the "pretty" with my property. I plant things that are perrinnials only because I am not getting any younger. There is a key word in self sustainable. SELF. No need to hire. If you have to hire you are not self sustainable. I do get what you are saying though. You just need to start thinking long term maintenance. Great video and relaxing. (for us anyway lol)

  9. Lenten rose (Hellebores) are highly toxic to humans and pets, and can also cause skin irritation……

  10. I love all your plant choices! I learned about the Lenten Roses a few years ago. My daughter and I went for a walk at the local arboretum, and they had some. They r3mind me of wood roses.

  11. All the leland cypress on our fence border planted by my neighbor are all now dying and falling onto my property after about 25years ..I recently discovered Camelias when I picked up free bagged 0ak leaves ,, Isn't it nice to have help ..I am grateful for all the flower plantings done years ago .

  12. I think you will enjoy the Lenten Rose ! I just recently found out about this plant this year myself.. The people I purchased local honey, ‘Blumenschein Apiaries’ Chester, IL. was showing me her flower bed a week ago and pointed this plant out to me. Very neat.. I believe it self seeds. The first flower in her garden blooming! And as it says, during lent pretty cool! Enjoyed the video!

  13. Fun planting projects. Looks like some good purchases. I haver several Lenten roses and love them as my first color. Nice and springy. Enjoy!
