Hey y’all welcome to the Mr Maple show I’m Matt and I’m Tim and today we’ve got the Everett Garden walkthrough Dan Everett he’s got an amazing Garden guys you’re going to want to see this video get excited yeah his email is always pruning and this guy is always pruning
There’s many meticulously shaped trees in this Garden from Maples to conifers there’s a labor of love in here we traveled here back in October with the North American Maple Society definitely check out the North American Maple Society to join and see Gardens like this with us in person so we kind of
Filmed this around the crowd so there’s a lot of people walking around this Garden en joying it and uh we wanted to kind of just give you a little bit of what we saw now this Garden is in Washington and this was filmed in October of 2023 Dan’s got many of trees
And containers but he’s got a gorgeous Garden as well it is the ultimate ultimate Garden for collectors of Japanese maples and conifers there’s so many cool conifers and Maples mixed throughout this Garden yeah there were a lot of interesting things uh Dan trades a lot of signs and um you know was just
Friends with a lot of people in the maple s so he has access to a lot of neat things great koi Garden back here as well this Koi pond really really pulled the backyard together it’s really nice addition and really no space left unturned I mean it’s not a massive yard
But Dan has kind of found a way to to pack every corner in with Max color and it’s got a lot of containers in here too which really add to the Japanese maples man I love the way he did the pruning on this Lac
Yeah this is shanty lce I did a top five with him you’ll have to watch their top five to see where that falls we actually walked around and talked about specific trees in his top five here in this garden and then Tim also did the top
Five conifers with him as well I mean everywhere we ran in this Garden it was just a lot of really fun and interesting conifers and Maples not your common Maples not your common conifers just a lot of things that really added a lot of color contrast and it was in Peak fall
Color when we visited here yeah outstanding Place really really just fun we kind of wait till some of the people stepped out of the way to have a drink or some coffee or something and jump through here we’re actually walking by uh some outstanding plants I mean I know
That one in the very back back there is a jedo orange there’s an incredible shishi Gasher right here we’re about to walk through I summon the ground again summon containers to kind of add some textures around as well and Dan is such a fun guy he loves plants he’s so
Passionate about them I mean every time we’re going around the gardens or or anywhere at the maple Society he’s pulling up photos of other Japanese maples in different Gardens or nurseries saying hey guys have you seen this yet hey guys have you seen this yet and uh definitely definitely such a he’s he’s
Such a cool guy to talk with and hang out with yeah you you feel his passion especially when you’re in his garden uh there’s so much going on here I could to spend a lot more time videoing this place cuz there’s just a ton and uh he
He’s a meticulous pruner as I mentioned so a lot of these lace leaves have had you know a good bit of work done to him Dan gets in there and really shapes everything to the Max I mean right here on the left is a giant makawi at abusa that he’s trained and shaped and so you see so many of those little toughs towards the edges but it’s a little more open up than mawi ataboy that you typically see and that’s the truth with
A lot of his lace leaves too he’s really opening them up so you can see the branch structure of each and every tree really relaxing time we enjoyed walking around through here uh some incredible plants in this Garden too there’s a few that we’ll highlight and
Then up coming top five or or if we’ve already shot it make sure to check that one out this one is one named by Bart I and this was in his garden this one was one called red sparkler so not out in the trade much yet we are producing it
Here at Mr Maple but red sparkler that’s one that’ll be showing up soon man that was a one of those trees that you see and you’re like that tree is pretty darn interesting you know we should be growing that here at Mr Maple this is in the front yard here
This is a little bit more of the Conifer beds he has in the Front so well laid out everything is meticulously maintained you won’t find any weeds I mean this is one of the most manicured Gardens I’ve ever SE seen again check out the pruning he does on these lace leaves I mean you can see the branch structure you still see the
Foliage but you can actually see all the Twist and curves on the trunks it just gives the Japanese maple a completely different aesthetic out there in the Garden I mean here I’m focusing on that tall Philip’s Golden Tears I believe or golden tear drops up there in the center uh so many cool plants here in this Garden but I really like that golden narrow weeping conifer in the Center really good use of sedums as well as darker colored mulches with grasses to create kind of a bed layout so he has very defined beds here uh the sedums you know of course are more of a spring interest plant but you can see how these
Are used to Accent the conifers kind of kind to create some of those low carpets just a really great well-laid out garden and uh you I hat I hated to even walk on this grass it was so wellmaintained Guys thanks for watching this one I hope you enjoyed a little look at Dan Everett’s Garden take care God bless and have a great Day

Good morning!
Thanks for sharing…fantastic! Very inspirational.
Dan has an outstanding garden🔥. There’s a lot of time and effort spent in every inch of that yard and very well thought out and that takes talent👌🏻. That Japanese maple Red Sparkler is hitting on all cylinders and the Japanese maple Sensu at the beginning around 53 seconds in the 4th maple from the right is gorgeous🔥. So much to learn from this garden for your own aspirations! Thank you MrMaple for sharing with us all. #japanesemaples #MapleMafia❤️🍁🔥!
Buen video
amazing garden and fantastic tour, thanks for sharing! Want to know what zone this garden in? you mentioned it is in Washington DC?
So outstanding!
merci beaucoup pour cette magnifique video ❣
STUNNING 😍!! Perfectly manicured!! What a dream garden! Thank you for sharing 😊🙏
That's not Chantilly Lace, Matt. That's a Baldsmith. 😉
I really like the garden tours. More please 😁
What a beautiful garden and an amazing Chief Joseph pine!!
would love to see you do a video on pruning with him
Just curious, I would like to plant a 'Dan Everts' in my backyard…how tall will he get? I'm hoping his pruning will complement the rest of my garden. Will Mr Maple be offering the 'Dan Everts' in 2024… I know I'd buy several. 👍
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing this walk through.
LOVE this garden! The dream garden! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I would like to learn to prune like that!
Thank you so much for highlighting this exquisite, charming garden! (Do you think the background music, esp. the early music with all the drums enhancing? Not IMHO.)
you called his Baldsmith Chantilly lace.. but I guess they are very similar. 🙂
Amazing!
I love the ¿hens and chicks? up under the lace leaf at 4:10. I did something something similar with my Pung kil, crimson queen , and amber ghost grouping. Ppl almost never think to use succulents, sedums, and perennial ground covers
This is one of the best gardens I’ve seen on YouTube the way it’s laid out and designed beautifully amazing
