Well welcome to Signature style Saturday Cupids and hearts are in the rear view mirror and now leprechauns and bunnies are heading our way today is very much a bunny inspired signature style Saturday starting with a really really cute I think anyway um baby shower gift that I

Put together we’re going to be talking about Easter Bunny and Easter Decor we’re going to answer some of your questions and talk a little bit about some life luxuries and well there’s a lot to talk about so what do you say do it let’s do it well this is so fun for

Me and it was so fun that I decided I really wanted to share it with you so one of the kids in my son’s carpool growing up my dear friend Ellen is having a baby she was in my son Johnny’s class she’s having her first born and

She’s having a shower this weekend so I wanted to put something together that was kind of special for her and so enter this sweet little diaper bag Ensemble and the things in it are all color coordinated I think they’re all absolutely adorable and can I say so

Many of these things are ingenious and weren’t around when my boys were little so one by one I thought I would just deconstruct my basket and kind of show you what’s inside because I really do think it’s very very sweet don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy so I really tried

To keep the colors gender neutral starting with oh my gosh look at this little this is so cute this is a little bunny burp pad and it is hugging this flower oops it’s hugging this flower here it’s got its hands wrapped around it but how cute is that is that just so

So so cute Stuart’s laughing but oh my gosh if if I weren’t too old i’ I’d be popping an egg myself because this is so so cute look at these little teething Rings now Leah told me that she has gotten these in the past for some of her

Friends who’ve had babies I love this color palette I like the fact that these are kind of eco-friendly and again they kind of match the vibe that I’ve got going a couple of rather unusual things that I’ve put in here because I’m just remembering back to how it was when I

Was doing laundry for my babies and some things that that are now available that I think would have been helpful back then these are dryer balls and you put these in the dryer to keep things fluffy you don’t have to use any of those fabric softener sheets and

I think they’re just fun I think especially when you’ve got baby clothes that kind of all stick together I think they would be really really valuable they come in a cute little bag like this and so I thought those might be handy then these oh my goodness I almost

I almost wish these came in adult versions okay look at these soft pliable washable little bibs that come with their own pocket I know aren’t those so cute to catch Cheerios to catch berries to catch well whatever it is that your kids are eating I think these are

Absolutely adorable and again they come in color coordinated color coordinated hues aren’t those cute and of course then they match this and and I just put these together they don’t come in a kit or whatever I just match the colors together and I think those are really

Really cute and then I also got some little some more burp claws these are all muslin and I think they’re very very cute you can stuff all of these in your diaper bag along with diapers of course do I have anything else out front oh I

Do want to show you look at this cute invitation I’ll hide but isn’t isn’t that darling it’s all um Winnie the Pooh inspired which just makes my heart Putter and then lastly I think this might be the most important and maybe um I don’t know most special component and

That is you guys know how I like these oneline a day journals we all think that we are going to be super moms and we’re all going to keep baby books on our kids and then sometimes life just intervenes and you’re so busy just trying to figure

Out how to go to the bathroom take a shower and wash your hair that you don’t have time to record every single thing but you might have time to record one line a day when the baby was able to sleep at least halfway through the night um you know all those little tiny

Milestones that wouldn’t take up a lot of territory in a baby book but you can also just put that one line of day really really special threshold Milestone whatever in this little oneline a day book even maybe as it relates to you personally and not so

Much your baby so I think those are kind of fun um I love these Brands by the way the bag is cool the bag is fun and it is by a company called Parker baby yes they do sell on Amazon but one thing I do like is to support family businesses

That do sell on Amazon as a platform we are truly a family business it talks a lot about um about the business itself eco-friendly and I think it’s just very very very dear so there you go a bunny inspired baby shower gift that you might want to tailor to someone that you know

Is having a special one Soon well prob probably one of life’s ultimate luxuries is a really good chocolate chip cookie and I promise you this recipe from my BFF Deborah is the best chocolate chip recipe ever it’s based on an old Betty Crocker 1969 1970 cookbook I made them the other day and

You guys will test they’re pretty incredible um you do have to partake sparingly however because they they are calorie dense and pretty addictive but the secret to them is my first little life luxury Deborah told me about this and it is Malon flake salt and you can

See just how beautiful and Flaky it is I bought mine off of Amazon you can probably find it different places but the salt is so delicate and the trick is to just sprinkle it on top of the chocolate chip cookies just before they’re baked and I really think it

Makes all of the difference consequently I thought it made so much much difference in those cookies what difference could it make in other things that I might make and so I am now going to have it next to my regular salt and pepper as another um oh kind of a daily

Life luxury okay my husband i’ I’ve never seen him so happy for me to get something in my life so for Christmas I wanted a new pair of tennis shoes and my son Jamie and my daughter-in-law Taylor they got me a pair of tennis shoes and they were great except that they didn’t

Fit so they returned them and they bought me a new pair and the new pair is one of the most luxurious things in my life right now and why my husband is so happy is because he has been trying for trying to get me to buy myself a pair of

These for a long time and these are Hoka tennis shoes he has raved and raved about them they absolutely are the best tennis shoes most comfortable I have ever worn and they well I just can’t speak highly enough of them we’ll put a link below to to all of these things in

Fact now that I’ve got some of my own you pay attention to these kind of things and there was an article recently I think it was in InStyle magazine they were listed as one of the best kinds of walking shoes if you’re going to take a walking stroll through Europe this year

Then they highly recommended them and I highly recommended them recommend them for the walking life walking in the neighborhood on your treadmill wherever and they they’re kind of that ugly cute that’s so fashionable right now that kind of clunky ugly cute um which is good because they are so comfortable

I’ll wear them with slacks I’ll wear them with dresses I’ll wear them with whatever when I am engaging in my own walking life okay this is a really fun thing this is this is probably something I get so excited about is when you spy something at a really expensive store

And you think of a hack of a way that you can recreate it yourself for half the price and there are a couple of stores on Broadway near me that I walk to occasionally that are high-end and they just have just quintessentially really good taste and very beautifully

Curated inventory so I saw this and I thought oh wait I think I can do this myself so what am I talking about you say I love love love love this arrangement for flowers and they had this composition put together sold as a set and it was very very expensive and

What it is is just a h square basket on feet with a form fitting vase clear glass vase in um inserted into the opening so I thought to myself wait I have a vase just like this that I got at a thrift store for pennies and you can

You can find them all of the time almost every time you can find them tall you can find them short it doesn’t really matter but I just love the fact that it elevates this and I also love the fact that this Rattan or bamboo whatever it

Is tray that I found to set this vase in already coordinated with lots of these different baskets whatever this specific weave is that I got when I was in Vol I have a number of different pieces that match this so I just searched online and lo and behold I took measurements and I

Was able to find a square one that fit this vase exactly for a fraction of the price of the composition that I saw in the very high-end store so that’s just an idea of a way that you can you know you can kind of reinvent something with

Something that you already have this may not flip your switch like it flipped mine but I absolutely love it and I also love the fact that it coordinates with things that I already have so there’s just a just a little Trio of Life luxuries that I think are really really

Nice practical um not too expensive but very lifechanging well you guys make sure to put in the comments below what you are watching what you’re listening to what you’re reading I for one watched a really wonderful Show on Netflix it was called tea with the Dames and it was

Four actresses who had been designated as Dames by the monarchy and it had Maggie Smith Judy DCH a couple of others anyhow it was very very fun to get their perspective on the past on women in in the movies right now at their age it was

Just very very fun and just just I don’t know I felt like I was kind of hanging out with them you might enoy enjoy that too one account that I have followed Forever on Instagram I just loved it is it’s an account Down Under And it is one

That in some ways I’m kind of modeling my backyard after and if you are interested in it I definitely encourage you to check it out it’s called Harold’s finishing touches it is uh they both have a store and a home though their home is not open to the public but just

Wonderful wonderful composition wonderful products wonderful use of color and they have a rather confined space in the backyard where they have raised beds they have different Garden rooms and things and I think you will definitely definitely enjoy it um let’s see what am I reading I am reading um

Some fiction I’m reading Tom Lake by Anne patchet um I continue to read on a couple of other non-fiction books that I’ve had for a while I kind of just dally in them I picked them up and put them back down um Leah you were recommending a book what was it well I

Was telling Stuart to read the over story which is my favorite the over story I think we have already recommended that in the past um but I I for one am running out of reading weather because as soon as it gets to be gardening season I start concentrating

On that kind of thing and not so much um on my book list but definitely while I still have some weeks left please give me your recommendations below just some things for you guys um for you guys to check out if you are wanting um to pass your time this

Winter well if a green cuddly bunny was my inspiration for the baby package that I put together for our baby shower coming up then this chocolate bunny holding silver eggs is my inspiration for the upand coming Easter brunch that I will be sharing with some good friends

Of mine on March 31st and why am I doing it so early because March 31st is an Easter that’s a little bit early this year I think I am hoping that unlike some years the Tulips will still be in bloom everything the spring show will be

In its F in its full glory and there’ll be lots of uh well lots of places to take gorgeous Easter Bunny Easter basket pictures okay so how did this all come about well I think probably the starting point was when I discovered these wonderful ceramic Easter Bunnies I got

These at TJ Maxx I’ll try to put a link below I’m not sure if I can or not but I have always loved chocolate really large chocolate bunnies I think based on something that Martha Stewart did one year but I just love the fact that they look like chocolate they feel like

Chocolate um and I just think that they they sent a wonderful Easter message for the Tableau I wanted to create which is if you have haven’t already detected it all in shades of blue and yellow one of my favorite uh combos out in the garden kind of lavender blue with chartreuse

And this year it is going to be what I use for my Easter table so let’s rewind a little bit and I think I I perhaps disingenuously told you that I was going to do some Easter baskets and that I was going to or some Valentine baskets that

I was going to paint in different shades of blue and I was going to gift them for Valentine’s Day well at about that same time I discovered these little Easter bunnies and I decided to reserve those baskets for Easter instead of Valentine now as you may recall Leah helped me

Spray paint them we use these two shades of Rustoleum one is wildf flower blue and the other was French blue and those are the colors that we use to spray paint these little baskets that I found at a thrift store I think they were like

50 cents I have more of them um and then I also had this gathering basket Tru which was actually a sample they sent me for something that we were working on for a QVC line and we painted that one and then one thing led to another and it

Became just a blue and yellow set of dominoes so I’m having so much fun using my new blue Spode China and and then I discovered these sweet sweet little porcelain plates by a company called Brock it’s a small company and yet I found them online and I think they are

Just a wonderful Counterpoint to the blue SPO and then even though I’m kind of tearing at my display here look at these sweet little ceramic bunnies that are place called holders well I’m just doing it all over I’m just doing it all over the place so reminds me of an

Episode I did on Channel 4 Once where the the whole thing uh capsized right before we went on air but I think you get the point so these little porcelain bunnies I found these uh for they were 9 cents a piece I think I found these thrifted and I think they’re absolutely

Adorable and and then the blue and the yellow is also going to be um it’s going to inspire the flowers that I decide to use on my Easter table so these little wax flowers that I stole from a uh a Valentine’s Day arrangement I think these will be very very sweet and then

Depending on what is In Bloom and what I can find at the florist I’ll be using shades of yellow and blue I love the fact that I can go outside and I can cut some really beautiful branches from my Miss lemon abilia which will kind of

Give my floral Scapes I think that kind of gardening vibe that I like so much less FTD more more Garden inspired just in time for this video I had one sweet little grape pin In Bloom outside I will definitely note that in my garden journal and I just love this shade of

Blue sometimes you can find these either forced in pots or sometimes even as a cut flour maybe just some regular Hy asent I also love the way sweet little um Ted AET or Jetfire daffodils look in tiny little pots I often have forced those myself but right now you can

Typically find those at Trader Joe’s or you can find them at a nursery and I think that’s really really sweet so what I’m hoping to encourage you with this thinking about it early is that you can come you can kind of get one point of inspiration and then shop your home for

Things that will coordinate with it so for example I had these baskets down in my basement and we transformed formed them into what will be little Easter baskets for some of my little and best friends so I’ll probably put some kind of Rapier or some kind of Easter grass

In here and then I’ll get a real chocolate bunny I will put them in place and then I’ll get some of the cadburry eggs some color coordinated jelly beans chocolates um chocolate eggs things like that that all coordinate with my color theme I also found I I haven’t used

These in a while but I got these a million years ago I don’t even remember where right now I am using them as pedestals for oh maybe some deved eggs that I will serve at my brunch I’m not really sure how they will be pressed into service but what these are what

These pedestals are are actually their taper candle holders and I just turned them upside down I’ve got some asparagus here which is ever so eastery and typically I have roasted asparagus on my menu I’ve also got a cabbage there and then I can just take some florist clay

Or some florist wax or something and I can secure whatever um type of plate tray Bowl whatever I’m going to be serving from I can secure that to this and it gives some varying stages of height in putting together this display um I’ll already be looking at um what

Kind of glass wear that I want to use I got these thrifted Stuart you might remember that one year we thrifted the entire Easter table um here’s another little basket that we painted if you are going to use maybe a bird theme perhaps a robin’s egg theme and baskets for your

Inspiration point then you might start looking for little birds nests either that have been abandoned or that um I don’t know this one was gifted to to me by a friend that you have and then embellish them with little eggs either edible or not um we are going to be

Convening and having a little Easter Egg party with some of my little friends where we are going to dye Easter eggs with all natural ingredients maybe onion skins maybe blueberries not really sure right now but you get the color palette in yellow and in blue and I think it’s

All going to be really really fun um and the rest of it I think will just kind of come to fruition as the day approaches I do like this all of these clean colors on a white background so I will be using a white tablecloth I’m not sure whether

We’ll be dining inside or we’ll be dining outside that remains to be seen how the table will be positioned how many people will come I’m not really sure but I feel confident that I will have have my tablescape uh designed uh covered and created in advance for when the big day

Comes another fun thing that I want to share with you it’s really entertaining now when you go to the grocery store to look for any kind of garden inspired Edibles these fun little carrots um sometimes brussels sprouts can stand in for a little cabbages little um heads of

Lettuce to see how you might kind of put a Beatrix Potter oh kind of vibe in whatever it is you’re putting together but these are going to be transformed into some delicious honey Harissa carrots I’m going to be sharing that recipe with you guys if you want

The recipe too then make sure to sign up for my newsletter and we will get that to you but I think they’re going to be beautiful on the table because they in and of themselves look like edible Decor so I hope that gives you guys some ideas

Of how you might use your own Treasures your own thrifted finds and a personalized color palette of your own to create your Easter brunch tablescape now a lot of this was thrifted a lot of it was shopped from my basement but for some of the other

Things I have put in the description box below as many links as I could possibly find in addition to some of my candy sources some of my napkin sources things like that that I too will be referring to before Easter gets here so there you go just look in the description box Below

  1. I loved that show Tea with the Dames. Tom Lake is on my hold at Library, and have gone back to Steve Berry to read a couple of his books I somehow missed and am on hold for his new book. Also eager to get some primrose and pansies to plant up on my patio. It is still very cold here in Western Oregon especially at night so not buying much at garden center for another 2-3 weeks. It is hard😏 Trader Joe's is on my list this week so that is always so fun🌷

  2. Very tasteful and inspiring as usual. 😍👏😍 In Austria, we have Easter trees , inside and outside. So much fun to create Easter vibes. Thank you for sharing your great ideas .🌻🌻😊

I listened to the audio book loved it her voice is so soothing and she sings which is a plus plus I’m on my third round listening she is wonderful I like her more than I did before my listen ❤

  8. Linda, I was hoping you would share the chocolate chip cookie recipe. I can’t wait to make them. I also have been using Maldon Sea Salt Flakes, it’s the best! Thank you and your friend for sharing the recipe!

  9. I have a pair of Hokas and practically live in them. However, you need to be aware they are noted for being a tripping hazard and they take some getting used to when you start wearing them. Once you're used to them, there's no turning back (for me)!

  10. As a retired pediatrician and a mother of three I love to fill handy totes with fun and practical gifts for parents to be. One practical item is always the most recent American Academy of Pediatrics book " Caring for Your Baby and Young Child – Birth to Age Five", written by pediatricians for parents. The second is a zippered lingerie bag, not for lingerie, but to keep tiny baby socks and other easy to lose small baby items together in the washing machine. I was FOREVER losing baby socks when my girls were tiny!

  11. I highly recommend The Map of Salt and Stars by Jennifer Zeynab Joukhadar. It's beautiful and heartbreaking. It's one of the best books I've read this year.

  12. You can order HOKA shoes at Winged foot running & walking…my son sells in store or online…from Monroe,Ga!
I live here in Oklahoma…my HOKA tennis shoes helped me on last trip in NYC😊

  13. I've been watching the New Look on Apple TV. The story about how Christian Dior and Coco Chanel's lives were affected by events during WWII.

  14. WHAT? No cookie recipe? Thanks Lind for another great video. It will be fun seeing your garden bloom. So many books to share, What an Owl Knows, Blue Mountain by John Grisham, The First Ladies, The Women by Kristen Hannah, The Covenant of Water . You choose. Happy Spring

  15. Any chance you can share the chocolate chip cookie recipe? Love your show and looks so forward to each of them. Thanks
