So my first jar went south, all the plants and bugs dies and only a few snails and flatworms remained, so I took it back to the river and dumped it out to start over.

For my second attempt, I’ve tried to get some plants with the roots and made sure they were in the soil, and some more duckweed. A couple of snails and a whole lot of those little wiggle worms have appeared. There’s also a few tiny bugs running around on the surface, but I can’t tell what they are.

I collected all this on Saturday, and today all the plants are still green and not wilting, which is wonderful. I’m especially happy with the tall one in the middle. It’s already doing a lot better than my previous one.

I am currently keeping it outside in an area that gets lots of indirect sunlight and stays cool. When it gets hot I’ll probably move it inside, as I’m in the east valley in Arizona.
