Hey y’all it’s Renee from 9V Florida Panhandle and today I am going to the grocery store to do my weekly trip but there’s a few garden supplies that I’ll need for the yard so I’m at my local grocery store and they have a lot of the seed um
Preparation materials out not too many flowers just some zenas and some sunflowers but if you’re looking to get your veggie garden off and running this would be a great time to go do that they had seed trays they had the seedling soil mix starter and of course they had all of the seed
Varieties um I did see some English lavender lavender does not do great for me here in Florida it may have to do with my irrigation system because I know they do not like to have a lot of water um but I’m pretty much given up on trying to
Grow that unless I’m going to grow it in a terra cotta pot um other types of herbs do great here however and they did have quite a few uh herbs that you could go ahead and get started my trip here was actually twofold um I needed some new Garden watering w
And then I also need a uh my Chamilia row at the back of my property I’m concerned that my irrigation isn’t getting to it properly so I am going to put a soaker hose back there just to hedge my bets I don’t really want to lose any of the ones that I’ve recently
Put in but my gosh it has been very cold and I don’t feel like trying to drag a hose back there right now especially with my knees the way it is so I’m going to go ahead and do that and I found one but then I got very distracted by the
Dalas uh so I was looking through those bags to see if it was a good bet this one has a nice green shoot in it I can see so I know that at least that one’s viable uh and as you’re going to see before I leave here today I couldn’t

Out or some stems coming out of them so that tells me that at least some of the eyes are good on them and I did buy some from Lowe’s that well made it through the summer and didn’t rot in the ground and so I actually dug them up when I
Knew we were getting to the 20s because I was really worried about them and I put them in some pots with some soil mix and Peete moss and uh I have those in the garage right now but what I’m going to do today is I’m going to open up the
Bag so you can see what you might be getting if you get them from a grocery store uh so let’s go ahead and do that all right so actually before we do that I do have to uh get some soil in some pots cuz I’m going to keep them in my
Garage where it’s more temperature controlled and um keep them there until probably the springtime um probably I’m thinking like beginning of March I don’t think I’ll have to worry about any um cold freezes damaging them so let me go ahead and get that soil going says I
Think there might be five in there but I’d be thrilled if there’s just like two viable ones I mean it was a good deal it was like 11 or 12 bucks um and uh we’re going to get take care of that For All right so it is super windy today um we’re going to have to uh hopefully my microphone is working well so these say five bulbs just a decorator mix um and like I said the ones I got from Lowe’s that were live plants I got on half off um were wonderful so let’s
See how these are I did pick up several named varieties from from uh Al Low’s uh and again I saw some really good things with them oh my gosh there is a precious little bird right here I don’t know if I can get you to see it but I’m going to
Try oh oh oh my goodness um and those had a name to but these just say mix so we’re going to see how these look it’s quite a heavy bag all right I am looking to make sure that these are all connected and see I was seeing stuff like
This isn’t that amazing love it love it um so I’m going to put these very gently ly these probably little ones won’t grow for you um but yeah let’s move these very gently separate separate oh yeah wow oh oh so there’s more there you can see that so that’s
Two and then there’s a big one here oh my gosh okay ah here we go bend it down so here’s another one this one had a nice big uh stem on it so that’s three and then this would be number four and it’s got some good uh growth on it
Too uh so that’s four and then maybe these would be a fifth one these kind of all fell apart this one still is kind of together a little bit but I’m not sure what’s going to go on with that I might just Chuck these in a pot and we’ll see
If something magical happens but probably nothing will happen from these uh but you know it never hurts to try if you got a little extra soil on the side so I would say four viable ones which is really cool um okay so now I’m going to
Go ahead and we are going to pot these up I hope you fit oh my gosh oh my gosh I’m going to have to get a bigger pot for that one wow I think this one will be fine in here okay I’ll probably go ahead and water these
In just once lightly and then set them and maybe just check on them periodically just to make sure they’re damp we don’t want those little bulbs to dry out completely And we live in a Zone 9B which technically they should be okay in the soil um uh over the winter but I didn’t want to take any chances so I did dig mine up but I think these will be just fine in my garage I mean there’s definitely something
Going on with this one I don’t know if you can see that right there or not may as well turn him the right way while I’m at It so now I have to get a bigger pot all right back again up perfect fit perfect All right so job done I’m going to go ahead and put these in my garage and keep them there just maybe about another month and a half and then we’ll put them out in the Garden all right so here’s some of the ones I picked up from Lowe’s they were three packs this one’s pretty Loosey I think this one is lavender Perfection and let’s see it’s the other one called motto is what I wrote down so I didn’t keep the little
Uh I didn’t keep the little pictures they were all Pretty Pinks and oranges so uh here is my Dalia collection they will be going out in the landscape in the springtime I think um the ones I just planted today one two 3 three four five uh there was enough moisture I
Could tell in the soil from being outside that I’m not going to water them today but I’m going to let them dry out a bit and then add just a little bit of water um all right that’s going to be a wrap for today in front of my cardboard
