Not unless you want to. Do you want to? Doesn’t look like it’s destroying the water. Some dead plants add tannins to water which isn’t bad either as far as I’m aware. tannins can make the water brown and some people do it on purpose especially in Betta tanks. I’m sure certain plants are bad though. Also depending on how old it is, if it is toxic the toxins may have leached out already before you got it, maybe? Not sure about toxic plants in water tbh just guessing on that. You might know some of or everything that I said, I’m just talking.

There’s no reason to remove it other than preference. I personally like a stick in there, because that’s where most critters buzz around.
