Roots and Refuge Farm: Goatie Girl Planning (The farm is WET) | VLOG

Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.

There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

  1. This camera is ok, The other is better. The volume on the bigger camera is much better. It's an even volume. The one who holds the smaller camera is heard better. I find it hard to hear anyone who is not holding the camera or turn their head away from the camera. Especially sweet little Ben's voice. I did notice that I didn't see the fuzzy mic on your clothes today. Much of what he said especially at the beginning of the video I missed. Thanks for sharing with us Jess!

  2. Jess…I can tell you from watching Sandi that sheep don't require as much attention during delivery as goats do. They are pretty much self sufficient. You might need a long glove & a bucket of warm water nearby to bring up the body temp of the new lamb in an emergency.

  3. I think that Ben needs to hold the camera more often, it was so cute "The camera leads the way"

  4. You'd fit right in here just south of Seattle. Plaid is an important part of one's wardrobe, especially outdoors people and high schoolers. Your usual torn jeans would also be the appropriate pants, but shorts work well with plaid also. Don't see grunge these days. Come on out for a cup of coffee. 😊

  5. I raised sheep for many years, you can’t go wrong watching Sandy Brock she does a great job. She is kind with her animals just like you are with yours. I so enjoy watching her as I do your shows

  6. I'm excited for this kind of full-circle moment with your anticipated goats – and creamy coffee! I fondly remember discovering your channel way back when, and I always thought your goats were my then newborn crying. 😂 I'm so glad you now have a proactive approach to your health. And those dang migraines. I, too, suffer. Mine definitely correlates with my hormones as well as drops in the barometric pressure. I wonder why some people are more sensitive than others? Gabriel, Bear, and Ben sure are cute!

  7. I watch Sandi Brock with Sheepishly Me and her videos should really help you. She explains a lot about medicating her sheep and all the problems that go with it. She delivers a lot of lambs because of the problems that go along with sheep.
Wow Jess, your hair is curly in this video. I like it! What kind of Goats are you looking for? I must tell you that I love your laugh!!! Blessings

  8. This new camera really gives a reality tv vibe wow.. the difference is stark! It seems like your face has changed but I know it’s just the camera. Wild. Love ya girly thanks for the videos ❤

  9. Glad to hear you watched some of Sandi Brock videos – She has tons of content showing all kinds of lambing – she shares so many emergency births and some procedures and tools to save most of them – she also shares the heartbreak of loss.

  10. It's funny when one of your favorite youtubers finds another one of your other favorite youtubers. Sandi Brock is awesome.
