Transform Your Saw’s Performance with Proper Tooth Maintenance. JP’s 12 days of Christmas Tips.

The teeth on my Japanese Pull Saw and my Veritas Dovetail Saw are all clogged with glue. Can I clean my teeth with Acetone to get nice clean teeth?

Hi guys welcome back to my 12 tips I’ve got two almost brand new saws here and I’ve managed to get them caked in glue whilst flush trimming and it’s really annoying because as I said they’re almost brand new sauce still got lovely sharp teeth on them so I’m going

To try and clean them I’ve been messing around for ages to scratch it off and peel it off and I think I might have found something courtesy of my wife’s makeup bag that might clean them off now you probably won’t believe this but because my wife has got into her gel nails and

You need acetone to remove the nail varnish my job this is some aceton so I’m going to try and see whether that will clear off this Gunk on the blade look plastic potty tip for the ladies as well buy an acetone from the DIY shop and not the phaces cuz it’s about a

Quarter of the price make up and beauty tips from the small band Workshop know we I can put this on with my oh look at that it’s coming off can you see that if anybody saw my video that I made about a year ago actually maybe two years ago about

Making a gun stock shoulder I use this saw to cut off the wedges and it’s been caked in glue ever since I put it down after filming can actually see the glue in there actually can see the glue in the thing let’s put the

On Rescue them let’s give it a bit of a let’s give it a little S oh it’s definitely coming off look a bit especially this one this is a really nice very Tas Dove Tails so want to not have this one actually peeling off the glue look look at that I’m really happy with that could just do with a bigger container soak

Here there we go got a B silver file make little trivet there you go you didn’t expect cooking Beauty and woodworking tips in one short video did you I’ve got a leak p smells good I is when I used to be a was Apprentice Joiner shop they used to have

A huge 10 by five press for laminating and they used to send us in this room a pair of us with a can of Evo stick and we used to have to laminate 84 sheets up with plastic laminate and put them in the Press then do another one lower the

Press down put that on the press and we were i k by lunch time that’s not a product I see a lot around now Evo s it’s still actually contact it still exists I’ve KN that you can see it coming off fact if I just left that to

Soak for half an hour it probably come off but I’m trying to do it quickly for the sake of our little video that’s totally off can’t blame anyone but me for the uh Gunk up teeth I’m afraid it was all my fault poor maintenance bad tool management get gunk on you tool and

Put it aside I’ll tell you how long it took me to do this when uh I edit it beautiful right that one’s done there a bit there that’s out there’s a bit there and there’s a bit there get them off oh that’s coming off I’m really happy I’ve done that I’ll put

  1. Acetone does work – best way I've found is to put the blades in a shallow tray of acetone (with a cover over it) and let it soak for a few hours to soften it up – then brush/pick off the soft glue.

  2. LOl when you said the "smell of this reminds me of" I instantly thought glue sniffer and I was right πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Great series Thanks
