Today I wanted to create more of a relaxed video and I wanted to share with you my plans for the garden I’m going to be planting a sby in a whole bunch of areas in my garden but right now I don’t have anything to show you and our garden

Is sort of young I just finished preparing a lot of the beds for planting they are finally ready to be planted it took me several years to get to this point because I did it all using loppers pruners and a shovel Excavating a whole bunch of trees Thorn bushes and all

Sorts of things from those areas to create our flower beds and finally I’m at the point where I can start planting my garden so this is super fun for me and today I wanted to share with you a little bit about atil be and my plans

For it in the garden so first things first let’s talk a little bit about a still be and because I don’t have anything to show you I decided to go ahead and ask AI to generate some pictures for me to kind of give you an

Idea of what a still will look like in the garden garden and also give me some ideas on placement in the garden now I have some ideas in my head and I think they would look absolutely beautiful but just getting some ideas from some other places or some other people or maybe AI

Will help me to kind of be more creative in the garden and apply that plant in a better way so as I talk I’m going to display those pictures for you so you can enjoy the views and not just sit here and stare at me this whole time

Because that would be boring if you haven’t seen a still be before it is a beautiful shade loving plant it has these beautiful long plumes they sort of look like feathers and they come in different varieties of colors whites pinks purples and I think even yellows

I’m not sure about that but I think I think they do come in yellows as well and their foliage also comes in many different colors one of the varieties that I would love to have is an a still be with purple foliage but I’m going to wait on that because I’m actually going

To to be starting my estb from seed because that’s economical way to do it when I’m going to be adding tons of plants to my garden and I love perennials because they just you plant them and they stay there I have some places that I want to save for annuals

But for most of the perennials that I’m going to be putting in the garden they are going to be started from seed just to save a little bit on the budget and then after my garden is established and I have a lot of plants in there then

Maybe changing one plant here one plant there into the type types of plants that I want and I desire to have in my garden by purchasing them from well-known sources like for example Proven Winners I love their plants but if I were to buy all the plants we would be broke so

That’s why I’m starting a whole lot of perennials from seeds and a still be is going to be one of those plants that I’m going to to be starting from seed so as I have said atil be is a shade loving loving plant it can tolerate some sun

But it it prefers to be in the shade the location that I’m going to be planting in the garden one of them is going to be in The Cottage Garden and I want to surround the bird bath in The Cottage Garden with a still be as you have seen

In the thumbnail picture and this is actually a picture that I also asked AI to generate and it generated it beautifully and now I want that Fountain because I don’t have it or that bird breath but hm I can’t so I will be satisfied with I with what I have

Another place that I’m going to be placing the sby is a shade location or I think it also has some dappled sun in it and that’s going to be in my shade garden that I created this past season and I think I planted a lilac there as

Well and the Lilac does receive sun and that’s why I’m kind of thinking that’s probably a dappled shade location and I want to fill that whole area with a whole and create sort of river of atil be in that location and I think when you

Plant atil be in big clumps or any plant it’s going to create a big impact in your garden it might be surprising to you it was surprising to me to know that atil comes from these little tiny plants like 6 in to 5T tall I’ve only known a

Silby to be this Long Tall plant but when I went doing some reading on it apparently sby Rose only to 6 in tall which is super cool and you can put that in the front of the Border if you have a shady location to add some pop of color

In your beds the leaves of the plants are also gorgeous they have toothed edges you can combine them with all sorts of things like grasses brera hastas huras and Coline and many other plants and by combining them with these plants you will end up with a variety of

Different foliage and colors and it’s going to make your landscape stunning because of these beautiful combinations and of course if you place them properly as well it’s going to make a much better impact I hope these pictures that I’m displaying to you are going to inspire

You and give you some ideas for your garden when it comes to the hardiness Zone Astilbe is Hardy from zones 3 to 9 that’s going to depend on the varieties of course not all varieties are Hardy to Zone 3 so choose a variety that is going

To be hearty to your Zone and again you can start them from seed as I am if you want to save a little bit on money especially in today’s economy starting things from seed is going to be your best bet because if your garden is Young

Like my garden or you are trying to replace a whole bunch of plants it would be very helpful to you to start your perennials and annuals from seed I have several videos on starting perennials from seed and flowers and all sorts of different plants and also on the winter

Sewing methods I have several videos on those as well so whether you have a grow room with grow lights and all these things or whether you don’t you can still start all sorts of things from seed and grow a whole bunch of beautiful perennials and annuals for your garden I

Will leave a link to these videos for you in the description box so that you can go through them and get inspiration and education on how you can start your perennials and annuals and all sorts of things from seed to fill your garden and make it look the way how you want it

Atil be also is not drought tolerant it wants to be in a moist location so if you have a boggy location that is going to be perfect for it you’re not going to need to irrigate it and if you have a dry shade location you want to make sure

To provide it with some moisture one of the places that I’m going to plant it as I have mentioned is going to be the Cottage Garden and that location gets super super wet in the spring and in the fall and right now our winter is warm so

That place is just soaking wet there is no going in there it feels like you are almost like you’re walking in a swamp and I’m planning on planting a whole bunch of plants that love the water in that location so make sure to plant your a still be in a location that is

Probably near water so if you have a pond or or a creek or something like that you can plant it next to the creek bed and if you have a boggy location you can plant it in that location and it’s going to thrive in those types in that

Type of environment because it does not want to dry out at all if it does dry out you’ll notice that it start to crisp up so just make sure to provide it with some supplemental watering if you live in a dry dry location or if you place it

In a dry shade location or full sun if you place it in full sun you’ll definitely need to provide it with some supplemental watering when it comes to maintenance you’ll need to dead head the blooms and that’s going to encourage more blooms for you and you’ll also need

To divide it once it kind of fills up and creates these big clumps that’s going to encourage the plant to put on some more growth and you’ll basically multiply your plants and you’ll be able to spread it all around your Gardens wherever you want and of course you’re

Going to need to mulch because mulch is a very important thing for the garden it’s going to protect the soil it’s going to maintain the moisture in the soil and the heat index in the soil a still we attracts pollinators like butterflies and bees so it’s going to be

Perfect for my garden because I love attracting pollinators if you’re also looking to attract poll to your garden this plant is perfect for you my biggest Focus for the garden this year is going to be the front flower bed and The Cottage Garden the front flower bed is

The bed that I finished mulching this past fall and I want to add all sorts of different plants to that bed because this is the front of the house and I want to create this kind of curb appeal another area that I want to focus on is

The driveway area we have a strip of land between us and our neighbors and that land was totally neglected and there was poison ivy and Thorn bushes and sumac poison sumac and all sorts of things growing in that place so we took all that down there were also trees

Between us and the Neighbors in that little strip of land and we were kind of concerned that those trees were going to possibly fall on the neighbor’s house because they were super close to their house and we get tons of wind we teamed up together we cut down those trees and

Well we hired a company to do it we didn’t do it ourselves those trees were also touching the power lines so that was always a safety concern from all sorts of directions right now though that area is just a total disaster because I was spraying it for two

Seasons now the intent was to kill all those poisonous things that were there and I think that I reached a pretty good safe place there is still a little bit of Poison Ivy in that location that I will still need to spray there is a bit

Of an issue though with cleaning up that place is that it has gravel and landscape fabric in there so apparently not the people that were living here before us but the people before them hired landscapers and they landscaped that whole space but then it grew into a

Wild jungle and they put down gravel there and I hate gravel I just I think it’s the absolute worst for the garden because it’s so hard to weed and it’s so hard to plant in it’s great for kind of commercial settings where you’re not going to be add add plants in there or

Removing plants it’s just the plants are just what they are and you’re not going to be changing anything about them so I’m not sure what I’m going to do about it I think I might hire someone to kind of excavate it or I may do it myself I

Don’t know that’s going to take a lot and on and it’s going to take a toll on my body my foot still hurts me from 2 years ago and I’m a little worried about doing that myself so I would like to hire someone to kind of just excavate

The whole thing and start fresh once it’s excavated my plan is to just kind of scatter some wildf flower seeds until I’m able to implement my plan and I have already drawn out my plan for that Garden but I can’t implement it be yet because I would need to put down some

Compost Mulch and all that stuff and have it ready for planting so that’s going to take probably a few years hopefully this coming up here I can hire someone to just do the job for me when it comes to just cleaning up that area and be done with it because it’s driving

Me insane it’s a total disaster other companions that are going to be great for planting the tilby are going to be your hydrangeas Bonas and all the basically all the shade loving plants I’m looking here at a picture that I asked AI to generate and this landscape

Is gorgeous and I want to be in it and if I can create this sort of a landscape in our garden I would be absolutely almost in heaven not quite there because there’s nothing like heaven but but it’s just it’s so gorgeous and I’m kind of amazed at what

AI can do it’s pretty good I’m pretty good I’m impressed in the future I would love to add some fountains and some statuary to the Garden some heartscape like benches and all these things to just make it stand out more and to make it more enjoyable and just all these

Things together add a lot of beauty to the Garden not just the plants themselves so these are my plans for this coming up year for the garden and let me know if I should change anything about them or if you have any ideas for my Gardens or for your Gardens let me

Know in the comments section below and I would love to know what are your plans for the garden this coming up season uh what are you dreaming about and planning let me know in the comments section down below and if you love gardening videos you can click on this this video over
