What design challenges have you faced in your garden?
.
This long, narrow, and unevenly sloped garden in Seattle was transformed into an urban sanctuary. “I took the approach that my client for this project was actually my wife,” says landscape designer Scot Eckley (spoiler alert, the client was his wife!).
.
Together they brainstormed a wishlist which included spaces for dining and relaxing, a dog run for their Lab, and a French-style potager. Their ultimate goals were to maximize the limited space of their small garden and to create a peaceful, private sanctuary away from the urban bustle (46-by-100-foot lot). The garden has evolved over several years. See more about small garden design, link in our bio. Photo by Alex Hayden.
