In this tour we will be touring our project quarter acre homestead plans and secret garden. We will also be discussing allotment self-sufficiency. This tour is perfect for those who are interested in starting their own homestead or gardening project.
So we finally moved guys and finally there’s a video so as you can see we finally have our secret garden that I’ve always wanted and we’re going to work towards the plans that I’m going to show you here today um this is just going to be a quick update video there’s no growing
Going on this is just to show you the new Homestead self-sufficiency type of living that we were hoping to do going for forward in the next couple of years so we bought a house with uh just over a quarter of an acre of land and it has a
Secret garden so what’s not to like about that we got this huge apple tree that was here needs a lot of work we got a sun room through these white Gates is the secret garden and we have a log store which is really nice obviously these things all need new roofs doors
Everything right there it’s a lot of work here this this it seems as though this property hasn’t had any really big TLC for a long time as you can see you know I could see somebody used to use this to grow and they used to love and enjoy it and
Throughout the years they’ve let you know it’s gone down or they’ve got older and they’ve just lost the passion or you know a big with a big property becomes big responsibilities and sometimes it is a bit much you know doesn’t matter how old you are So the plan is full
Renovation in here new roof new doors new windows etc etc and then we can get on with that so through the uh Secret Garden Gate I like to call this The Secret Garden because if it didn’t tell you it was part of what our place then you wouldn’t really know
Um as you come up here we have the garage which is really good so there really good there’s loads of things to love about this little bit of land that we have up here it’s relatively flat it doesn’t hold a lot of water for example it doesn’t get too
Boggy uh we have access in two different areas we have a little Forest here which we can grow some cool foresty type foods I guess berries etc etc um you know and I flash a little image up of what our plans or what we would like to do going forward over the
Next 5 years you know and every spring every Friday you know hopefully we can get out here and get a few things done so when we bought the property originally the foliage was all the way down to here you know so much so that it was just overgrowing you know into you
So when you came here it was just there and uh we have cleared back at least a quarter of it just to access it you know all this rubbish shes from the stuff that we found in the house after we bought it um and I’ll show you around this
Little area now and our plan so our plan is is just to live off the land you know get a bit of a homestead going and if we can create like 60 70% of our food from our space that we have then that’s a good thing you know
We did as you could see in some of my older videos um we managed to grow quite a bit in the small little allotment that we created in my back Garden in my old place um so basically we you know from that tree there all the
Way to that big tree at the back it’s about 40 m long I think all the way to the corner there and then you know we got the forest here and um it’s really nice I really love this area you know it’s one of the reasons I bought the
Property um the house itself is really nice and I’ll flash up a little image now and we’ll discuss what I want to do uh going forward so as you can see there on on the image you know we got access for the cars to come in so we got a nice hard
Standing ground area there so it makes living liveing much easier so you can just drive in park up go down to the house sorted and then you got a walkway to the poly tunnel some raised beds some fruit trees uh you know you’re going to have um some composting areas some undercover
Areas so when it starts raining you can just chill out under there for a bit you know a nice little seating area would be nice and it’ll evolve you know that’s just an idea of what we would like but obviously things evolve as you go along through life and
We’ll see what we end up with we’ll see what we end up with you know uh hopefully with a little bit of luck it will turn out very similar to what you see there um you know there’s a lot of projects going on uh in the house except what’s on this plan
But as you can see um that is the idea so I don’t know if you guys got any slightly different ideas or any uh comments on the area that I just showed you um you know hopefully I’m looking at by the end of by the end of next summer all of this
Area here all of this area here will be nice and flat you know may have a poly tunnel up over there may have a poly tunnel up you know all of this will be gone you know the garage will be sorted out um the sun room will be sorted out
The log store will be sorted out there’s a lot of other projects going on you know in the house and around the front and things like that around the house in general but this is one of those gardening projects that I’m really really looking forward or we are looking
