Today I would like to take you on a Garden Tour and Share with you the plans I have for the garden to beef up the colour in the garden and add some design to it. I also would like to share my plans to make the front of my garden shed beautiful or to take it from humdrum to cute and sassy!

Hi everyone Merry Christmas Jaclyn here creating my garden Canada Saskatchewan Zone 3B so today is Christmas day and I wanted to share with you how things are looking in the yard so a bit of a garden tour and then I want to share with you my plans for 2024 Garden season I have

Some products up my sleeve and I’d like to share those with you and as we go through the next few videos that are coming up you’ll get an idea where I’m going with my color scheme and what I’m doing with the yard to make it beautiful so let’s get

Started you know I couldn’t help myself I really wanted to be out in the garden today it is a beautiful day it’s -4 here but the sun is shining the birds are out I even seen two blue jays in the garden but you can see everything’s pretty darn

Dormant but the birds are busy the squirrels are busy and it’s just lovely here and you can see all our vehicles and driveway which is not what I want to show you but hey that’s life but you can see the chickes are are hard at it going to the

Feeder and they have been busy today there’s been a bunch of red sparrows here and nut hatches here so we have a lot of birds but my biggest surprise this year at the feeders was Blue Jays we had two blue JS here so the birds did

Not all go home for the winter they’ve stayed so that was very exciting the blue J has graced me with this presents once a couple years ago and was perched on a post on the deck and then it showed up this year in my window box can you

Believe it it was in this window box and you can see my pine cone fell over here I’m just going to fix it right now these were such nice giant pine cones I can’t express how happy they made me in these window boxes and I’m

Just going to zoom out so you can see how huge that is there’s my hand so you can see how big that guy is and here’s the other one we’ve had a bit of wind so it’s not a few things over but for the most part things are looking good very

Natural looking the Christmas Arrangement is looking gorgeous I really like the white Twigs in this Arrangement and quite honestly with the lack of snow we had this year these white TGs Twigs are very suitable for this Arrangement it really perks it up and you can see them from a long ways away because

Everything’s Brown this year to a certain degree the hookz the hydranges are all asleep I’m not not having as much damage this year with them that I did pre prior years so that is really good but I did catch a big well I didn’t

Catch a Big Jack Rabbit I was out in the shed cuz I have a RAS a Golden Harvest raspberry bush in the shed that I went out and gave some water to cuz I never got it in the ground it’s in a container and it’s still got green stems on it

Surprisingly and when I came out I startled a Big Jack Rabbit that was in the yard now he was over in The Cottage Garden Garden area so I’m really hoping he wasn’t eating the hydranges over there that I just put in but you can see here you can hear the snow is really

Crunchy and you can see here the Alberta Alberta spruce the little guys are still there lots of leaves the leaves came down late and you can see all along here and I’m just going to walk and show you the hydrangeas in here I did put down some Critter

Ritter before the snow came down because there was some bowls in here and they had uprooted a hydrangea completely that I couldn’t save so I was not happy about that so I’m not sure if it worked or not I don’t see a lot of footprints on top

Of the snow the odd one which is maybe more from a cat than anything but you can see everything looks good considering the lack of snow and it’s very dark over here on this side side cuz the sun is in the South so the fence is kind of blocking

It you can see all the hydranges here the nine barks the other one I pruned cuz I used it for arrangement this one I didn’t prune but it should have a pruning so with the weather nice I might come out here and do that you can see my Miss Kim lilacs in

Here all in here and Hydra this is Miss Kim and that would be hydrangea more Siberian large the bright yellow pontillas and we have a hydrangea in the back and uh some other shrubs back there as well as a bunch of seeds that are probably spread over there I had zenas

In there and I had Holly Hawks along this Edge in here so I’m really hoping those come up this year I got a few um foliage a bit of foliage off a couple of the plants and that’s I’m hoping being there by any you’all this year is the

Year I can hear the chickies in the trees they’ve been very busy today I put sunflowers out for them to keep them happy and uh it’s just a wonderful sound you hear traffic as well but the tree Line’s looking good now here’s one of the plans for this year my neighbors

Have been telling me how great the yard is looking this year and I’ve really really enjoyed that feedback they’ve loved the flowers and they’ve been pulling up when I’m mowing the lawn and said hey your flowers are gorgeous so I think this a year I get this tree line

Done so probably what I’m going to do is have to bring dirt in if I can get enough cardboard I’ll do cardboard if I can’t the dirt’s going to go down on top and I’m going to plant in it there’s going to be shade tolerant plants like

Lots of hostas I can see day lies in here and yaros and we’ll see maybe even some penies and stuff it gets a lot of West Sun it gets shade during the day you can see the dappled shade right now this is my neighbor’s snow pile it’s not

Bad he tends to put all the snow on our side of the yard which is fine whatever it is a town property the boulevard so I mean they can put it where they want as long as it’s not in our yard so every year I have to work this area and clean

It up a lot of raking cuz everything’s smashed down the grass is really smashed and fix it but all in all this pile isn’t too bad this year you can see how the water has ran down the street here and it’s covered in ice it always slopes

Here after the town gave us um put us on Town water but for the most part that’s fine uh I have all-wheel drive so I can easily get up and down the street but you can see the trees are looking really really good not a lot of dead branches

Or anything on them considering how dry it is and I would suspect January February we will get at least another dusting of snow maybe even some rain although we don’t want rain here on the Prairies because it we’re always going below zero so it makes for treacherous driving conditions and for people

Walking and stuff a lot of hips get broke here in the winter can you tell I have the gardening itch I just want to be outside so this is a pear tree and what I want to do is I want to put a ring around it and F it fill it full of

Hostas and d llies and stuff and I want to do this one as well so that’s the plan so a few changes to the front yard but that’s about the extent of it I’m going to curve off this corner down here toward the driveway and do more of a curve over here as

Well since I did not get all of the pruning done I wanted to do and everything cut back I’m going to come in here and cut down some of these plants for instance a heliopsis here should be cut down to the ground and I’m going to take care of that the snowball bush

Could use more of a pruning so then come in and finish off some of the cuting I need to do hopefully I can cut through spent stems on the hostess that need to be cleaned up Rob needs to fix my fire hydrant up it’s not a real fire hydrant as in it is

A real fire hydrant but it’s not a working fire hydrant I need to cut through and cut the the delphiniums down and leatrice or latc and some of the lilies and stuff in here same with this area cut through and cut the sedums down there are some Lily stems I haven’t

Taken down here and some Delphinium that need to be cut so all this should be cleaned up I’d like to get it done before Spring so Now’s the Time I have the shinook sunrise roses in here all along here and they did get a late pruning I see a couple broken branches

On them here so probably from Critters coming through here not a surprise when you get big jack rabbits coming into your yard to Feast but all in all you know with this fence up it’s really helped to keep the jack rabbits under control my hot chili dianthus here is

Turned to bright yellow I did not protect it for the winter it’s supposed to be Hardy forone we will see over here I planted some Hardy geraniums you can see the picture right there for the color I think they should be really pretty there’s a lot of oranges in

Here I see a hole over here that I’m not impressed with so we probably have a bow could be a mouse most likely of all more of the shinook sunrises here cuz I wanted to match up the sides and there’s tulips in here you guys I put tulips

Along the edge right over there and they’re all in here so I’m really hoping for some beautiful color this year all the hostas have gone to sleep you can see here and hook CR that I planted these should look good I left the tag in so far it’s

Staying I may be able to split a few more of these hostes this year and use it for some additional beds I’m going to do I did not get the dayes all cut back so I need to do that I should prune up that lilac it needs some TLC for sure

And I need to move these blocks so if I can lift these blocks I might start moving a few every day this week and the weeks are going to be warm come out on my lunches or after work and move a few more until I get them all moved out of

Here cuz I’m going to change everything up here in the corner I’m about to tell you some of the things I want to do over in this area over in this area we have the Red Dog Woods in the back here that I planted in the fall and

We have some beautiful hookas here and this is peach Berry ice you can see the color there what it’s going to look like that should be really pretty these might get moved based on the plan that I have um in my mind so let’s talk about that so this is

My miniature rose bit so what I would like to do is have a path come along here and into there a beautiful bench maybe an arbor on the angle in that corner here a path going across with an N Central to this Rose bed and I want to

Plant all this with roses and beautiful perennial flowers and some annuals and then have it come right up to the Gazebo I want Rob to get the roof on that gazebo this year it’s been too many years and I want to paint the floor and the Gazebo a pink or a mint

Green I think that’d be pretty and then I want to take out the grass that’s behind the Gazebo there and put a bed in there because it’s just such a waste to have to mow we have an area here that we’re always walking on always coming through here to

Get to the shed to get equipment and stuff out I want to put a path in here and I want to plant on both sides with flowers and then open that area up to all flowers in that corner by the gate and buy the Gazebo and make it just

Stunning that is the plan for that shed and I’m going to turn that shed girly and when I say girly I’m going to Beef It Up and make it pretty I’m not turning it into a she shed I I just want the exterior to be gorgeous because we house

A lot of our tools and stuff in there including my gardening tools path needs the ve off from the side so from over here Veer off over here but I want to come more straight out so probably more where I’m standing to have it come out

Here and along here cuz I want you to look and see beautiful things right on the center of it so that’s the arbor Rob is working on we haven’t got it done yet but we will and you can see where all the snow is in my yard I mean I’m

Walking in snow now so we can’t say we don’t have snow cuz we do you can hear me crunching as I walk but this area does hold the snow more which is good for like the garlic that I have planted in that bed over there and some of the perennials that

Are in here I think it’s good for them and the Roses to have some coverage and that way they at the moisture when it melts but you can see how things are coming along here ra will continue to work on his tent which has a car in it

To gradually turn that into my Greenhouse it’s going to be white you guys it’s not going to be a tent anymore but it’s going to be a two-year project because we got to build a garage a single garage for him to put his car in and that and start doing some of that

Infrastructure stuff so that’s kind of the plan here but this area is coming along nicely I’m going to order more of the grap fine raised beds to run them in here I want six in here in the front for starters we’re going to put a fence up

And around this I want a white latest fence and I want the post to stick up higher because I have a project in mind I want to share with you to beautify this area so those are some of the things that are coming so you can see I’m totally ready

For spring like I have the itch so bad so you’re going to start seeing a few more videos coming they will be sporadic at first but then I’m going to get back into a schedule of 3 days a week probably more like February but I’m

Going to throw an extra one in for you guys whenever I can but you can see how boring and blond that front of that shed is but it looks better than it did so let’s girly it up so to speak and give it that wow factor so you might see some

Projects working on stuff in preparation for spring for that because quite honestly this is the time to do things when you get some downtime and you’re having to mle on and maintain stuff so thank you for watching everyone happy holidays and I will probably put out another video tomorrow which is Boxing
