UNIQUE SEED HEAD IN THE GARDEN

The fall garden presented an opportunity to grow this callaloo amaranth seed head. While we’re growing our cool season favorites let’s not miss out on saving seeds from the champions of summer. This warm season green is drought and heat-tolerant along with being a nutrient-dense option to grow in a hot climate.

Hey it’s Scott from New Garden Road I want to show you something beautiful this is a seed head for the caloo amaran reminds me kind of like a pine tree I grew this edible green all through the summer I was out here one morning recently just gazing at some of the

Plants in the garden and it’s not often that we let them mature to the state sometimes we pull them out plant new crops I want to save some of the seeds from this plant but I’ve got to wait until they dry and mature this one is

Just now forming its seed head kind a bug in there what up bug this is a really nutritious warm season green very heat tolerant drought tolerant I admire these plants when they go to full maturity fall gardening not all about the cool season crops we uh want to grow

It’s about the maturing warm season crops I’ve been seeing a lot of hoverflies in the garden recently and they they seem to love this amaranth too all those teeny flowers for a teeny bug maximum opportunity right there all right just a little something that is inspiring me in the garden recently

Wanted to share that with you keep it organic
