Reminder to direct sow seeds for carrots right NOW #carrot #garden #gardeningtips #vegetablegarden

December is the last chance to direct sow carrot seeds if your located in the South USA garden zones 9-11 (warm winter climates). Zone 8 gardeners can continue direct sowing seed through January.

Carrots require 3-4 months of consistently mild or cold temperatures to grow properly. If your carrots were tiny or stunted in growth, most likely it was because they were exposed to temperatures that were too hot.

Using my garden as an example – Central FL zone 10A – I start direct sowing seeds for the heat tolerant carrot cultivars at the end of September. I direct sow seeds for all the regular cultivars in October. The last time I direct sow seeds is December to ensure they grow in cool weather for the next few months.

I have a YouTube video tutorial all about growing carrots from seed to harvest if you need expert tips: https://youtu.be/nsEZCDwjxFw

This is your reminder to directo seeds for carrots if you want to try growing them this season and you’re a gardener located in a warm winter climate I actually start direct sewing seeds for carrots in October with December pretty much being that last month because if carrots are exposed to too much heat

They can stay super tiny and not grow very much carrots need 3 to four months of growing time to be ready for Harvest which is going to land me in the month of March and for me here in Florida March is already getting way too hot so

My goal is to harvest them all out before March arrives and if you need expert tips on how to grow carrots from seed go check out my YouTube channel because I do have a full gardening tutorial that shows you everything you need to know about growing carrots from

Seed all the way to harvest I will link that tutorial in my bio link tree or in the description below in case you’re wondering this is Napa cabbage it’s just so beautiful and Lush I had to show it to you guys in this video
