Today I’m going to show you how to divide the ground cover snow in summer here is one of my snow and summer ground cover plants this one is only about a year or a year and a half old but you can tell it has already started

To multiply on its own these are not divisions that I did but this is the plant spreading out itself but if we want to take the mother plant right here and divide it this is what we’re going to do and dig in underneath the plant we’re going

To find the root ball that was not the root [Applause] ball this plant is well rooted in going to try a bigger shovel this is much more well well rooted in than I imagined we’re just going to get ready in there and get that root ball

Out there we go we’ve got that root ball out so here you can see the root ball is mostly under the ground so what we’re going to do is we’re going to just start breaking off pieces there’s a piece here brand new plant in fact this could actually be two

Plants we’ve got some pieces here that’s another this is another plant right here good amount of root on there another plant here and we can take our mother plant if we want to break that up a little bit you’re basically just breaking off chunks of the root with plant attached

And that will give you that will give you brand new plants just like that got a little pile of starter plants I’m going to break this up a little more and plant this around my yard these are the little tricks that nurseries don’t want you to know if you

Enjoyed this little garden hack don’t forget to hit the like button and we will see you soon with some more gardening tips bye for now

  1. Thanks for a wonderful video today. Sorry I haven’t been over. I’ve been sick the last couple days with Covid.
