So we decided not to battle with winter (although we haven’t had much of a winter so far). I planted winter veggies, mostly different types of lettuce. We will move the peppers that I started today out into the greenhouse in March. So if anything we will have a month of heightening expense with wood burning and what not.
Prior to this we tested the thermal mass rocket stove for a few days straight when it was much colder and it was too attention seeking hahah so I bailed. But it did make the greenhouse insanely hot , steadily in the 70s for about 3 hours at a time and then in the high 40s at night when it was in the 20s. My boyfriend and I settled with March bending the greenhouse go month!
Previously posted in a different subreddit, today I’ve planted 5 varieties of hot peppers, shishitos, and two varieties of tomatoes so far! After my vacation in January, I’ll more than likely plant more.
