Makes sense at the end to top layer with coconut coir, because JUST as with using a seed starter kit, you are sowing your seeds in coconut coir, and depending on the size/plant, you THEN transfer to a soil filled pot or bed for the roots to thrive. Not a necessary thing to do, but a smart thing to try. Will do that on my 4th 6'x3'x12" bed i build next.

  2. hey Jake I live in Oregon, it's fairly rainy here. Should I use coco coir in my raised beds or will it cause root rot problems?
