  1. This set kept catching my eye but I never bought it- now I'm sorry I didn't. And your use of 2 sets to complete it is even more beautiful. Maybe they'll make an Icons version sometime soon and I can get it!

  2. I really like that translucent lego brick remover for the water fall! Is that the first translucent lego remover?

  3. Very nice twist at the end. I like that, you should do this more often ! Great job as always 😁

  4. Hm… would like to see how this looks next to the professional city sets. Forget what that line is called, but corner hotel etc.

  5. Another good Friends set. So many sets I'd love to buy compared to the City line that has a bunch of "repeat" sets. I really like how they explain what the plants are in the instructions. Providing the little education is nice.

  6. hold on, when you say the stickers are off centered, is it because you accidently put it off center or it came in the set like bad quality control?

  7. I do believe this set, multiplied by 14, would be a great garden scene, for the new museum ( as far as a large format, for a more finished, realistic look)!

  8. Crazy that it tool you this long to review it
    This set is awesome
Color scheme of this set would have worked for the natural History museum
    Doubled up looks great

  9. Thank you!!! This is easily my favorite set this year, I have it on my shelf very close to my computer because it gives me such a joy, its adorable!

  10. First review I’ve seen of this set. I’m very interested but have nowhere to display properly to hide the back. I ordered one just because I’m scared this will retire and become expensive if I don’t buy it while I’m thinking about it

  11. Botanical Garden came out before the Tranquil Garden. Also side note, it's off putting to me that so many fellow AFOLs seem so… purist? about Lego and act like "ew the Friends line" lol. Like okay, you aren't the target audience. Y'all don't have to keep repeating how much you hate mini-dolls every time the Friends line is brought up. I like both. I think City Beautiful made a hilarious video comparing Lego City and Heartlake City. Lego City being clearly a dangerous place to live. While there must be a reason Heartlake City residents are taller and thinner. It was very funny!

edit to clarify not directed to Tiago, but other commenters.

  12. My problem with friends will always be that it feel so..antithetical to what Lego should be. I have no issue with Lego sets having a more casual or domestic theme, not every set meant for kids has to be an action set pieces. It’s that the idea of mini-dolls specifically just seems to poor. It feels like a thing from decades past, that girls have girl toys and boys have boy toys. Lego mini-figures should be unisex as toys.

  13. @tiago wow! More videos where you customize sets please. I really enjoyed seeing your suggestion in real life vs just having to imagine it. Cheers!

  14. This set is so awesome that I went on Rebrickable and found a couple of really nice builds that uses 2-4 of these to make it whole.
Lego Friends has been killing it in the last year. Waaay better then city sets. But it seems like the city is trying to copy what they are doing with Friends now.

  15. I hope we get more reviews of interesting sets from the "kids" themes next year (creator 3-in-1, friends, city)

  16. Pretty awesome set as are some of the newly announced friends sets. I got really lucky as one of are national supermarkets had these on clearance: usually £75 but had them reduced to £25 which is roughly $32, I managed to snag 3 sets for a MOC!

  17. This set and tiny plotted plants match exactly the threshold of the two current GWP’s. Ordered! (In Danish currency, I didn’t check other).
I think the butterflies could easily be modified to spin from the top, by having a pin going though the roof.

  18. I got this set on release day as it was so unique for the theme and I loved it. It was a great build and great price. Looks amazing.

  19. Yup, got 2 of those sets. Built them together into a solid building with modifications and custom pond, tree and a beehive behind glass. All on a 48×48 stud base with exterior gardens. Just finished modifying the hocus pocus house into a country watermill converted to cottage with pond and waterrace for the wheel. Custom tree and all on a 48×48 base.

  20. I agree the modified botanical garden looks way better than the original. If two kits is generously judged as 10 out of 10, one kit should be judged as half (5) of that.

  21. It makes me smile that a former lego designer/ forever lego expert, struggling to put stickers on straight…. just like I struggle! Btw…. just completed the ship in a bottle and tonight started on the gingerbread house with the kids. Both builds are excellent, and you used some very clever building techniques. Both builds were/ are very enjoyable. I hope some day I can be a fraction as clever as you in my builds and mocs. Cheers!

  22. This looks great, seeing you actually getting a second set and adding to it rather than just talking about it is awesome. Would it be too difficult to make the orb on the top of the dome to be the play feature to spin the butterflies?
