Surgeons use sterilized tools (such as scissors, surgical blades, knives or scalpels) when they operate on us. In the same manner, we should use sterilized tools when we prune our dragon fruit cacti, or any other plant.

Plants are living things too. They could also get sick and die, just like us. It is recommended to use only sterilized or sanitized tools, when pruning, in order to reduce the risk of spreading disease from one plant to another.
